Panaji hotels & places to stay

We stayed in summer had taken 3rooms and the view was not good as our room were located on backside, the pool side is excellent and they served great breakfast there, as for as the rent is considered for the room the rates in menu card seems far fetched, highly expensive compared to similar hotel I stayed in panaji with good location with many more facilities and centrally air conditioning which this hotel lacks, The travel desk guy seemed bit tired and charged heavily for airport transfer, other wise it was excellent stay with best atmosphere in the evening for that I compliment Mr dempo the director of the hotel it's airy well lit and perfectly located.

We were welcomed wid a cold delicious juice by the front desk manager, guard helping with our luggage. Then we were helped to the room as we booked for the sea view.As we entered it was very clean, tidy, spacious beautiful room. Best part the balcony which has the most beautiful view where we witness the beautiful sunset. The location is good less crowded free from hustle bustle. Beach to walking distance.Food were good and hospitality each staff was appreciative. I will highly recommend Varanda doh mar if u wanna stay in Goa... thank you

Stay was excellent, as we got adjoining Privilege rooms as per request and with early check-in as well. Hotel's free pick up and drop arrangement for Vasco and Thivim station was very helpful in terms of time and also easy on the pocket. Excellent food in Chilli n Spice and Legacy of Bombay with additional 10-15% discount for people staying in the hotel. The service was very quick, you call at the reception for a thing and within a couple of minutes you hear a knock at the door to collect your stuff. The only glitch was the wifi, which fluctuated a lot, and the connection went on and off all the time and then when it goes off you have to reconnect it with the one time password which was cumbersome. Taxis for trip to north and south Goa are available all day just outside the hotel. Descent shopping places at walking distance, and nice scenic points and evening cruise point in close vicinity. Overall highly recommendable!!

I never expected my stay to be so smooth, although there were few small things that I did not like about the hotel, the politeness and helpfulness of the hotel staff more than covered for it. I don't think one can find a better value for money hotel than this one, worth every penny, this hotel will be on top of my list whenever I visit North Goa. The room was great, well maintained, the ambience was great, the breakfast was more than what a busy traveller could ask for ! I made this booking through Agoda, had a very smooth check-in and check-out. No Hidden charges etc...Overall 9/10 !

Locality is excellent, near to water Casino and Panjim Market just 3-5 min walk to Panjim Market, and 5 min taxi or Auto Ride to Goa Water casino on Mandovi river, and also 5 min Auto Or Taxi to the famous Panjim Church,This Hotel has a amazing Asian Restaurant good hospitality and good staff, clean and neat rooms, the complimentary wifi is fast, this hotel lacks in Facilites like gym, swimming pool or Play room or else it would be filled with tourist, never the less me and my wife loved it there, thanks 🙏 best Regards Kevin and Winifred, From Mumbai

We arrived in Panaji during a public holiday, so unfortunately everything was closed. Luckily, Mateus guesthouse offered a relaxing, clean, cool, and well-presented base to chill out and acclimatise to India. Our room and bathroom had some attractive design touches - as did the rest of the property - the air conditioning worked extremely well (a necessity in 40-degree heat), and the bed was comfortable. I was hoping for a few more choices at breakfast, and fresh coffee would have been nice. Overall though, we had a lovely stay and would recommend Mateus.

if you are staying in panaji, stay here! it is excellent and worth it. however, the wifi is a bit of a trouble because only 1 person is allowed to access it at one time and inconvenient since 2 of us need to use it to contact home or use it to book our next hotels etc. overall, it is still very clean and nice, staff are friendly and helpful. there is a nice shirt shop selling really funky shirts too and hotel provides water to refill which is eco-friendly. enjoyed our stay tremendously. down-the-road is a great place to chill and eat/drink which is just 15minutes walk away cross a bridge. great location because it is near the bus terminal and behind the hotel is the newly opened library which has an outstanding collection and good to pass-time in event that you have time to spare, give the library a visit! love ginger goa, outstanding.

Guest house location is great for visiting the original part of panaji and close to jetty with some good restaurants/bars close by. Area comes to life at night. Accomodation is small but functional - booked a room to accomodate 3 but given a double which was tight. Plug points in poor positions for charging mobile ect so small shelves would help. Room was not cleaned whilst staying and TV/WIFI signal kept dropping out. Clearly other parts of building still being renovated at the moment.

We can highly recommend this homestay. The owner was one in a million, genuinely friendly, informative and helpful. The rooms are all independently accessed but part of an old Portuguese house with loads of character. Nice quiet area of Panaji by a tree lined garden square. Great food options nearby and local wine/beer shops too! Also close to sea, market, town etc. Breakfast was included free (served on our balcony ..great fresh bread rolls fruit coffee and eggs!) and the owner provided bottled water regularly and a beer on arrival too...perfect after a long hot journey. Recommendations from Derek were all spot on. Room had good hot water showers, and a large fridge and sink area as a bonus. Derek dropped us off at the ferry on day 1 and bus station on day 2. And he even drove back to get my partner's glasses (which he had left behind when we were rushing to catch the bus) and drove back again to give them to us. All completely unasked, he turned a bad moment at the start of our stay in Goa into a really special one. What a nice guy!

I have travelled many places around the world, been in all types of hotels, but Afonso is beyond what anyone can expect. It is an adorable, enchanting boutique hotel where you get much more of what you expected. Warmth, love, attention, friendship and the most lovely rooms. The hotel has taken care of each and every detail to make people happy. Every detail has been carefully thought out. You will find in every space big or small the hand of an artist who placed something beautiful that will inevitably catch your eye. My best stay ever.

I loved my stay here in Panaji. Royal Phoenix Inn is located in a quiet backstreet right next to the Hanuman Temple and backing on to the forest on Panajis hillside. The centre of town can be reached by a pleasant 30min walk over the hill and the bus station is only 15min walk away across the river. The rooms are beautifully and minimally decorated in Moorish-style and are clean and comfortable and staff ate friendly and helpful.

Rooms & washrooms were clean ! but everything else is a minus point for La Capitol. Staffs were very unfriendly. When I came back to hotel & it was raining - restaurant was closed at 6 PM. No staff can be sent out to buy some food nor they can speak english. A staff lied to me as if he went out to check any shops were there & told everything was closed. I had to personally go out to see if I can get something to eat as i was starving ! in the 3rd minute of my walk i found 3 places where I could eat. Only the early morning staff at reception was helping - none of the others seem to care for the guests.

Location is good. Right in the old quarter. I stayed during monsoon season, mid- July for three nights. I had a small single room. Great wi-fi connection in my room. My room faced St. Sebastian Road and it was lovely to hear the singing from the old church just at the end of the street early Sunday morning from my window. I only ate breakfast there. Good coffe but the meal was fixed and disappointing considering the rate this hotel charges. Interior of the hotel is well placed but a tad conservative for me especially the dining area. I was the only guest and the hotel was very quiet which was the best feature. Nice stay, but in my opinion not worth the high rate charged. I stayed at the Crown Royal previous, and the employees there were exceptional and a nice variety at the buffet breakfast. I had an expensive pair of Bose ear buds taken from my room. Unexplained lost. Disappointing.

We chose this hotel because is located very close to the venue of a conference that we had to attend, having a much affordable price. The general condition of the hotel is good, but the cleanliness could have been better. They didn't even change the rubbish bin in five days... not mentioning room cleanliness. Breakfast was nothing special, very few things to choose and low quality. The guy of the reception desk was very helpful, always helping and opening and closing the door even at late times.

the hotel palacio de goa. is a perfect place in the heart of panjim. it is slightly back from june 18th road so is easy to find but also very quiet location. the hotel is old but has been modernised very tastfully and is fresh ans exceptionally clean and bright. but the best feature apart from the great breakfast, many dishes to choose from and all hot, a trribute to the catering staff. are the front of house door men. always with a smile even they seem to work all the time. we extended our stay because we enjoyed the hotel and panjim very much. i would definitly return and would recommend it very highly.
