One of the cheapest hotel in Brunei”
This hotel is one of the cheapest in Brunei, BND50 deposit needed upon check in. A lot of restaurants and shopping malls, supermarket nearby, quite a short walk maybe around 500meter to Kiulap Mall. The saddest part, In order to go to the swimming pool, we need to get in to the restaurant or gym nearby... Which i feel not quite comfortable, so we ended didnt bring our son there, and he got very frustrated. Just wish they provide a short cut door to it. Apart of that, quite okay to stay there.. The room was spacious too.. Thanks.
Location is not so bad Parking is limited Price for the stay is fair Fitness zone is near the hotel No towel upon arrive but received immediate after request No shampoo available from the hotel Very good and polite staff
Mattress don't like a mattress, too hard, short of staff. The day I check out, I ask the reception to arrange their staff to help me take my luggage, and the reception simply tell me, they don't have staff, only she alone working that time. Toliet not clean, carpet inside the room too dusty, like 1-2 year no vacum. Not recommended this hotel to others.
Good place for a transit stay”
I had an 8 hour transit in Brunei. The Palm Garden turned out to be a good place for a transit stay. Communication about arrival details was quick and friendly. Airport transfers were included in the cost, pickup was on time. I was able to check-in early. The room was comfortable, clean and secure. Price was better than the other hotel options I considered. Will stay again.
Walking distance to Mall and shops. Everythings good except for the breakfast. Do not expect buffet breakfast with many choices of food. Came at 9 am only left 3 type of foods. Never had breakfast for the next 2 days.
Brunei's best gym?!”
Apparently the hotel's gym is among the best gyms in the whole country of Brunei, and according to rumors you might even see loyalties getting their workout done here. Now isn't that kinda awesome! Other than that, the hotel is situated a bit far from the city center, but we soon figured out that there's not much to do downtown so that wasn't exactly a loss. The hotel staff drove us for free to the night market and we got free pickup from the airport the day we arrived so all in all the price we paid per night is really a bargain. Rooms are really basic and could need a renovation but considering the free transportation and awesome gym this place would definitely be my first choice for a budget hotel in Brunei. I'll be back with a longer review and pictures on my blog adventuresofanette.
Journey To Brunei”
Booked the Palm Garden Hotel through the internet. It was stated free transport service from the airport vice versa and that is one of the reason I booked the hotel. However you need to contact the hotel even though you,ve mentioned your arrival time at the provided space during the booking. So sad to say when I arrived there,s no hotel transport waiting and we have to take a taxi as there is no other public transport available. That cost us B$22. The hotel room is spacious. However the hotel was supposed to provide 1 bottle mineral water for each everyday but sad to say they could not provide the supply for the number of occupants. Even though it's only one bottle short the hotel should be able to solve such a small problem. We didn.t complain but it reflects the attitude of the hotel staff to the quests.
5-star service, big rooms, free airport transfer”
Our stay in Brunei was made very convenient and enjoyable because of this hotel. SERVICES: They have friendly and accommodating staff. Ms Lorin Bugarin was very helpful throughout our stay. She referred us to good deals in terms of City Tour and where to eat. We were wandering the area like locals because of them. ROOMS: The rooms were BIG. Internet was fast and reliable and we really had a good sleep. Though minor noise from the construction somewhere, but it was actually tolerable. ACCESSIBILITY: This was located in a little secluded portion of BSB, but if you are into walking, food stalls are just a few minutes away from the hotel. FOOD: We did not try the hotel food, but there are good food stalls near the area- 1) BIG PAPPAS (5-10 min walk, along the food strip area). 2) FILIPINO Delights (same area) 3) AIKOS Sushi Buffet (for only 6 Brunei dollar, you get buffet access already- good food!). 4) VMR Chinese Food (5 min walk, ranging from 2-5 dollars for good meal). Overall would recommend this place for those who plan to visit BSB in the near future. For City tour, I'd recommend you ask for "Kuya Mike" he offers private tours for half the price than regular agencies. Enjoy Brunei!
Traditionally renovated hotel”
Traditionally renovated hotel (not like those with modern design). Friendly staff. Provide shuttle services to/from airport and city center which is really indispensable in Brunei. The breakfast is yummy as well.
I would love to recommend this hotel to each one of you that would love to visit Brunei. The value of money is I really appreciated though it's really up to the guest how they spend it. The location is just perfect for our taste. They observed cleanliness. The staffs are very accommodating, friendly and speak English perfectly. Their facilities are accessible and open for the guests.
value for money ”
location is near to food outlets and supermarket but takes about 7mins walk via a small lane. other than the fitness centre by wuchun and the energy kitchen, nothing much to look forward. the mattress is old and hard. rooms smell so I suggest you bring a purifier with essential oils. the walkway smells of smoking. there is a club upstairs and in the middle of night, people yelling. if you are a light sleeper, I highly recommend that you do not stay here. do bring your own bathroom slippers as this was not provided.
Value for money”
The hotel is quite near from the airport. The staff when i arrived was very attentive, she asked for my passport for the booking process. no hotel voucher needed for that purpose. The room that I stayed was cool, swimming pool view. Room was clean. Complete with the 'mini bar'. Aircond was good, cold and the water heater was well functioned. But then, the hotel wifi was not that good as the connection was very slow. Sometimes, I can get connected, but sometimes no connection at all. If I want to have an excellent connection, I need to go to the lobby. The shops nearby is just walking distance from the hotel. I took my leisure time to have a walk looking for breakfast at the nearby area (Qlap) where I found many interesting shops. This boutique hotel is suitable for those who are travelling with limited budget. In the near future, I would come back and try the gym as well as the swimming pool.
I was happy that they provided free airport transfer as I landed around 2 a.m. everything was nice and easy. The staff were very helpful--they helped me arrange a taxi pick-up and drop off to the city center, as it's around 15 minute drive to the city of BSB. I love the restaurant where they serve the breakfast at.
The overall stay in this hotel is great, the only problem will be transportation. But, we still manage to rent a car with the assistant of hotel management. Healthy breakfast was serve and the staff is nice and polite.
Nice hotel, great staff as well.”
WE had a great time. The breakfast was good (healthy food choices and healthy cooking method used). The airport pick up was free and what was really great about this hotel was that there were lots of kababayans. We felt at home. Service was okay.
Basic and Affordable Hotel”
Location is a bit hard to find as it is quite hidden and no signboards showing the way to the hotel. No restaurant for breakfast but you can order either Set A, B or C and the hotel staff will deliver to your room. Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby.
Delivered exactly as required”
Comfortable, convenient for my uses, tea and coffee facilities in the room, easy to book. Only negative was the fact that WiFi internet connection only available in the lobby and then had some coverage difficulties. Would have been nice to have coverage in the room in more relaxing circumstances.
A nice hotel to stay in. Friendly staff, nice rooms, good TV, comfortable bed, quiet. The wifi was a bit slow though. The restaurant attached to the hotel serves really good food, I can highly recommend the honey glazed lamb chops!
good service and spacious hotel room”
the staff at the reception were very helpful and friendly. when we had to ask for packed breakfast as we had to leave the hotel before breakfast time on 2 mornings, isaac was very helpful and managed to get the cafe to prepare them. karen was also very quick to liaise with the hotel's network of hired cars to get a car for us. She even took a step further to find road maps for us. thank you isaac and karen. the 5-day stay was comfortable as the twin room was spacious. housekeeping did a good job tidying up everyday. the pantry was replenished everyday too, so we need not worry about drinking water.
Good hotel and room”
I saw criticism before we booked that the hotel was hard to find and too far from the city?? Not true. We walked to the city easily and the Hotel is only 5 min walk to the biggest shopping center. 4 min walk to the Gadong night market which is a great place to wander and eat a large variety of "street stall food". Delicious!
