Mr Pan is very helpful and friendly and made us feel right at home. The breakfast was big with juice, omelette and pancakes with a mixture of fruit. We really liked that the bungalow was next to river and we could watch the sunsets.

Great location with view on the Mekong and very cosy terrace, mosquito nets around the beds, nice breakfast, aircon and fan: top! Shower pressure as good as non existent and long wait for some warmer water.

I thought the cost was a bit expensive vs other places but I still loved my bungalow here. They are a bit old but comfortable and spacious with a great balcony overlooking the river. Very quiet too.

Excellent location. ”
Situated next to the river. It was very pleasant sitting on the veranda and watching the world go by. Accommodation was basic, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was satisfactory. Situated near the French Bridge so lots of restaurants and bike hire nearby.

Great spot to watch Mekong flow by”
Great location near river and many restaurants and bike hire places. Mr Pan very accomodating and helpful with organising onward travel. A swimming pool is under construction and will be great addition when complete. Delicious breakfast. Don Khone is a lovely place to explore on bike and on foot.

Quite and cosy”
We loved the place. It is quite, comfortable and right at the Mekong River. it was rainy Season, which we loved. Not that hot and at Night when it rained it cooled down. Mosquitos were very less. We did all the waterfalls, zipling, kayak Tour and bike rental and had very easy going days. The breakfast was a bit disappointing and the staff a bit under motivated. But the bungalow itself was amazing.

Location location”
We moved over from Don Det to Don Khon in search of some peace and quiet. Pans Bungalows sits looking across the water watching the world go by so it’s location was perfect for us. The room was ok, big comfy bed with air con & mossy net. Kettle, fridge and a hot shower, it’s in no way luxurious and is a little bit tired but did the job for us. We only had the included breakfast twice as it was quite basic and there were lots of flies but it was adequate. We stumbled on a restaurant that did fantastic food so we preferred to eat there.

Nice room, fair price. They are building new rooms right next to here so there is some construction noise. But that is only complaint

Overpriced”
This was so expensive relative to other places, many of which are much nicer. First. You have to want the location. I found don Khone too isolated, too quiet. Plus the Lao ferry decided not to define don khone when I was crossing, despite clear signs and ticketing for don khone vs do deht. It is a n additional 20 minute $5 tuk tuk ride from don deht to don khone, coming and going. But aside from that personal preference. This is one is the higher priced places on either island. . But it is just a simple bungalow, rustic. Set facing the river but set back. Totally fine bungalow but relative to other places - which are nicer- it is double the price. Second there was no staff to be found. I did check in with a nice woman, but she did not speak any English so no information: after that I saw a sweet woman who cleaned, but no staff in the office. I left early, went to don diet paying literally half the price for much nicer accomodations.

Great place, amazing view”
We stayed four nights at the Pan's Bungalow and had a really pleasant stay. Our bungalow was clean, well-furnished and air-conditioning was working perfectly. Mosquitoes net was impeccable and bed very comfortable. The strong point of this place was the balcony/terrace where we chilled in our hammock and long-chairs overlooking the Mekong river. It is a really a peaceful and quiet place. WiFi signal very strong and reliable (the best we had in one month in Laos). Breakfast was included and pretty delicious with a choice among four set menus. Juice was fresh, coffee was good and the baguette was excellent. They even accepted to offer us a glass of milk when I was not able to drink any tea or coffee. Staff was nice but we didn't really interact with any members, except upon check-in. Location is perfect, on Don Khon Island, very close to many restaurants. We definitely recommend this lovely place.

Nice option on Don Khon”
Pan's Bungalow is relatively pricy, but its nice if you're looking for quiet and your own private room and balcony on the Mekong. I had a rough arrival-- make sure you get the boat to Don Khon from the port, not Don Det. My ticket was supposed to get me to Don Khon but I didn't realize I had been handed a boat ticket to Don Det. When I asked on the boat, the driver said no and wanted to charge me more for a second drop off. No one on Don Det wanted to give me a ride, so I was walking in rain and mud with my pack until someone finally offered a ride (for a really high price). It should be waaay easier, just make sure you take the right boat- not like me. Room is very clean, has mosquito net, fan. Its simple. No wifi in the bungalow. I had an AC unit but no control, but I was ok with the fan. Bathroom is a little old but fairly clean. Deck furniture is really worn, but I was ok with it. I ate at their restaurant almost every meal- food is really good and a decent price. They have wifi there for you too. My sarong went missing and wound up on someone else's porch, can't explain why. Pan and his wife and family are really sweet, I enjoyed their presence at the restaurant. Another guest hated staying there and yelled and left, so maybe its not for everyone, but I had no problems.

quiet and clean bungalow in great area”
Decided to stay in nicer accommodation at Don Khone (vs. Don Det). Hot showers, fan, A/C, large bungalow with great river views in quiet location. Stayed longer than intended. Able to rent bike and cycle to nearby waterfalls, beaches and sister island. Close to numerous restaurants and guesthouses to book tours for kayaking, dolphin seeing, waterfalls and fishing. Close to bridge. Super clean and spacious.

Veranda at the Mekong”
Great Bungalows, directly situated at the river, in the middle of don khone village, close to the bridge to don det. Sit on your veranda and watch the life on mekong. The room is simple but clean and has everything you need. An electric kettle, mosiqito net, good bathroom. Staff is really helpful and brrakfast was really tasty.

Nice, well located bungalow, great breakfast.”
I had a good time on Don Khone at Pan's bungalow. I enjoyed the Mekong view from the private terrace. The bed was confortable and AC worked well. Finally, the breakfast on the rooftop of the restaurant is great, because it is a buffet with quite some choice and a perfect view.

Great Bungalows, if a bit pricey”
Pan's is great! It's true that you can get a bungalow nearby for a litte cheaper, but I think you get what you pay for. The staff is super helpful, the food in the restaurant is great, and all in all it's just a great place to stay for your time on the island. With how cheap everything is on the island anyway, you should feel good about springing the extra $5 to stay here.

Great bungalow right on the water”
we received a phenomenal bungalow right on the water, looking out towards the southern edge of don det. the beds were extremely comfortable, the balcony and accompanying hammock relaxing, and the bathroom modern and clean. the owner was very helpful in organizing day trips as well as transportation for our departure.

Great stay for budget price”
Stilted bungalow's just allong the Mekong river with great sunset views. Rooms are clean, comfortable and spacy. Bathroom is clean, needs some update but for the price it's ok. Next to the road Pan's has a restaurant too where you can eat nice food for low prices, the restaurant offers free wifi too. Mr. Pan and his wife speak English and are very helpfull and nice people. They also offer laundry service, bikes for rent and bus ticketing. We realy loved this place and had a nice time.

Nice place with a great view”
We enjoyed our stay at Pan's quite a bit. The place was in a great setting right on the river, with a large balcony and hammocks. Is it near to a variety of restaurants, some quite good. The quality of the facility was nice overall, although we had to be moved to a new room because the door handle and lock of the first room didn't work. The new room had the same issue, although after a minute or two of work it would finally lock. Disappointing to have such a small thing become an issue.

Riverside relaxation”
We had a great stay. Sunset views and generally quiet surroundings. We enjoyed hanging out on the balcony and the activities in the area. We booked tours and our transfer to Cambodia through Pan's reception. They accepted Kip and US Dollars, which was helpful. Our room was clean and had a mosquito net. No hesitation in recommending it unless you're particularly sensitive to noise - there was building work going on next door during the day, but not early or late. It made the quiet seem even quieter!

Take your time and Chill”
Experience the life in a Bungalow by the Mekong river. Open a coconut and chill in your long chair. The building look like any other on Don Khone, but still, the comfort of the room was good, especially the large bed (with mosquito net). I regret we couldn't stay longer. The staff though was not really helpful, well, when they were around... Life on the island is slow, so take your time
