Very modern, great price for being so close to Manhattan. Was in town for a family event so really didn’t get to explore this neighborhood. Bar was under construction when we visited that was the only negative
Sanjay from Dubai”
The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, the area is convenient and safe, it was our first trip to New York and it mattered a lot to us. The restaurant was under renovation and the breakfast charge was refunded to us at checkout, we will definitely consider staying here during our next trip.
We had stayed there before and loved it. This time we brought another family member and it was disappointing. The other person would definitely not go there again. The lobby and dining area was under construction when we arrived, so the charm of the decor was lost. The breakfast was horrible - mealy fruit and minimal choice (we enjoyed it on the previous visit). Not enough towels. We all repeatedly bruised our legs on the bed platforms. One room was next to the elevator and there was excessive noise. On the other hand: the front desk staff was exceptionally helpful when making reservations and on arrival. I’m undecided about staying there again and would probably want to see more recent reviews after the construction is done. Maybe our expectations were too high from the first visit.
Cool boutique in Queens”
Funky boutique with style, on the same block as two subways. No regular porters for taking luggage, so you might have to make do on your own. Great restaurant on site. On the street side there is a factory with a constant hum that might bother some people at night. Good choice if you don't mind staying in Queens.
Fantastic, Edgy, New York Boutique Hotel”
Business or pleasure, this hotel is really something different. Great decor, accommodating, friendly staff in a great location. Tons of places to eat nearby, or simply stay in and have a drink in the great bar. The room was very comfortable, and did I mention the great decor?
Great, clean place to stay. Close to subway and nice walkable area.”
We were surprised when we were notified there was no complimentary breakfast since we had made reservations through Agoda. Mind you, this was after we had $15 a plate breakfast. I thought it was a little much, for someone trying to keep cost at a low. There's other places very near by to have breakfast. Hotel also has thin walls, couple of party girls needed to sing and cheer at 4 am. Other than that, it was a good stay. The convenience of location, you can't beat.
Great place super cool”
Love the feel n location of the hotel
Great hotel! Good location.
Stylist but lacking in basics for hotel”
Stylish hotel, clean. I didn't eat there so have no comment. Location was very close to 36th street station so about 20 minutes into central manhatten. Cheaper than manhatten hotels. However the staff were lacking. Front reception staff were great but twice other staff came into my room unannounced due to mistakes in the room number. Once was at 1:30am which woke me up. Also, the most expensive room, which I was in, was close to the very noisy elevator so I was woken up each night by noisy guests. As the purpose of a hotel is sleep, I can't recommend the best rooms until they build a extra door between the rooms and the main corridors. As there is no carpet in the hotel, the loudness echoes badly. For that reason I wouldn't recommend staying in the best rooms. Perhaps other types are better.
Excellent Location - would stay again!”
We stayed at Paper Factory for 7 nights on 28th August – 4th September 2016. The hotel was based at 36th Street subway station and is directly across the road from the Hotel. This was extremely convenient. We were a bit weary of staying at this hotel because of its location, however, it really was a 10-15 minute subway journey to Times Square and approximately a 10 min journey to areas such as 5th Avenue and Herald Square (Macy’s). We were extremely impressed of how quick we could get to/from central NYC back to our hotel. The hotel has a 7-11 beside it, which is really convenient. In addition to this, there is a supermarket which sells everything ‘American’. This was really good for purchasing snacks for your room or edibles to back take home for gifts. There is also a McDonalds, Subway, Panera Bread and Wing Stop about 10 minute walk away. The hotel staff we friendly and polite – however, we had an issue with our hotel room door (Room 411). For some reason, the door would open itself (or somebody was opening it with a master key). This happened on several occasions and we could never catch the person who was doing this. This was reported to the hotel twice and I was told that the cameras would be checked, but I never heard anything back from them and no action was taken. With regards to our room, we were pretty happy with it! We got it for an extremely good price at approximately £100 per night (which is pretty cheap for a NYC hotel), so we couldn’t really complain! It was a clean and spacious room. The shower was very big and we were happy with the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and we had a very large window which gave us a lovely view of the city. The only downfall to this, was that the safe in our room did not work and it was never replaced by staff/housekeeping – luckily nothing was taken! The highlight of the hotel would be the lounge on the 4th floor. This lounge consisted of a vending machine, 2 large refrigerators, an ice machine, microwaves, TV,
Great hotel, great location, great stuff”
PF hotel is a unique and provide the guests with great amenities, excellent location and very friendly stuff. We spent four days visiting NY and this location gave us a quick access to Manhattan and very relaxing atmosphere when we were back from tiring walk around the city. Highly recommended!
Value for money”
This is one of the cheapest I can find in Queens/Long Island which is close to Manhattan. Metro station is just outside the hotel for commute to downtown area. Hotel lobby is big enough and decor is nicely done. Location is the only negative point as surrounding is mainly car workshops and warehouse. Maybe it will improve soon as next to it is building a new residential block.
worst hotel staff ever”
I stayed in NYC during my summer holidays and i was at this hotel for about six days. I was looking forward to a kind of boutique hotel when i booked. BUT my first impression for the hotel became awful and dissatisfactory because of very unkind hotel staffs. Almost all the staffs were not kind at all. Also, i had to call the plumber on the first night because the water doesn't drain and stucked in the shower room. Moreover, the pillow and the bed don't seem to clean enough. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone planning to.
Great location and clean”
Location was good. Only 2 stops from central park and 3 more for times square with metro. Good cleaning and nice restaurant in the building. Great and helpful workers aswell. I stayed there for 15 nights in june/july and it was great.
Absolutely terrible ”
Reception was in bad mood, rude at checkin Hotel is right next to a construction site, very loud noise, cannot sleep Blinds are thin if you come in spring or summer be prepared to wake up at 5am Bad neighborhood although subway is just across the street Cannot adjust the shower and a thin layer of plastic instead of a shower door Door could not lock, had to get a guy to come and fixed the lock No fridge Walls are very thin, you can hear what everyone on the same floor is up to And a bunch of useless furniture that serve no purpose in a tiny room that made room even tinier
Stayed nine days for family trip to NYC (2A/2C). Great staff and excellent value-for-money (particularly in comparison to Manhattan room rates). Good location just yards from the 36th Street subway with access to Midtown in minutes. Warm welcome at check-in and staff were exemplary throughout the whole stay. Housekeeping could be a bit haphazard, but nothing that couldn't be sorted with a quick telephone call to reception. Overall, would highly recommend.
Good location, comfort room”
Basically my friend's and my experience were very good. The hotel is very beautiful and has good location which we could easily go to the subway station. However, the room was not what we expected and saw in the picture. It was a little smaller than what we thought, but it has a good view and simple decoration. The room was very clean and has good bathroom with good shower equipment. Recommend to travellers live here.
Location is good. Easy access to subway. Quite comvenient to get to Manhanttan and JFK. Warm staff. Great interiors. Clean room and nice fascilities. The only problems are sound isolation and wifi: we stayed on the top floor and could easily hear the chatting and giggles of neighbors (they were using non-histerical pitches). Could hear the trafic in the morning. Wifi connectin at least at top floor is poor.
Great boutique hotel”
It's a lovely hotel. Beautifully renovated and very clean. Staffs are amazingly friendly and helpful. Neighborhood is not fancy, it's located in the industrial area but there's a subway entrance to Manhattan right in front of the hotel. If you're coming back from Manhattan, it's 3 mins walking distance from the subway exit. 2 stops away from Manhattan is still pretty good. Much better than overpriced hotels in Manhattan. Totally pleasant and recommended.
Overnight stay to fly out of LGA in the morning”
My stay was good. The hotel is very nice. It is a bit hard to find, and if you have a car there is NO parking lot. You have to find a space on the street to park. The cafe for coffee does not open until 7:30, which is just too late for business travelers. You are in a safe walking area with several restaurants close by.
