Good bedroom, Disappointing staff”

We stayed 2 nights to relax from a harsh trip to bromo and to visit Ijen. Altough the room stink to naphthalene and the views were quite bad, it was a spacious room with a confortable bed. The hotel facilities are nice and you can enjoy a decent local dinner in an outdoor lounge by the garden (even you have to wait a long time). We asked the crew to help us to hire a driver to Gunung Ijen (it takes like 3 hours to get there), we agree having a driver at 4am for 650.000ird, but by that time there was no one waiting for us in the lodge as we have agreed and prepayed, they forgotten booking our tour, finally, 1:30h later another driver came and we took the tour. When we were back in the afternoon to the hotel, We had to bargaing to pay less as we didn't get the service we had agreed, and we finally payed 550.000ird, it was like a meat market... In addition, in the evening we met another gueste staying at Palms hotel, that were also having problems with the tour to Ijen, because they have prebooked in advance for 600.000 ird (not 650.000 ird as we were offered) but when they get to the hotel they ask them to pay 750.000 ird! Finally, they also manage to get the price agreed at the beginning but having to bargaing a lot and calling others hotels in Bondowoso to get better prices and being able to negociate with Palms hotel... Quite bad, so staff not really servicefull and sometimes tricky so we cannot recommend them

We stayed here as a resting point before Ijen. Double room is big enough for 4 people. Toiletries provided. Hotel restaurant is not cheap but not overpriced either. Value for money.

Helpful reception staff”

Reception staff were exceedingly helpful in arranging transport to Kawah Ijen. They helped us to plan our itinerary in order to get back to Surabaya airport in time for departure, and packed our breakfast to go. Wi-fi was only available in the hotel lobby.

Short stop over”

We were offered a private driver to take us to ijen Volcano as we were told it was the only way to get there. Initially we were told we could share the fare with another couple but when we went to book the couple didn't exist. We paid for it as private and we were two females. It ended up being one of the scariest experiences we have had. The driver every 10minutes kept stopping on remote roads telling us he was waiting on a friend. We were so scared. We eventually got to ijen quite late and just made the blue flame and sunrise but only because we were fit enough to climb quickly. Don't get a very expensive car from this hotel. It was old, no air com and no seatbelts. The hotel itself was the worst we have stayed in to date.

Nice place with standard services for budget hotel and the most interested was you could share the pool with other people like a water park and very crowded..awesome.

Average hotel, not worth money paid”

- rooms were old, full of ants. - very poor take-away breakfast (boild egg + tosts...) - hotel swimming-pool crowded with local people. - communication barrier with hotel staff (really poor english both at the reception and at the restaurant)

*Noisy. A weding was taking place under our bedroom but it was the same as we were invited to it * Bad attention. The hospitality was good till we said no to a tour the suggested to go to Ijen. After that they were, I would say, rude. * The room is like an office * The location is fine * Breakfast is not very good.

Ancien hotel de standing au charme vieillissant”

Agréable séjour grace au charme de cette ancienne demeure coloniale et à la gentillesse du personnel. Malheureusement le faible niveau d'anglais et le manque de formation de l'équipe fait que le service n'est pas toujours à la hauteur des attentes. Café infect et petit déjeuner médiocre. La piscine est superbe mais les hôtes locaux semble avoir peu l'habitude de voir des femmes et des jeunes filles s'y baigner en maillot de bain. Sensation assez désagréable.

Bien dans l'ensemble, la réception est efficace, le bar gagnerait à avoir des gens plus efficaces, une caisse avec de la monnaie et des serveurs dynamiques ainsi que.... des verres!!!! Le restaurant est lamentable, service inexistant, nourriture à peine mangeable, des boissons pas forcément fraîches, une mise en place sans professionnalisme aucun... une catastrophe! Il existe sur la même rue 400 mètres avant un restaurant avec chanteurs super et pas cher.... La boutique proche du restaurant par contre est bien tenue, personnel sympa et ATM juste devant.

les plus: tres grande piscine qui permet de nager les moins: pesonnel qui ne pense qu'a vous vendre des visites/transports afin de se prendre sa commission. chambre vieillote voire sale et infestée de cafards et fourmis pour les chambres a coté de la salle mosquée petit déj minimaliste avec un personnel qui ne parle pas anglais et qui mélange tout !
