Not too bad but smelly room”
Not the worst place Ive stayed by any means but I dont think I would stay there again, the room had a smell to it, kind of damp musty - I was a little worried about mould and getting sick from one night there. I didnt end up getting sick but the smell was really not pleasant. The pool also didnt seem very clean at all, after 5 mins of swimming we realized how dirty it was and got out to shower. Even the shower water was salty! Yikes. The staff there are nice though!
Good budget resort”
We stayed in the native nuts for 3 nights and moved to a standard double room for another night. Overall, the native hut was great, spacious and inviting. The cons included that absence ( total absence) of intimacy; we could hear and clearly understand our neighbors argueing for hours... which was a bit weird. Further, the shared toilet was an issue, especially when the other room locked our door from the inside without unlocking it... we had to knock at their door to be able to go to the toilet, which again was weird. Of course all these issues were inexistent in the standard room ( private bathroom and concrete walls), but which was a bit expensive for the value in my opinion. Breakfast is good, the pool is not really inviting but the little resto-island was quite cute to hang out. Overpriced restaurant otherwise. Location: far from alone beach ( which was what we wanted) we rent a motorbike and we could go easily around panglao and bohol. Would stay again.
Good place to stay”
Rooms are spacious and clean. Bad thing that the wall is so thin that when person in other room is snooring it looks like he sleeps in your bed. Shared bathrooms with other room. So its good if other room is empty.
This hostel is absolutely superb, the staff are friendly, helpful, full of local knowledge and go the extra mile. The facilities are cleaned daily, rooms are spacious, air conditioned, , free wireless internet.
Relaxing place, Good staff, but Terrible bathroom”
The place is nice. We stayed at a fan room with shared bathroom, which I didn't know when I booked it, I probably didn't see it as I wouldn't have booked this if I knew that as the water in the sink leaks, the toilet clogged (this was after the guests from the other room used it) very disgusting, flush didn't work sometimes. Other than the bathroom issues, the place is relaxing and nice. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is clean and the bed is comfy.
The manager from Germany was a pleasant man, very thoughtful. But as a American combat veteran and also resident of the Philippines, many guests insulted my country...my way of life and worst “my President”. I found this shocking when they had not right to attack our sitting president. I will not condem all of Europe but these people need to be realistic and show respect.
Highlight would be the staff ofcourse, theyre always smiling and doing what they can to help in anyway. Complimentary breakfast is great, good kick to the day and the philipino options i went for were all really good. The Pool table is in good condition and [ppool is cleaned well。 Had the Fan room, the rooms bathroom is shared with the opposite room. Its rather awkward because sometimes the other person forgets to unlock the door. The water for showering is recycled sea water and the pressure for the shower head is really strong and cant be turned low its annoying really. My toilet seat was broken. My fan room however could sleep 4 to be honest really big space and had a bunk just without mattress on it. Theres a regular Shuttle service to Alona beach and costs 50PHP one way. The hotels location is quite far from Alona and White Beach is near but around 10minutes walk. Would stay again.
Resort is pretty good ”
Pretty good! Just that dont like the idea of sharing a toilet to other guests in the neighbor room
Excellent resort, friendly staff, would stay again.
VALUE FOR MONEY IT IS!”
We stayed for 3 days and two nights in their suite just by the pool and it was really huge. The air conditioning works well but there is also a fan that you can use. We ended up using the fan as it was quite cold at night since the room was surrounded by trees. There is a safety box in the room where you can keep your valuables. The staff were so accommodating to our requests. We called to check if we can do an early check in as we arrived earlier at Tagbilaran Port earlier than expected and they let us in. We rented their motorbike for 1 day but asked for a few hours extension as we have not yet consumed the gas we bought and they were okay with it. As I work online with a Canadian client, I had to stay late at their hall to use their wifi and the staff stayed until I finished which was already very late at night. We asked for mineral water refills several times but they'd always give us sealed bottled water at no extra fee. The breakfast was just so-so but for the price we paid, it was more than what we expected. The pool is actually bigger than how it looks in the photos. As for the location, the resort is far from Alona Beach approximately 15 minutes by motorbike but it is very near to White Sand Beach and less than 10-minute motorbike ride to Dimuluan Beach.
just a village”
It’s really affordable price to stay for backpackers especially on the New Year’s holidays. If you wanna go to the beautiful Alona beach, there is nothing but renting a motorbike! Be careful to ride it around due to unpaved roads and reckless riders, and you’ll run at a full speed riders without helmets or licenses ; ) I stayed at the dormitory 3days, 2 nights, and celebrated the upcoming New Year of 2016 at the beach with my roommates from other countries. Fireworks, drinking, dancing and shouting the music! That was totally crazy! By the way, when walking around the Alona, I trampled down a sea urchin and needles stuck me into a sole of my right foot! This happened twice in the Philipines. Tragedy! Soon a lifeguard called me a taxi to the hospital, where a nurse healed my injury courteously in spite of doctor’s absence. I really appreciate all their kindness.
Good place to stay near beach (10 mins walk) Good value Nice restaurant Would consider staying again
Nice place , nice service ”
We had been here 1 night. Everything is ok. But we didn’t like a tree in the middle of room)) it’s unusual
The staff arent helpful if i could only summarize my experince..no costumer service for this hotel”
Staff dont go extra mile...i had one last meal coupon is just a matter of 30 minutes late from breakfast time..they cant accept it at all to think theyre hotel is a home feel like environment and not 5star..
The resort is good value for the money and very affordable. You can even rent a motorbike for P400/ day. The staff are very friendly but I think they are understaffed and they get overwhelmed with guests frequently. The facilities are okay, not a lot of room to relax outside your room. The pool was built around a small dining area, about 10-12 tables. Which means you can't really take a dip on the pool without having the people hanging out at the restaurant watching you. The pool could make use of frequent change of water since the water looks a tad murky. Someone puts chlorine on it about every morning while I stayed there. For the location, it wasn't bad for us as a family. We literally stayed in the resort to sleep and refresh. We did a lot of tours so we were gone mostly during the day. But if you want a resort where you can just walk outside and find restaurants, shops and bars, this resort is not for you. Alona Beach is about 15-20 mins bike ride.
the resort was great with some nice food it was nice having breakfast and dinner near the pool can i just say the breaky was amazing here with plenty of coffee and variety id defo go back here
Near Alona and white beach. Peaceful. Staffs are friendly and accommodating.
Place is clean, staff are friendly and accomodating, our native room is highly recommended
Not a great choice of restaurants bars within walking distance, quite area?
The place is good, where is near to the place for boat hiring. Thus we can go to sea earlier. But the swimming pool seems dirty, so we dont let kids go into swimming.
