A Relaxing Family Getaway”

We are a family from Singapore, first time to Chiang Mai. We recently had a wonderful time at the Panviman Chiangmai Spa Resort, stayed from 5-7 June 2016. We booked a Family 2-bedroom Suite that catered for 3 adults & 3 children. It was a duplex with the Main room on higher grounds, connected via an (external) stairway at the rear to another (smaller) room on lower grounds. The Main room had a Super-King bed with super high ceiling and a fabulous Bay-Window bed of Super-Single size. The other (smaller) room had 2 Single-sized beds, a sofa bed, a kitchen, a steam room and bathroom ! We requested for 2 additional sets of mattresses as my children wanted to sleep with us in the spacious Main room. The friendly house-keeping staff so readily obliged by adding two more sets of mattresses (thinner ones but good enough and very comfortable) into the Main room! The open-air private jacuzzi in the rear of the Main room was a treat. It really felt like we were in the forest because the calls of the crickets were SO loud and near. There were flying insects around at night, so beware. But within the rooms, not much insects; rooms were very clean. The pleasant aroma oils that scented the rooms were effective in keeping the mosquitoes & insects away. The insect repellant provided in the rooms were also effective, made from Thai herbs. There were interesting variety of insects, ants around the resort which makes for good educational nature-experience for the kids. We were also pleasantly greeted by a few free-roaming peacocks. The buggy service was prompt and much appreciated. There was only 1 restaurant but that's good enough for our 3 days 2 nights stay as the food quality was good and the variety decent. We had mostly Thai food (very good quality) and some pizzas for the kids. The fresh juices and ice-blended juices were a delight. The breakfast was good too. Not fantastic variety but sufficient spread for a hearty, healthy breakfast. They provided some organic f

Absolutely wonderful resort in the hills near Chiang Mai”

We stayed three nights at the Panviman Chiangmai Spa Resort and had an absolutely wonderful time. It was so nice to stay in a place where the staff are well trained, friendly and very attentive. The resort is up in the hills, with crisp cool mornings and a gorgeous view into the valley from the breakfast area. The resort is beautifully designed, with expansive gardens, superb landscaping and a great swimming pool. My ageing father had a great time being driven around on the compound in electric buggies. Definitely recommended for nature lovers and those who would like to avoid the hustle & bustle of down town Chiang Mai.

Amazing Resort in the Beautiful Mae Sa Valley”

Service, Room Size and Amazing Views

Amazing resort with amazing views topped by amazing service. The resort is spread out on a hill slope overlooking the Mae Sa valley in the Mae Rim district of Chiang Mai, Thailand. We were punctually greeted by a hotel staff who took us on a 1-hour drive to the resort from the airport. The first thing that struck us was the scenic location of the resort and the villas were well spread out across the resort grounds. Our "Jacuzzi Villa" room was spacious and clean with a big verandah that looked out at the mountains right before us. The verandah also incorporated a jacuzzi with the same beautiful view. It is a really beautiful environment for that perfect, peaceful retreat. Practically every member of the staff could speak English and all were genuinely warm. The high level of attentive service was palpable from the most junior member of the staff right up to the General Manager who mingles with the guests every day to greet, serve and gather feedback. This place is highly recommended for couples and families looking for that perfect retreat far from the madding crowd in Chiang Mai city itself although twice-daily free shuttles are available for city jaunts.

A Place to Relax Totally”

The ambiance is sooo great, the staff so friendly...

Panviman Chiangmai Spa Resort is a haven for those people who wish to get away from the everyday pressure of living life. It is an absolutely beautiful place with wonderful views all round. Food is fantastic (all organic) and the spa is absolutely out of this world!! It is 40 KM away from Chiang Mai City Center and a taxi will take around BHT 750 to take you there from the airport. Rooms are exquisite and quite unique in some ways. Highly recommended.

Relax in beautiful surroundings”

Beautiful quiet surroundings, great spa treatments, wonderful staff

Wow! My husband and I stayed at Panviman for 3 nights after having spend 4 nights in Chiangmai. We'd done all our shopping and site- seeing and were ready to relax and indulge ourselves for a few days before continuing our trip to Malaysia. We could not have picked a more perfect spot for that. We caught a taxi to Panviman (cheaper than the hotel transfer provided by Panviman) and stopped along the way to have some lunch at a roadside restaurant. BEST Pad Thai ever! Arrived at Panviman and were efficiently and quickly checked in and driven to our room. Room was great: large, with a sitting area and a patio outside. Like a previous reviewer, we didn't have a view.....our patio was bordered by a natural earth bank with plants etc, but we thought it was nice for privacy and weren't too concerned about not having scenic views. There was plenty of time for us to explore the grounds and take in the views from other vantage points. The room has a safe, a great separate bath, large tv with DVD player, robes, slippers and nice quality toiletries. We ordered room service once. We planned ahead and asked that it be delivered to our room at 9 pm and it arrived promptly at that time. Breakfast was delicious with a variety of cooked items, a great selection of breads and fruits and the chef was on hand to make eggs, French toast, pancakes, waffles etc to our liking. Coffee especially was great! We spent our first day slowly wandering around, exploring the gardens and admiring the views. The second day we had a leisurely breakfast and relaxed with newspapers and magazines in the beautiful reception hall area. Then it was time to indulge in a spa treatment. I was booked in for 3 hours for a special package that included a herbal steam treatment, a body scrub, a body wrap and massage. It was magical. My husband had a 90 minute massage and was able to be in the same treatment room as me during this (they do give you the option). I went back the next day for a f

Good choice for relaxation ”

Design , scenery , service

I came on the day of misty atmosphere by the fog of raining , but not real rain it's just like walk in the clouds . That make good scenic view of the hill , trees and the northern style hotel buildings sitting by the slope of the mountain . Very good weather not too cold but real cold , so romantic . Room is big like a service apartment , dining table , big refrigerator , microwave , boiling water pot , complementary organic tea , basket of fresh fruit . Also the lemongrass aroma scent in the room , love it so much . And also there s steam room to warm up your body temp before taking a bath but actually it cannot raise up the target temp ( may be by the so cold temp outside ) ( just around 35 C that it an do ). The resort street is so steep so there has to has shuttle car pick u up around the resort . Nice big pool ( but too cold to get in) . Nice area of spa village . And yes nice taste of food n beverage . It s good choice for your leisure time in Chiangmai Thailand .And the area of Mae Rim there r a lot of places to visit . Recommended one

Breathtaking views and amazing spa!”

Amazing view, world-class spa, beautiful pool, meditation cave.

we were supposed to stay 1 night at panviman, but immediately added 2 more nights upon arrival. the views are breathtaking and the hotel is beautifully designed into a steep mountainside. the location is a bit far from chiang mai, so it may be difficult to do a lot of activities or go out to eat. although there are several things to do nearby in mae sa valley. the food in the restaurant is pretty good though, although a bit pricey by thai standards. the spa is absolutely amazing. the therapists really know what they are doing. although it is more expensive than your $5 massage in chiang mai, it is on a different level. the rooms are well appointed, even the basic valley deluxe. every room has a spectacular view and balcony. this place should be at the top of your list if you want a break from the hustle and bustle of chiang mai.

Gorgeous, luxurious resort with perfect service”

Friendly staff, reasonably-priced and excellent food, beautiful location

Where to start? We splashed out for 2 nights in this wonderful resort to celebrate my 30th birthday and our recent marriage. The first night was spent in a normal room and the second in a private pool villa. The normal room was absolutely gorgeous, with wonderful, tasteful decor, a rain shower and separate bathtub plus a huge balcony. The communal pool was absolutely gorgeous, if a little cold. The private pool villa was like something out of a Bond movie; I had no idea such places actually existed in reality. We were blown away. Dinner was wonderful and not at all expensive, and the included breakfast buffet was full of variety, freshly made and quite delicious. It's a very romantic, quiet place in the hills, with good fresh air, well-kept landscaped gardens, and they treat you like royalty. We had a massage at the spa as well, which was extremely good and a very serene, quietly opulent place. My only minor quibble was that the swimming pools were rather too chilly, but it was certainly refreshing water and I have to applaud the fact that they don't heat them, as that must take up a shocking amount of energy. There are plenty of activities to undertake nearby, such as the Tiger Kingdom, but we spent all our time at the resort; the Panviman is actually quite a distance from Chiang Mai, which is something to be aware of. We had an absolutely magical time though. I would recommend the Panviman to anyone - it's worth saving up the cash to have a little taste of real luxury!

Book this place!!!!!”

This place was amazing! Our only regret was staying here just one night. We booked the jacuzzi room and it blew us away. Huge shower, outdoor jacuzzi, King size bed, robes, slippers....we felt like kings! Dinner at the restaurant was moderately expensive for Thailand prices but also fantastic and worth the $20ish usd per person as a special treat. Amazing green curry. Breakfast was included in our stay and also was great. Buffet style with tons of options for diets of all types and the pickiest eaters. The pool is a multi-tiered setup and we enjoyed swimming and reading books by the pool. Last but not least we did the couples spa in heaven treatment. 3 hours of body scrubs, milk baths, and massage with essential oils. So amazing. Overall the service at Panviman from start to finish was just incredible. We rode a motorbike along the Samoeng loop from Chiang Mai. It was a great way to get there and leave if you are up for motorbiking. Once we got out of the city it wasn't stressful at all to drive. Very easy to find Panviman on google maps / good signage on the roads for the resort turnoff. We hope to come here again!!!!! Highly recommend.

Great scenery; very peaceful; very good food; excellent service

We went to the Panviman Chiangmai Spa Resort to celebrate my husband's birthday. What a delightful time we had! The staff worked with us to change our room when we first arrived because we were not happy with the view. They continued to meet our every need while we were there with courtesy and lots of smiles! It truly did feel like we had traveled to paradise because the surroundings were breathtaking. Unfortunately we gained a few pounds because the food was also very good. Our stroll around the grounds was especially nice and peaceful. The only drawback to me was the steep climb going back to the room. However, there was always a ride provided to get us there in ease.

Beautiful Place”

Stunning View

We received a special discount for our stay at Panviman Chiangmai Spa Resort. The hotel was as expected, it looked exactly like the pictures seen. The view was magnificent. It made me felt like I was staying by a Thai palace. The room were nice. There was both a bath tub and a shower. We couldn't see a lot of the view from our bedroom because the trees blocked our view. The landscaping of the hotel was amazing. I was impressed with how many variety of plants were placed into every nook and cranny. The hotel meals were a little pricey. Breakfast was nice.

Magnificent place to relax”

We spent two nights here at the end of our honeymoon and i wish we had had double that time. STUNNING!!!! Panviman is a hidden gem about an hr out of Chiang Mai. With twice daily shuttle buses running to get you in and out of Chiang Pai it is possible to still explore the city before returning to the lush and quiet surrounds of Mae Rim, but if i were to stay again (and i certainly hope to), I would bring books to read by the pool and take advantage of the fabulous spa facilities.

nice stay (at a low promotional rate)”

We stayed two nights at the Panviman, thanks to an agoda promotional rate. The staff were exceedingly helpful, and that mattered because one of our party was recovering from ankle surgery and needed assistance to get anywhere on the facility. The food was delicious; the rooms were elegant and well appointed, with lovely balconies and luxurious bathrooms. We didn't take advantage of the spa facilities, but enjoyed touring the grounds, and the children had fun on the swings, at archery, and playing giant outdoor chess. We loved our waiter, who was not only helpful but a pleasure to get to know, and the children enjoyed the included buffet breakfast. (It's nice to order coffee and get espresso.)
The pool was a little too cold for us to swim in (though Californians are spoiled by warm swimming pools).

Panviman Resort Spa is set spectacularly on a hillside in the mountains about half an hour outside Chiang Mai. The grounds are hilly, but shuttles are available on demand and usually arrive within seconds of calling the front desk. The food is delicious and the facilities are luxurious, in a quiet and largely picturesque setting. The views were nicer from the main grounds than from our 'valley view' rooms, but we were satisfied all around. Our only disappointment was an under-maintained and cold swimming pool; while we stayed during the off-season, it was hot and we would have enjoyed a more welcoming swim. The best feature was the price, which was heavily discounted from the normal rate and even the usual low agoda discount rate.

Panviman spa.”

The mountain location. Close to Chiang Mai but also secluded. Scenery is beautifulnot only from the resort but in the resort.. All aspects of the resort are enjoyable.
The spa resort would present a challenge for handicap people. No elevator and many steps. The services of the spa were great but a little pricey.

We arrived at the resort and were transported to the hotel lobby for check-in. From that moment forward the services of the staff on the property was excellent. The food was very good and the services in the restaraunt was excellent. The spa was very good offerings a wide range of treatment. Living in Chiang Mai we found the spa prices a little on the heavy side. Given the mountain location the resort would be a challenge for handicap people. We plan to visit Panviman again and would recommend it.

Lovely resort with gorgeous scenery”

We booked a three night stay at Panviman Resort & Spa and it was a lovely break in the mountains after being in Chiang Mai for almost a week. The hotel itself was about 55 minutes from Chiang Mai, from which we negotiated a 1000 baht taxi using a red truck to get there. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We didn't have a safe in our room when we first got there but after a couple of calls, this was sorted for us by the next morning. Furthermore the buggies/ mini-vans that take guests around the resort were appreciated as sometimes the hills were too much to face, especially after a big dinner! The resort did feel quiet and perhaps a little empty due to the beginning of the low season, however, there was at least one member of staff in the public area e.g. the pool, spa and sports area. The restaurant serves good food at resort prices which is to be expected. Furthermore there is a coffee area on the veranda overlooking the valley that serves patisseries too. The only thing that would be fantastic if added would be a bar area for guests to be able to enjoy a casual drink before heading in to the restaurant for lunch or dinner. One day we did walk out of the resort and headed into the next village and came across a little restaurant called Krua Ban Chan which served homecooked thai food at very reasonable prices. It was a 3km walk but worth it in my opinion. I would say that this was a lovely stay but if you are staying for longer than 2 nights you should consider hiring a car or scooter so as to get out of the resort and explore. The hotel can book excursions for you and there is also a free shuttle mini bus (I recommend to pre book your space) that takes you in to Chiang Mai at 11am &4pm and picks you up at 4pm and 10pm.

The Perfect Hotel”

Quality, resort, service

Quite simply the best hotel we have stayed in. We have been to Thailand 5 times, staying at 5* hotels across the country, however this 4* tops them all. My wife chose this hotel and I had my doubts due to the location, however this is remedied by the quality of the resort, the shuttle bus and by renting a scooter. You can get lost in the stunning grounds of the hotel with its beautiful surroundings. Everything is to a high standard and as you can probably tell, we fell for the place. I highly recommend renting the hotel scooter for ฿350 a day, you can go to all of the attractions in the surrounding area and those further a field saving you from paying for high cost tours and you can even have more privacy avoiding the tourist rush! We never normally eat at the hotels as street food is generally better however as we got to Panviman late on the first night we ordered room service and it was amazing, the breakfast was very good too and the restaurant provides amazing scenery for you to enjoy your meals. The only thing negative I can say about the resort is that the rooms lack a safe and ironing board but these are minor things that didn't affect us in anyway. If you are looking to relax whilst having the opportunity to enjoy what Chiang Mai has to offer then you won't go wrong here.

exceptional hotel, the best in chiang mai”

spa, facilities, everything top notch

we arrived late at night to panviman and we regret that we only had 12 hours of stay in this extremely beautiful hotel. first, our room, even though we had to walk up 4 floors, we were happy and was amazed by the room and its facilities. however the best comes in the morning when we took a walk around. the breakfast was great and the outdoor workout facility is very nice. we tried to book for the spa however it was fully booked as we were too late. however we were able to go around the spa area and it was very beautiful. the swimming pool was amazing and the meditation cave was one of a kind. i simply say: panviman is one of the best 5 stars hotel in chiang mai.

Great resort in peaceful place”

Luxury rooms, very good and affordable restaurant, excellent service, beautiful setting

The Panviman Chiangmai Spa Resort is located quite far away from the city of Chiangmai, in the quiet mountains of northern Thailand. It is really well designed; one feels that every possible detail has been thought out for customer comfort. The staff is friendly and professional. If you wish to find peace far from the city, you will highly enjoy your stay in this resort.

Pretty impressive ”

view, service, atmosphere

We were keen on the resort's services since shuttle service, breakfast and dinner service, and room service. The swimming pool was really awesome, loved it though. Also, to spend time at Panviman Chiangmai Spa Resort was as staying in heaven (like its name meaning). Just something I felt not impressive when i checked out. The receptionist called a made to check a room if there was something lost! Well, if i would steal something, I would have not spent time out there... Please improve next time.
