"we had a swift check in. the premier room was spacious with 2 double beds. fitted our family of four perfectly. the beds were well made with crisp clean white sheets and duvet covers. however only 2 towels were provided and they could only give us one extra bath towel (hotel policy, according to the staff). the air con was super efficient with additional ceiling fan. large lcd tv with ample tv channels. the lighting was poor resulting in a dimly lit room at night! location: short drive to nearby shops & foodstalls/ restaurants in pantai tengah & pantai cenang. not advisable to walk or cycle though as the road leading to the hotel is rather dark & quiet especially at night. there is a medium sized swimming pool with kids pool but no beach here unfortunately. this is the 3rd time i stay here since 2008 & i will stay here again in the near future.! "The staff were friendly and superhelpful. The rooms were clean and if staying in a sea view rooms, try to request for the highrr floors for a superb sunset view. Not far for Pantai Tengah and Pantai Cenang beaches, with lots of nearby restaurants. The facilities for children were also great to kill time on a rainy day"

Frangipani Langkawi Resort
Pantai Tengah,Pantai Tengah - View on map
"The resort was amazing, right on the beach which was beautiful! The staff were really helpful and the food was nice! The mango smoothie and fruit platter was our favourite. Was really impressed with our room, amenities, location, and service. Check-in was friendly and efficient and we were in our garden villa within minutes. The villa was spacious and had a large FS TV, fridge and security safe.No wifi in rooms but you can get it at the resort’s common areas for free. Loved the outdoor shower and the beds were firm and comfortable. I must commend the management on housekeeping (which is generally poor in Malaysia). They have a freshwater and saltwater pool, and the beach is so close and clean! A walk to Pantai Tengah shops and restaurants was only 5-10 mins away. Breakfast was pretty good and had a decent variety. As we've done most of the trips on previous visits we spent our days lying by the pool/beach and making frequent trips to the bar.The most noticeable (and best) thing about the hotel was how quiet it was. No screaming kids, no large families, no annoying pool bar music - mainly couples just relaxing and quietly chilling out. Pool/beach loungers were plentiful and we never had a problem finding somewhere suitable to sunbathe. Pantai Cenang has change so much over the last 3 years - it's now horrible. Too much traffic, building work, McDonalds, Starbucks, shopping malls etc - we come to Langkawi to escape from this generic tat. Only visited a view times but it was a pleasure getting back to the tranquillity of the Frangipani in Pantai Tengah. I would definitely return to this place and recommend it to others! "

The Royale Chenang Resort

"Came across this resort while browsing on Agoda due to its high user rating. We stayed 3 nights here for IronMan Langkawi event.. very very very happy indeed with the overall experience. The location is at Pantai Tengah, bordering on Pantai Cenang.. short distance to all the havoc of Cenang's food and entertainment, but we prefer the peaceful and quiet nature of the area when we return to our room for good rest and undisturbed sleep. the staff are friendly and very accommodating. we had a late flight but they provide us room even after check out to refresh, pray and short rest before leaving to the airport. The breakfast is adequate, my son loves the pancakes. Every spot in the compound is instgrammable - plus points! The owner and staffs are 100% local people. Overall, highly recommended! "

"Nice, well-maintained hotel - great beach location, good pool, quieter area in Pantai Tengah but still close to the busier Pantai Cenang. Free breakfast was decent, free mini bar a nice touch. Good base to explore Langkawi, either booked via their tour desk or with Grab."

La Villa Langkawi - Private Pool
Pantai Tengah,Pantai Tengah - View on map
"Pros: Clean private pool, Very professional staff, Great In-room breakfast spread, Peaceful and relaxing environment, Daily housekeeping, Daily stock up of complimentary mini bar, Free shuttle to/from Pantai Cenang, Comfy bed, Large rainfall shower head, Staff willing to go the extra mile Cons: Open roof concept for the pool area so do expect ‘visitors’ such as bats, insects and lizards to pay a visit. Shower area does not have any privacy from bedroom so this villa is more suitable for couples. However they do have plans to build more family-friendly rooms so we’re definitely looking forward to that. "

More about Pantai Tengah

Pantai Tengah is a continuation of Pantai Cenang. It lies to the south of the busy resort district and offers vacationers a quieter atmosphere with less commercialism and a better selection of secluded beaches.

Since the hotels in Pantai Tengah are tranquil and affordable, they rate well with families on holiday as well as couples looking for a romantic escape. There isn’t as much of a party atmosphere here, but there are still a few beach bars where patrons enjoy sunset cocktails or a casual evening out with a little live music.

Most of the attractions are to the north in Pantai Cenang. This is the kind of resort destination where visitors do little more than enjoy time on the beach. The fact that most of the dedicated attractions are off-site only adds to the seclusion of the area.

The best duty-free shops are also to the north, but Pantai Tengah has its own selection of boutiques selling gifts, handicrafts and clothing. There are a few stalls on the coast selling beach accessories and cheap souvenirs.

Star Cruise Jetty is operated by one of the main hotels in Pantai Tengah. It operates service to Peninsular Malaysia and Southern Thailand, so it’s possible to arrive in Pantai Tengah directly without connecting through Kuah as most ferry passengers do.
