Clean city center hotel ”
We were stay in a family room, the room was clean and spacious. Bathroom was clean and large as well. Hotel staff speaks English quite well. Buffet breakfast was limite but adequate, Myanmar, Chinese, toast butter & jam, coffee, tea, artificial juice, and fruit. It was better than the breakfast set we had with other Myanmar's hotel. Hotel location: train station, the last stop of Air Asia Shutter bus are within a mile. Mandalay palace is within 3 miles. The hotel located in a main road so it is easy to find a taxi.

Good hotel with very nice food at its restaurant”
We arrived to Palace Hotel at 4am and the staffs checked us in immediately, which we really appreciated. The room was nice and clean. We decided to have dinner at the hotels restaurant and the food was amazing beyond our expectation. The staffs were very helpful also.

pretty nice hotel, okay location”
They let me check in early. If you take the bus from Yangon into Mandalay, I think you're always going to arrive in the early dark morning hours, so early check-in can be a big help. They checked me in just before 9am, in time to let me partake in the complimentary breakfast buffet. Stuff like that left me with a good impression. The room is nice enough, and I love the bed--firm but not rock hard. Fridge works and is stocked. Wi-fi is very slow. Works well enough for email, but I've been trying to book a room on Agoda for next week and it's taking forever. The shower is another drawback. After a couple of minutes it got lukewarm, and after (really) about five minutes it got hot. Showerhead is mounted on the wall, not handheld, and it sprays water like a gentle sprinkler. So if you stay here take heart, that hot shower will eventually come, but there's nothing much to be done about the water pressure. A few local eateries nearby, as well as mom and pop grocery stores and fruit stands. Some of the restaurants I found on Wikitravel and Tripadvisor (e.g. BBB, Koffee Korner) were within K1000 distance by motorbike taxi. I walked to the Night Food Market in about 15 min. It was pretty good, quite a handful of choices. Although the hotel isn't close to any of the sightseeing spots, the good thing about it is that taxi drivers (cab and motorbike) all seem to know the location of Palace Hotel. That saved me a lot of hassle.

relax, nice”
The stay was quite convenient on a busy itinerary between different cities. Palace Hotel is ideally located between the main sights and the little towns to visit around Mandalay.

Disappointed with my stay”
I was disappointed with my stay here. Planned to stay longer in Mandalay, so had to move to a different hotel as issues with my room were ignored. Staff were helpful but English was an issue. Breakfast was a buffet and was ok, just! My room was dated and small, but the bed was comfortable. Bathroom had a leak from the ceiling over the toilet that was not even looked at and got worse during my stay. Was never offered another room. Toiletries, towels, and bottled water were not fully replaced, so had to request these daily. The air conditioner did not work on my first night and still was not fixed after my 2nd (last) night. Overall I would not stay here again. Better options available for similar or cheaper room rates.

Not bad but poor value”
The standard room was adequate with a very firm (hard!) bed; persistence and patience is required if you want a warm or, if you're lucky, hot shower. Prices offered online are outrageous for the quality (or lack of) that you get. If you have a reason to visit this miserable city for more than a couple of days I'd get here and then walk around bargaining for a 'deal'. (There is so little to see/don in Mandalay it's better missed altogether unless you visit en route somewhere els. The review wont let me leave blank "good things about Mandalay" so I ticked skiing - like most things you might want to do on holiday, you can't find it here!!! Staff are very atentive so if you like the door opened for you and/or help parking your motorbike and/or carrying your toast from the 'self-service' breakfast table - then you'll love this place. Breakfast is sad; it's assumed you want toast with tasteless jam but cold nearly fried eggs are also available. There is a good selection of asian food but I'm afraid cold rice dishes or noodles etc don't appeal to me first thing. There are coffee sachets that seem to be full of sugar and lacking coffee but here's a hint: ask for black coffee and a jar of Nescafe will appear for a short while. Half a sachet of their stuff plus a spoon of Nescafe makes an acceptable morning brew for me.

Nice room with hi speed WiFi”
The hotel located on the city's center, train station and main road but it isn't noisy at night (since very few trains schedule). The room is clean with attentive staffs. The local banks are beside to exchange money before 3 PM. For me, its location is great in the center of everything: Mahamuni temple, Palace, shopping mall, not too far from Air Asia bus stand (I could walked for 10 minutes). The hotel name shines at night which was helpfully to locate. The Wifi speed was great, the bed was very comfortable, nice bathroom even though the hot water had to wait for some 7 minutes, cable tv with movies. The breakfast was rather basic for vegetarian.

Location not bad, but just another expensive hotel”
Location was ok. Mandalay is a big town, staying nearby the Palace is good. This hotel not that close to palace; by walking at least 30 min. wifi is acceptable, the buffet breakfast is very basic.

Very nice place”
It seemed that they just opened the place or finished renewing the hotel when we got there (early Feb 2014). So they had special promotion and we had a great room for 30US$. The kind of rooms we haven't often seen in Myanmar! (not at that rate anyway). Nice breakfast on the roof-top terrace with view.

discover Mandalay culture and history”
hotel location is OK. You should rent a bike nearby to move around in the city and towards palace or main temples. The rooms are not of the latest standards nor big but clean and ok.

Perfect hotel for a semi-short stay”
The hotel is about 20 mins walk from the nearest monuments, i.e. the citadel. So it's not very close to the city center, but it's a nice walk. There's a minimarket nearby and a delicious local restaurant exactly the next door. Food is conveniently priced and portions are huge, try it! The rooms are nice, not too old and not modern, not bad for the price paid, but not convenient like other places in Asia. Minifridge, cable tv, medium size room, decent size bathroom. The staff are very nice, some of them speak good English, others don't but they will make eny effort to satisfy your needs. I let them arrange taxi to airport, flight ticket to Bagan and car trip to Inle. They are accurate, smiling and capable. Overall a hassle-free stay, only the breakfast is really poor, mainly rice and vegetarian dishes, but too little food, when you go after 8 everything's almost over...this needs a real improvement.

Nothing out of the ordinary”
Nothing out of the ordinary. Centrally located but just a little to far to walk to the night markets. Motorcycles were fun to get around while taxis were harder to find. Food was good and the staff weer friendly and helpful.

A downtown busy, city location”
It was a bit too noisy for us - people love using their car horns on Myanmar - something we weren't used to coming in from Bangkok! The hotel is central and on a very busy street but there were very few restaurants in the area. The staff in this hotel needed to be trained more - they walked into rooms without knocking, couldn't speak any English and then hovered for tips. The bathroom flooded every time you used the sink or shower, but beds were comfortable. Internet was slow, but then it was slow everywhere in Myanmar. The included buffet breakfast was substantial.

Basic hotel, co-operative staff, good breakfast”
Basic rooms but clean. Staff were kind enough to let us move one of our nights to when we returned to Mandalay for no extra charge. Decent breakfast on top floor looking out over the city.

small city...not much to see”
The hotel location is good. Room is ok but accommodation in Myanmar is quite expensive. Compare to other city in South East Asia, the price is quite high. But overall we're quite happy. Diring our stay in here.

Alright accommodation. ”
It was a decent place to stay, but there were better deals for the same value that just weren't on Agoda. It was also a very noisy hotel and the first night we stayed there was loud disco music next door which kept us awake.
