conviently place very close to the ferry. Fine for a short stay.”
Everything was ok., but the staff were not particularly friendly or communicative. The island is idyllic so it’s hard to go too wrong here. Breakfast was excellent. Would recommend somewhere further from the centre for a longer stay, as if the locals are having a karaoke night, the din is awful. Eat at The Garden restaurant. The food and service is excellent.

Exceptional”
Very nice place to relax and enjoy the quiet life of people on this island. There are plenty of nice restaurants, enough available grosseries, good choice of tours, atm and currency exchange available for reasonable rates, wifi available in the facility and in most restaurants and caffees, very friendly and pleasant people. The owner and staff of Pan's Guesthouse are very kind, sweet and helpful and will try to do their best in making their guest feel comfortable. If you need anything just let them know. We would go back to this and no other place on this island if we would ever come again to this place.

Bungalow with private veranda & river view ”
Individual bungalows at river front, with private veranda. Very basic inside. Within walking distance to restaurants, bike rental, small shops of island village. That was already all of the advantages. We got the impression that bungalow had not been used for a while due to cleanliness (spiderwebs all over, gecco dirt, dusty toilet seat, disgusting shower curtain). Moscito net existed, but was dirty and with holes. It seems that Mr. Pan owns a total of 3 different accomodations (named: guesthouse, Bungalows, residence), which made it difficult to distinguish at time of booking, in view of confusing pictures. However, breakfast is for all 3 types served at the same restaurant. Once, we were the first to appear for breakfast (at 7:10 a.m.) and had to wait more than 30 min. until it was prepared and served! The owner has also got a travel agency, but was never around and staff does either not speak English nor could arrange tours.

The waterfront bungalow was the best. Super relaxing, clean, cute porch with chairs and hammock. Good breakfast. Highly recommend this guesthouse.

Exceptional”
Great little bungalows right on the water! Well located within Don Khon central area with restaurants and shops to buy snacks at. Very relaxing and quiet. Only noise is the sound of the boats starting their engines in the morning here and there, but you will hear that anywhere in Don Khon or Don Det if you stay on the water. We spent a total of 5 nights here and wished we could have stayed longer. Also close to bike rental shops and an easy bike ride to the waterfalls and across the bridge to Don Det. For breakfast they give 4 or 5 options and you order what you want, always tasted great!

Cute bungalows with nice location”
The bungalows were spacious and clean. We didn't have many dealings with the staff but they all seemed nice enough. The location is good, on the main road near lots of bars and restaurants but still quiet. Also right on the river so good views. The beds were not very comfortable but that's about the worse thing you can say. Their breakfasts were really good.

Poor value for money”
Great location, but the facilities and level of maintenance are rubbish. The wi-fi didn't work, no soap in the bathroom, only 2 sachets of shampoo. hopeless shower Generally quite scruffy The breakfast was just about adequate but the coffee was awful If it had been less than $10 a night I wouldn't have minded. But for the kind of money charged it was very poor value

Good location ”
It is just 3-5 min away from the pier. Its restaurant is good and also there is a lovely french restaurant in its neigborhood. We loved their soy milk yorgurt and banana jam (both home made). the GH owner arranged us a boat and a shared van to Pakse in the morning so we could arrive there around 11 (the van got more local people on the way). It was a pity that he was not there often and we were not able to get his tips often.

Quiet,peaceful and relaxing.”
Room was clean. Beautiful view of the Mekong river from the front porch. No TV (a plus. Gives you an opportunity to unplug from mass media and unwind.) The guesthouse restaurant's food choices were limited. There are better options on the island.

Overall good stay- mosquitos were in the room from cleaning”
We enjoyed staying at Pan's with a hammock and view of the river for a few nights, but when we got to our room the windows had been left open and there were a good amount of mosquitos inside. They went away after the first day or so, but it made us a little uncomfortable. They have a good breakfast though, and pretty good wifi! It's a great location too.

a place to relax :)”
We had our most relaxing days on our 6 month trip here! It is a good place to take a break from travelling and all the adventours you join. There's not much else to do than cycle around the island and visit the waterfalls or the dolphins. Not many people on don khone. There are some really good restaurants around and the breakfast in pan's guesthouse is very good as well :)

Excellent stay!”
We booked the Guesthouse but got a family room in Pan's Residence, with nice river view (close to boat landing) from balcony with hammocks etc. Perfectly OK, nice and quiet room. Good breakfast, only interrupted by monks alms giving ceremony at 6:30 in the morning ;-) We rented bikes to cross Don Khone and Don Det and actually spotted one dolphin fin!!!

Nice surroundings and good value for money ”
I stayed in a double bedroom with a view to the garden. Or to the pathway. But it was green and very cozy and you had a little terrace where you could sit outside if you wanted. Had a bungalow feeling to it. Very close to the two big restaurants in "town" and you could hire bicycles around the corner. Bike and see the waterfall. It's a little bit longer to go the north side and take a boat trip to see the dolphins, but it's totally manageable. I didn't spot any dolphins but it was a nice boat trip anyway. They say it's best to go in the afternoon around 17.00. There's not much else to do on the island, so 2 days is enough if you don't just wanna hang around and maybe visit don det aswell.

Quieter area of town”
If you're stopping in Vang Vieng, but don't want to be in the thick of things, this guesthouse is located across the airstrip from the main part of town. It's a bit quieter, with hammocks available outside. The owner is very informative.

guesthouse or bungalows- same, same, but different”
1. We booked the guesthouse with Mekong river view. 2. The stuff told us we did'nt book? 3. We showed him the voucher. 4. The staff gave us bungalow without riverview for one night. 5. Next day there was riverview available but at different site that is called Mekong Riverside Bungalow, nice view - no garden, somewhat older. So it is not the Guesthouse. 6. On our voucher all was named Guesthouse Riverside Bungalow - a mixtup thing wich is confusing. ,
