Pantai Tengah hotels & places to stay

we had a swift check in. the premier room was spacious with 2 double beds. fitted our family of four perfectly. the beds were well made with crisp clean white sheets and duvet covers. however only 2 towels were provided and they could only give us one extra bath towel (hotel policy, according to the staff). the air con was super efficient with additional ceiling fan. large lcd tv with ample tv channels. the lighting was poor resulting in a dimly lit room at night! location: short drive to nearby shops & foodstalls/ restaurants in pantai tengah & pantai cenang. not advisable to walk or cycle though as the road leading to the hotel is rather dark & quiet especially at night. there is a medium sized swimming pool with kids pool but no beach here unfortunately. this is the 3rd time i stay here since 2008 & i will stay here again in the near future.!

The resort was amazing, right on the beach which was beautiful! The staff were really helpful and the food was nice! The mango smoothie and fruit platter was our favourite. Was really impressed with our room, amenities, location, and service. Check-in was friendly and efficient and we were in our garden villa within minutes. The villa was spacious and had a large FS TV, fridge and security safe.No wifi in rooms but you can get it at the resort’s common areas for free. Loved the outdoor shower and the beds were firm and comfortable. I must commend the management on housekeeping (which is generally poor in Malaysia). They have a freshwater and saltwater pool, and the beach is so close and clean! A walk to Pantai Tengah shops and restaurants was only 5-10 mins away. Breakfast was pretty good and had a decent variety. As we've done most of the trips on previous visits we spent our days lying by the pool/beach and making frequent trips to the bar.The most noticeable (and best) thing about the hotel was how quiet it was. No screaming kids, no large families, no annoying pool bar music - mainly couples just relaxing and quietly chilling out. Pool/beach loungers were plentiful and we never had a problem finding somewhere suitable to sunbathe. Pantai Cenang has change so much over the last 3 years - it's now horrible. Too much traffic, building work, McDonalds, Starbucks, shopping malls etc - we come to Langkawi to escape from this generic tat. Only visited a view times but it was a pleasure getting back to the tranquillity of the Frangipani in Pantai Tengah. I would definitely return to this place and recommend it to others!

Aseania Resort Langkawi is a classy 217-room resort located on 7.519 acres of land along the beach of Pantai Tengah in Mukim Kedawang, Langkawi. Boasting its own mini water park and a 154.4 meter long swimming pool recognised as the longest pool in Malaysia by The Malaysian Book of Records, Aseania Resort Langkawi’s water park also contains other wonderful attractions such as a wave pool, slides and lazy river.

wonderful hotel close to the beach behind a beautiful garden. the rooms are basic, but very clean and in good conditions. my room was to the beach side which was perfect. the owners are very friendly and helped me with all my questions about sightseeing and tours around the island. you've got free w-lan access at the reception area. the hotel is located at the pantai tengah beach which is beautiful and quiet and not that crowed as you can find it on the pantai chenang beach. you've got a variety of good restaurants and bars close to the hotel, but the best one was for me the 'oasis' directly at the pantai tengah beach. you can walk along the beach from the hotel to the restaurant/bar that offers indian or western food and really good fresh juices. you've got a marvelous view of the beach and can enjoy the fantastic sunset and the food.

Don’t stay here if you don’t want to be spoiled rotten! Beautiful rainforest resort, making our stay a tranquil serenity. and I must say staff of Ambong2 Pool Villas - drivers, reception, housekeeping - are amazingly hospitable. Having the drivers at your disposal till midnight for runs to Pantai Cenang and places nearby was really convenient. The option for in villa breakfast is also a huge plus point for us. Special thanks to Evelyn, Yani, Aiman, Shahidan and Julia for making our 20th Anniversary getaway a memorable one. You guys are true gems! Till next time....

This place has all that you need for a few days. It is not as fancy as some of the beach-side hotels in the area. However, what it lacks in luxury, it makes up for in practicality. The room has a good rain-fall shower, appliances such as iron/kettle/toaster and an outdoor patio area with clothesline/seating. There is no cable TV and the bed is good enough for a few nights. The wifi worked great. There is a small pool, outdoor seating and a restaurant on-site. Although it is not located directly at the beach, it is within a 10-minute walk to Pantai Tengah and a 20-minute walk to Pantai Cenang. The staff was absolutely lovely and very helpful throughout my stay. I would suggest getting the app 'Grab' to get a taxi. It is way cheaper than a regular taxi and you can reliably get to attractions and the airport with ease. I'm sure booking in advance you could get a better price than I did booking last-minute.

When we arrived in Langkawi, some staff at the airport were not familiar with the hotel, but the attendance at the taxi counter knew where it is and immediately gave us the ticket to one of the taxi. After 20 min inside the local taxi, we arrived in a very green retreat hotel. The pick-up came immediately and the check-in was done inside the room. Nizam was very helpful throughout our stay and made the stay even more enjoyable. The room was well layed-out, and well thought out. Big shampoo n soap bottles, consistently great hot shower, big storage area, great terrace, easy and clean kitchenette, and good wifi are just some of the luxury we enjoyed during our holiday. The hotel was built among the rainforest of Langkawi in Pantai Tengah area. Even the steep steps to go in and out of the room, do not stop us to be active and out-and-about on the island. Recommendable to rent a car when you are in Langkawi. Great stay, great holiday, great memory.

1) Customer Service by Kak Noora was AMAZING! All her recomendations of food, spa, places to go and so on is just UNBELIEVABLE. All spot on good. MUST FIND HER for the best service. 2) Location. Superb location as it's 3 minutes away from the entire road of Cenang Beach area. 5 Minutes away from Pantai Tengah. Superb location. 3) Room. We got free upgrades on that day because we went on a weekday trip and Kak Noora was so nice to give us free upgrades. Clean room next to the pool. Prefered get room 118 (Studio Room). Best room compared to my friends.

Pros: Clean private pool, Very professional staff, Great In-room breakfast spread, Peaceful and relaxing environment, Daily housekeeping, Daily stock up of complimentary mini bar, Free shuttle to/from Pantai Cenang, Comfy bed, Large rainfall shower head, Staff willing to go the extra mile Cons: Open roof concept for the pool area so do expect ‘visitors’ such as bats, insects and lizards to pay a visit. Shower area does not have any privacy from bedroom so this villa is more suitable for couples. However they do have plans to build more family-friendly rooms so we’re definitely looking forward to that.

Green Village Resort is a relatively new and less-advertised resort in Langkawi. It is about 7 kms from the Langkawi airport on Pantai Tengah, a short distance from Pantai Cenang. The beach is only 500 m away and the Underwater World about a kilometer. It is nicely tucked in a quite lane but not too far from the busy Pantai Cenang. The rooms are clean as shown on their website and are reasonably priced. Green village - true to its name - gives a very rustic feel. The resort staff, manager and owner were all very helpful. They suggested places to visit and good car rentals. Breakfast is included with tea/coffee being available all day long. The resort has a swimming pool and a library with books and novels in different languages. The resort also has a restaurant-cum-bar. There are quite a few birds around and the resort staff feed them first thing in the morning. They also offer guests umbrellas for use as they roam around Langkawi which is very helpful as it rains a lot.

LOCATION: Located at Pantai Tengah, at the end of famous Pantai Cenang stretch. It's peaceful and away from touristy buzz. No need to deal with traffic jam at Pantai Cenang. It's only 100m away from main road where amenities are - cafes, restaurants, spas, convenient shop, clinic etc. CLEANLINESS: Spotlessly clean. Everything in good working condition. STAFF: Super friendly, they treat you like their buddy. FACILITIES: There are only 6 rooms and 2 villas. That means no crowd. Small salt water pool right at your door step. They do not provide breakfast and do not have a restaurant, but they have a scooters that you can rent if you want to go out. Otherwise, just walk that 100m, where you will find cafes and restaurants. VALUE FOR MONEY: Absolutely 100%.

Pros. Its very near to Pantai Cenang where night life and shopping and food is just around the corner. Cheap water sports activities and its a very new hotel with modern setting. The bar and restaurant in front of the beach was awesome. Staffs and friendly and cool. Thumbs up to Toby the bartender for great drinks and nice talks. Cons. Probably because its new, staffs are lacking orientation. Receptionist told us she doesnt know whats in the chamber room and suprisingly failed to orient us about the hotel facilities. Do not get the Garden Room just behind the lobby next to the pool. Its basically and alley and a pathway for people. You can hear all the footsteps of people walking and all their stories, the giggling, the drunk, the baby crying. Lol

Spacious fridge, kitchen and dinner table 6. Extremely affordable 7. Quite, calm and walking distance to the Cenang Beach 8. Close acceast to 24/7 laundry and marts Kon: 1. No movie channels 2. Had to inform the staff for room service 3. Quite hard to find even though 2mins walk from the main road as no visible signage, the best way is to find Shell Out Chalet with Pikachu gargoyle in front of the lobby and then turn right 4. Arrived to check in at night - female staff wasn't that bright and warm

My wife and I stayed for 7D6N in double standard room. Pro: 1. Nice location at Pantai Tengah; away from the crowded area of Pantai Cenang 2. Easy to rent motorcycle and car as there was T-shoppe in front of the cottage for that purpose 3. Very reasonable price for that standard of accommodation, self-service concept 4. Refreshing nature sound (cricket, frog) at night 5. Very friendly & helpful staff who always smiling and provide reasonable suggestion on what to do in Langkawi Con (wrt double standard room type): 1. Not suitable for those who seek for luxurious place to stay as everything here will be done by yourselves 2. Room size was quite small with less space to walk, pray (prayer room was provided separately) and store your luggage (in case your luggage is huge). 3. Only towels, soap and toilet tissues were provided; the rest can be obtained on rental basis (eg. mini fridge, hairdryer, extra fan) or can be purchased at T-shoppe in front of the cottage 4. The room can be quite hot by the day as only 1 stand fan was provided. Sleeping at night won't be a problem except for the mosquitoes (mosquito liquid repellent and net can be rented) 5. Facilities provided should be clearly mentioned to guest prior checking in. There was a manual-type of notice pasted in our room stated that bathoom service is available for guest staying more than 3 nights. Based on only that phrase, my understanding was I can request my toilet to be cleaned as I am staying 6 nights there. However, the receptionist told me that that term refer to the outdoor bathroom that can be used by guests to clean themselves after bathing at the beach even after they check out. This somehow create confusion and slightly ruin the holiday mood as we are expecting that kind of service when we read the notice. Conclusion: Recommended to be one of the choices for your budget stay in Langkawi. Nice location, friendly staff. Kudos T-Star Cottage for your services :)

A quiet location at Pantai Tengah, not far away from the beach if you walk a little bit. Clean linen, basic room but its good enough for sleep only. But the ambience is peaceful and you can actually laze around in the cabin all day. There is a lake and ducks swimming in it. Pool is available if you want to swim. This accommodation is really worth the price even though it is booked on the same day.

DT located along Pantai Tengah. As long as you have a transport, it should be a problem to go around for food and shopping. The pros are the cheaper room rate,huge room, one toilet plus a bathroom and the friendliness of the staff. The cons are the basin is awkwardly located in the room beside the bed which is weird. The TV is located too high and is hard to view from the bed. Due to the limitation of the TV, I'm not able to plug in my external hdd to view the movies. The TV program is limited to local channel such as TV 1,2and 3. Overall, it worth the money you pay and there isn't any problem on basic amenity such as bed, bath and conformity.

Tomato Hotel is a really good budget hotel. I had ordered a standard room, but I was upgraded to a nicer and bigger room on their own initiative. Room was very nice and clean with a rather big bathroom. To turn on the hot water there is a switch outside the bathroom next to the light switch.. Room was cleaned everyday and new towles and water bottles were provided. The hotel is only about 7 min. walk to Pantai Tengah beach which I found to be much nicer than Cenang. However that is my personal opinion. 10min. walk to Cenang. There is a good restaurant downstairs and guests get 10% discount. Next door is very good seafood restaurant. Both are highly recommended as he food is both very good and much cheaper than in Cenang centre. I would definitely recommend this hotel as it is very good value for the money and I didn't have any complaints.

We have been staying in langkawi for ten years now and have stayed at numerous places ranging from cheap backpackers to guest houses to five star and this is the best yet. Staff were awesome, size of resort is perfect and facilities were excellent. Ideal for families with young children and once they have completed their plans for a cafe on site it will have everything. A walk to the newly developed restaurant area and convenience store 100m fro resort. Just brilliant.

This is a very new hotel and is very well maintained. We were very impressed by the design and even think of design our own house with similar concept! The room is very big! With big bed, big TV, big bathroom! We even got upgraded to a room sort jacuzzi !!! Love the attitude of all staff and owner! Friendly and helpful! We even got an thank you souvenir from them! The best hotel I have ever stayed from all of my traveling experience. It is comparable to other luxury hotel with double the price. We are very happy with our stay and indeed this boutique is the highlights of our trip! Thanks for the good accommodation!

We stayed at Villa/Rumah Molek for 5 nights. The staff were wonderful, friendly and obliging in helping us with our requests. We had issues with the toilet in our room, but they were able to arrange a room swap which we really appreciated. The welcome drinks were lovely, as was the complementary foot massage from the onsite spa/massage centre (fantastic!). If you are looking for somewhere, this is probably not the place for you. The hotel is more suited to quiet relaxation and has some friendly house cats who will visit your balcony on whim to keep you entertained and company (we were visited by 'Lady Gaga'). Villa Molek is very conveniently located at near the start of Pantai Tengah and end of Pantai Cenang, so you can walk to either beach or restaurant areas quickly. There are some nice restaurants in Tengah, but more options in Cenang. The onsite Malay restaurant is quite good (the meals are quite large) but a bit pricey, however we did not try the Italian restaurant which seemed quite popular. I would definitely stay here again if visiting Langkawi. The hotel could be improved if there was more tall, screening vegetation planted along the fence line bordering the neighbouring Aseana Resort, or outside the bathroom windows - it was a bit awkward using the bathroom with the knowledge that Aseana guests could see right into the room from their balcony.

Perfect for a family. Due to rain and the new one way road system on Pantai Cenang, we had to take a taxi in to the strip. I am not a fan of crowds so this place was perfect for my husband, my aunt and myself. There is a small convenience store and several food stalls just outside of the property. The food at these stalls were far cheaper and better tasting than any on the Pantai Cenang strip. The owner always responded within minutes. I loved staying here.

it was hari raya holiday when we visited langkawi and chose to stay in this villa. though it was a villa for 6 persons as stated in the agoda website, the villa was big enough to house us consisting 7 adults and 3 young kids. the villa was kind of difficult to locate at the first place as the entrance was with the gate closed and no sign board indicating the hotel name. not until we called up the gate keeper to get the exact description about the whereabout of the villa. it has 3 rooms with a big balcony facing the sea and also a big living room. each room has it own split unit ac. it also has a kitchen area with a small fridge. tv with astro channel is available. it has total 2 toilets. overall the condition of the villa was good but the villa keeper didn't take care the cleanliness very well. there was a small swimming pool in the villa area but it was raining almost the whole day, we didn't manage to do too much outdoor activities. it would be great if there could be covered bbq facilities for this kind of situation. villa location is very near to pantai cenang and jalan pantai cenang where you can find a big variety of restaurants. just that it was very tough to find breakfast the next morning as it was holiday and just a few restaurant or coffee shops were open. if you are opt to family gathering rather than beaches and outdoor activities, then this villa would probably be your choice of lodging. otherwise, there are better choices along the pantai cenang.

This Motel is at Pantai Tengah, it's about 10 minutes drive to Under Water World. If you have young children in your group, it is recommended you call a taxi to the Cenang town. There was a shortcut of 15 minutes walk to Pantai Tengah. It's not so crowded as Cenang beach. Opposite the Motel, there is a Chinese Restaurant serve good food with reasonable price. If you have early activities, it's a bit difficult to get breakfast. Most stall started their business after 8am. Overall I'm satisfied with the Motel service. It's worth for money!

this homestay is the best choice if ure travelling in a big group. i went there with my big family (10 peoples). a big bungalow with 3 rooms. each room have 2 beds with extra bunk bed at living room. very spacious and clean. the owner is very friendly and helpful. located near to pantai cenang,but not a walking distance. overall very satisfied and we have a very pleasant stay here.highly recommended for a big group
