One-Bedroom House

The owner of the hotel was not helpful at. We were trying to find informations on local transport and instead he wanted to sell us his own tour. We have booked the room and he was lying about how hot the place is to try for us to make an "upgrade" of the room, i.e. with air conditioning, when it was not needed at all. When he saw we didn't wanted he came to take the remote control from the room. The bathroom was full of mosquitoes and I asked for the spiral (which they provide in all the hostels/hotels we have been) and they didn't want to give us because "it was danger of fire", so instead we had to kill them one by one. Thinking since the guesthouse (I wouldn't call it "resort") was out of the busy walking street of Pai, we would have a good night sleep, the place is surrounded by noisy roosters that are fighting and crowing all the time (maybe the drunk tourists that hang out around Pai don't mind, we do). In any case, we are not the type of tourist that like Pai vibe and tourist-trap style of holidays, so hopefully this review helps to the like-minded people. To the owner of the place: Yes, we reached Ban Rak Thai with public transport in half a day for 310 baht, there is no need to pay 2,500 bahts to get there!

Don't bother. Loud. No late check-out policy. No breakfast. ”
Pro's; reasonably clean, within walking distance to walking street, new-ish. Con's; rock hard bed, luke warm shower water, roosters making loud noise all day, neighbor who does woodwork with saws and loud sanders starting at 6am, if you change your room you will be given a hard time, if you checkout late you will be charged FULL price, if you decide to leave ( so you can have a quiet place) owner will not refund your money even at 1 pm when checkout was at 11:30. "Sorry nah, you can call the police...I cannot refund money". I would not recommend at all.

Pretty decent place to stay!”
It was a little out of the way, but within walking distance to the city center. the staff are very friendly, they don't clean the rooms unless you specifically request it. There are no fridges in the rooms. The rooms are fairly large, and the bathroom is also pretty big. There is a rather noisy rooster that wakes you up during the night and early morning, and the walls are pretty thin so you can easily hear other people.

Great Place”
Absolutely loved this place. The chap that runs it was very friendly and very helpful. Room was overall l very clean, and good facilities, complimentary coffee and toast in the morning, and facilities to cool your own food (not that you need to). A very short walk out of town which makes it nice and peaceful. Stayed for two nights but extended to four. Will come here again if in Pai.

Grear service, but kind of loud.”
The staff at Pai Friendly Resort were wonderful. They were very friendly and always willing to help out. They don't come in and clean the room every day, you can ask for it to be done, but it isn't done automatically, so if you need anything, you have to ask for it. They provide you with clean drinking water, the entire time you are there, along with a public cooking station and free coffee in the morning. Wen we were checking out, someone drove us to the bus staton. It was only a 10-15 minute walk, but it was still wonderful. It's about a 10 minute walk from the city center. Close enough to walk about and see everything, but far enough out that you don't hear any noise from people. You do, howe've, hear the rather annoying rooster all day and throughout the night. That was slightly irritating. And the walls are very thin, so it's easy to hear people next to you.

Great place to stay”
Friendly staff, clean rooms, good wifi, far enough to be quiet but close enough to the night markets. Certainly recommend this place.
