In and around Pantai Kok

More about Pantai Kok

Northwest of Langkawi Airport, Pantai Kok is a quiet resort community with several natural tourist attractions. There’s an up-market atmosphere here around the marina that’s not as evident at Pantai Cenang and other districts of Langkawi.

Life in Pantai Kok centers on the resorts of Burau Beach. It’s isolated from the rest of the island’s main resorts, so tourists based here enjoy seclusion and a low-key environment. Telaga Harbor is onsite, and many of the vacationers spending time in Pantai Kok are yachters. Anyone can charter a boat and crew for a day at sea.

Set back from the beach, Oriental Village is a commercial park with up-market boutiques and international restaurants. During the day, visitors can lounge in landscaped gardens or stop by a café. In the evening, live music plays at a few of the nicer restaurants. Most of the hotels in Pantai Kok are near Oriental Village.

Tickets for the Langkawi Cable Car can be purchased in Oriental Village. The car whisks tourists to observation platforms on Mount Mat, all the way to the sky bridge located 700 meters above sea level. The view over Pantai Kok is outstanding. Those who would rather get some exercise can hike part of the way to the top, stopping by Seven Wells Waterfall where it’s possible to go swimming in pool below the falls.
