This is an absolutely beautiful resort. Not only did I extend my stay but the owner Stefan was so kind and generous and upgraded my room. Thank you Stefan, I feel so blessed and grateful. The ocean views here are stunning, you should definitely get up early to witness the beauty of the sunrise 🌅 The staff were so welcoming and warm, Ning at reception was so friendly and I had some wonderful conversations with her. The chef is amazing, all the Thai meals are prepared with such detail - carrot shaped hearts/flowers and I would dare say the best Thai cuisine I have ever had. It was made with so much love and I can only describe it as soul food that brings absolute joy with every delicious mouthful. The other lovely lady at the restaurant was beautiful, so friendly and kind and she would even bring meals to my room. Also a day before I checked out she came over to say thank you and goodbye and wished me well as it was her day off when I was due to check out, all I can say is that it was a heart melting moment. The rooms are exquisite, containing so much beautiful art and they are large, clean and comfortable. Thank you lovely cleaning lady for cleaning my room every day. The pool was wonderful and very refreshing and everything about this place brought me peace and happiness, including the beautiful butterflies, the little squirrels in the trees, the frogs in the garden at night, a lil green snake I saw once in the trees, which is completely harmless by the way and beautiful, hearing on occasion the sound of geckos, the tropical foliage and flowers, the sounds of birds and the sighting of a majestic eagle 🦅 soaring through the sky. This truly is a slice of heaven and I would highly recommend you staying here. It is a calm, tranquil sanctuary that makes you glad to be in Thailand. Thank you Stefan and the amazing warm, kindhearted and wonderful staff. Your place is beautiful and I enjoyed my stay here very much. It was an absolute delight! Merci beaucoup/ขอบคุณ 💚

Down the backstreets of Koh Samui overlooking the ocean you will find Papillon run by a very energetic couple. The rooms have everything you need, the resort has a bar, pool beach and a little gem of a restaurant serving possibly the best food we eat in Koh Samui. Mosquitos are plentiful but that an island problem so don’t let it deter you.

Lovely friendly resort”
What a lovely place to stay. It's not in the center, about 30 minute walk from Chaweng Beach Road where all the bars and clubs are, but it's very quiet and right on the ocean. We had a sea view bungalow which was small but very clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed. There is a small pool, perfectly adequate for the size of the resort, a whirlpool and a children's pool. The restaurant serves lively food at good prices. Everything was great but the best thing was the owners and staff. The lady serving at the bar/restaurant was so nice and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The owners are lovely people and on site all day, making sure that everybody has everything they need, nothing is too much trouble. I highly recommend this place for a stay in a very quiet area close to the town. Keep up the good work!

Very nice hotel with good location”
The Papillon is a cute little hotel with a good location. Close to chaweng beach but not in the middle of bars and party, so it was very calm. It is direktly at the sea, there was no sand beach but stairs into the water. There was a nice pool area and a lot of plants at the hotel area, a little oasis! The owner was nice and helpful. The rooms were nice too, clean enough and comfortable beds. The food was also good with good prices. I can recommend that place and would like to come again!

i would suggest you not to book this resort. this resort is not managed by Thai people. The staff do not pick up phone ever and they never reply to your emails. Further, you will not find anyone at the reception during the stay. Too boring place and nothing to enjoy at the property.

France in a "nutshell" !”
you might wonder what a review of a hotel in koh samui, thailand may have to do with france in a "nutshell", well, this is what this hotel is all about! in a "nutshell" because it only has 23 rooms, on the other hand, if you enjoy being greeted by your name, not having to give your room number when you order something, enjoy having a personnal deco in your room, walk only 30 seconds to go from your room to the pool or the bar/restaurant and have a beautiful view of the sea, you have found the right place! the other wonderful thing about papillon resort is the food, the hotel being run by a frenchman food has it's own very special place, not only will you find all the traditionnal thai dishes (with sometimes a "french spin" to it), but also traditionnal french dishes (with sometimes a "thai spin" to it)! all in all, "the best of both worlds" !!! now your thinking "this is to good to be true", well, there are some down sides, if you want to be in "the middle of the action", you will have to rent a car or a motorcycle or take a "transfer/taxi" from the hotel to the center of chaweng, (100 bahts). chaweng being one of the most beautiful beaches in samui, there is no beach at the hotel when the tide is low. the pool is really only there to refresh yourself, if you're planning to loose those extra kilos by swimming you will soon have your head spinning ! on the other hand, there are as many sun loungers as there are guests (no need to get up at 6 in the morning to "reserve" your chair)! to sum it up, not only a charming, intimate place to be but also with all the service you would get from the "bigger" hotels. ps: forgot to mention the jacuzzi next to the pool, the beautiful setting in the midst of a tropical garden and the tender loving care of "koko", masseuse who tends to the well being of your body from 10am to 5pm (most of the time later) everyday.

Super-friendly staff and excellent atmosphere!”
Stayed here almost two weeks and it felt like home. We booked two rooms, but they upgraded us to adjoining rooms which gave us an extra room (small) in the middle that was great for my son's nap time. The staff were fantastic and entertained and played with my 22-month old son the whole time we were there. A short taxi or tuk-tuk ride from Chaweng, but far enough away that you don't have to deal with the partying and noise of the main beach area. One downfall is that there is no beach at the hotel (closest beach is a 5-10 minute walk) but the ocean-front pool, patio and restaurant are fantastic. As it is a french resort, there is a lot of smoking, so sometimes it wasn't great with a toddler, but it wasn't terrible either. Overall, we were more than satisfied with our stay at Papillon!

Fantastic beachfront hotel with French ambience”
We stayed at Papillon Resort for 3 nights, and loved our time there in Koh Samui! We stayed in one of the cute bungalows, and it was a room with some funky interior decorations and art work. The hotel is run by French management, and the majority of the guests seemed to be French. The staff were excedingly friendly, and helpful to us for all of our needs; they arranged for a scooter rental for us, which was delivered promptly to our hotel. The included breakfast was quite good, with a few different a la carte selections available. We had dinner there the first night, and enjoyed some yummy Thai dishes off of the menu which featured typical French fare as well as local Thai cuisine... Overall, a great experience, and a lovely place to stay in a more quaint setting, rather than at one of the larger resorts.

Its a paradise resort will great hospitality team”
I booked and paid for a standard bungalow room,however when I walked in upon my arrival,I was greeted by a friendly staff named Ling,she was so helpful and will try to help you in any ways possible if you have any issues,so when I checked in she upgraded me to a sea front room,no extra charge,but I will still enjoy a better benefit. The rest team were also great people,they welcomed us with a welcome drink.I will say its a more convenient resort whereby the staff will be able to arrange tour and motorbike or car rental for you,which they did for me as well. It is abit far from nite life,however if you can rent a bike then it will be easier,as renting car is a waste bcos traffic in chaweng street is very bad at nite.Motor bike can be rented at Thai Bhat 200 per day and car 900 to 100 bhat per day.

Papillon is run by French and Thai persons. It is very good value for money. It is located away from the bustle of Chawaeng street, but actually only 2 minutes away by car. The staff are friendly and helpful. Popular with french and germans. Staff are good humoured helpful and kind. Its a cute place and literally five minutes from the airport too, made my trip so easy and relaxing. very good food as you can imagine...and good breakfast. i loved their bacon sandwich. Highly reccommended.

Very nice little resort at the end of Chaweng beach. Friendly staff. The owner Stefan is a real character, after five minutes with him I felt like I had known him for several years. I'd recommend this resort to anyone that doesn't have to live in the very middle of Chaweng beach.

Private with nice view”
This hotel has very good view. You can see along the Chaweng beach and you can step directly to the sea. Very nice & friendly staff. You consult them everything about your trip (cheapest car rental, speed boat package, dining area, etc.). As booking on low season, this hotel is very private for us :)

Relaxing, quiet, friendly hotel”
We stayed here for 10 nights and we have no complaints. The staff are lovely, very cheerful and helpful. The rooms are clean and the pool is great. We have a 7 year old son who enjoyed himself. The breakfast menu has a good choice. The walk into chaweng Centre takes approx 20 minutes but it is very hilly up and down and along a busy road however you can cut across the beach which a lot nicer.

We just stay one night, and appreciate the location of this resort. On the end on Chaweng beach, not so far the night Life, but enough for stay in peaceful place on the beach. Dont realy like the bungalows but the restaurant is very very good

Peaceful location”
This hotel is a little on the outskirts of Koh Samui so there is a little walking involved although there are many taxis should you wish not to. Very pleasant owner who was always eager to please. Undergoing renovation when we arrived but all ,in all a pleasant budget accommodation.
