we had an amazing time at the Palm Beach Resort, we enjoyed the Time to the fullest with nothing else than relaxing. The place is secluded, this was exactly what we were looking for. he staff is very helpful and we loved the Food and Drinks.

Lovely staff but overpriced and not a good beach”
First let me state that the owners and their staff are WONDERFUL! They are so friendly and kind ... and very funny. We got to know them well chatting at the restaurant/bar. They made us feel very welcome. Thus, I am reluctantly giving this place a BAD REVIEW. I know Koh Rong means things are more expensive .... and I know that New Years is extreme peak season, but we paid an outrageous price for this charming but funky resort. It was NOT worth it. There are some pretty serious draw back to Palm Beach Bungalow Resort: The beach is crap, really terrible. You have your choice of sand with rocks and sea urchins or mangrove swamp and sand. Neither is very nice at all. Really frustrating as Koh Rong has so many great beaches. There is only their restaurant and the food is uninspired to bad. There are no other options. On New Years Ever we had to pay $25 for a TERRIBLE BBQ meal. Gross. Hot and sweaty bungalows = several miserable nights. Many mosquitos from the abandoned pool.

    Great stay”
Palm beach was a lovely stay, we were in Cambodia for 3 weeks and this was the nicest! Staff were friendly and accommodating. Rooms were lovely and clean, food was great, they have games to play which we enjoyed while waiting for food. You’re able to hire out kayaks and snorkels, recommend the walk to lonely beach but look out for huge water buffalo and the plankton tour was really good fun!

We stays there for two nights, and it was really great, lay down under the sun, swimming, snorkeling and see plankton with Lin were super awesome, very kind and funny guy who joke a lots. The owner and staff are plus, a lot of warning before you get there which also really helpful. Thank you for making our trip awesome

    Beautiful peaceful location.”
Relaxing boat trip across from Sihanoukville to Koh Rong on the Palm Beach ferry. Lovely, friendly staff. I booked a beach front bungalow, and it was perfect. Comfortable bed, mosquito net, hammock on the porch. Ideal! Food is good, and kitchen happy to change your order to suit dietary requirements. Would recommend for a quiet time on a beautiful beach island.

    DONT IGNORE THIS REVIEW!”
A very unpleasant experience, the staff were insanely rude and very money-driven. The host only seems to like Dutch or French speaking people, and the place is a dump. There is garbage everywhere, food is overpriced and terrible, nothing is maintained (kayaks have holes in them), and the beach is full of sea urchins and sand fleas. The staff were so rude it made us feel uncomfortable to be there. DONT GO HERE!!!

    Slice of Paradise”
If you would like a perfect little get away from the hustle bustle, yells for tuk-tuks, screams of the main land and unwind for some time on holiday, then look no further! The bungalows are all you need to have a detox from the world around you. The bungalows themselves are spacious and equipped with everything you need to relax, including your own hammock on your balcony. Regardless if the sun is shining or its raining, you have the perfect hideout to let your inner child out! whether you're playing along to the island vibe or reading away! the food is to die for, I highly recommend you try that barracuda steak! we had it twice and I'm still dreaming of it! The activities are amazing too, do not miss out on seeing the bioluminescent plankton at night! To top it all off, the staff are amazing! Shout out to Raymond, legend dart thrower! give him a challege! Most importantly, very grateful to David, whose infinite knowledge of Cambodia guided the rest of our travels on the main land and were unforgettable! Thank you so much for having us! We hope we can come back soon!

Pros: Great food, tasty and big portions for value Peaceful setting with beautiful beach. Nearby local village to visit. Walk to the mountain, beach walks, fishing / snorkel / luminescent plankton trips. Good bar and friendly staff. Cons: Needs new mosquito nets. Bring repellent. Lumpy pillows.

    Very happy with our stay”
We wanted to visit the peaceful and quiet part of Koh Rong and that is just what you get at Palm Beach. The small resort is on a lovely stretch of beach with a beautiful jungle backdrop. Our bungalow was simple but really charming and comfortable with good beds and mossie nets. We appreciated how helpful and friendly all the staff is and the easy going vibe in the restaurant. Food is pretty good and reasonably priced considering you are 2 hours from the main land and they have to bring everything in. We would highly recommend doing the snorkel tour and boat ride with Craig to Lonely Beach. The beach there is much better for swimming and makes for a fun day trip. We had a great stay and would love to come back someday.

Palm beach is a great place to stay for a while.”
It’s an amazing, beautiful location. They created a piece of tranquil paradise. If you are not the kind of person that lies on the beach the whole day, don’t worry! There are plenty activities you can do for almost no cost. But lying on the beach for a whole day is also entirely possible! The owners and people who work there are friendly and will do their best that you come nothing short (within reason). They are involved with the locals, training and employing them in a sensible manner. The bungalows might be basic, but they are clean and private. There was a wide selection of food with good portions and many tasty drinks! Our favourite was the Barracuda steak! Keep in mind that this is a remote location, so try to inform yourself. They manage to keep a great, balanced resort so I think anybody can find what they are looking for. We got more than our money’s worth. Shout out to Raymond and Craig! The plankton kings! Thank you for the unforgettable memories!

Enjoyed my stay at Palm Beach Bungalow. The hosts were fabulous and even took a group of us for a walk into the neighboring village. The food was decent, but I suggest you order at non-peak times. When it gets busy the food quality goes down quite a bit. There is a variety of foods and cocktails and you are literally on the beach. Lots of seating areas/ hammocks for those looking for shaded spots or sunny spots. Peaceful and serene!!

Amazing beach and scenery, but not the best place to lay your head.”
I stayed here for 1 week. The beach is absolutely amazing and there are plenty of hammocks and beach chairs to chill out on, but that is as far as I can go with giving good reviews for this place. While the "resort" is located on a small and developing island there is still much more the staff and owners can do to improve the place based on how much they charge you to 1) get there, 2) sleep there, and 3) eat there. I had a beach front bungalow and the local was prefect, however, the cleanliness of my bungalow was subpar. There were gecko droppings everywhere and a rat ate my soap. When requesting room service I was informed that everything would be cleaned and changed, however that was not the case, my bedding wasn't changed and I had to hunt down the staff and make several request over the span of 2 hours to finally have my bedding and towels changed. I believe the local staff are over worked and underpaid and that the European owners are not concerned with upkeep and cleanliness.

    Think careful before you decide”
First, this resort cannot access by any ferry except their own ferry and they only have 1 ferry trip each day with departure time due to the weather and private ferry is crazy expensive. if you have a tight schedule such as catch fight at 1PM (like us) please think carefully. their boat is not fast ferry, it took 2 hours to get back Sihanoukville and many people got sea sick. When we arrived (around 9PM) by a private ferry because we stayed in Koh Rong Saloem. There were no food because the only restaurant we can access is the resort restaurant which was closed. we get in our rooms and saw 2 centipede in WC (about the little finger big). Resort staff said they are not harmful but who know? Toilet do not have push button, they only have a muddy Buckets of water for you to use . Water is very muddy, cannot take a bath, we had to buy some bottle of water to wash our face and brush teeth. Owners are frendly but staffs are not and they are not helpful at all. Sunrise was amazing.

Go there, great place! (book their ferry, check your email)”
We were pleasantly surprised by this place. Some reviews made it look very bad while it is actually great. The bungalows are basic and clean without AC and no hot water. It's far away from the party part and noise of the island which was what we were looking for. There are no other resorts or businesses in proximity but that's perfectly fine. You will be able to get snorkel equipment, kayak, bikes, games, books and a simple volleyball field to keep you busy. They also offer a half-day snorkel trip to coral island at a very reasaonable $15. We were looking for a chill getaway for a couple of days. The staff (while they might not look all look like it at first glance) is very friendly and welcoming. Also we noticed that the western owners treat the cambodian staff with a lots of respect and they seemed like a family. We appreciated it to stay in such an environment. The food is alright. We only think that the food and it's presentation could use a little more love.

A friend and I stayed in the Jungle Bungalow which had an amazing view of the water without being ground level to the beach where many of the other bungalows were located. The staff is amazing, and the food is excellent. I only wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely go on the sunset boat ride and swim with the plankton.

    Highly overrated ”
Backpacker bungalows, ie. no hot water no a/c, lots of bugs and other things inside, for a high price. The pool is out of commission and has been for years, one kayak that floats, all bikes are broken. If something breaks they don’t fix it. The food was mediocre on a good day. The service was second rate. The Cambodian staff were fine, the problem lies with the lazy expats. All in all a less than stellar experience for a high price. The island is gorgeous though.
