Paradise Road - Tintagel Colombo Hotel is Colombo’s foremost luxury hotel, situated in the heart of the city’s most elite neighborhood. Offering 10 unique suites with all modern amenities and services, the property is housed in a stunning heritage structure of national importance that was previously home to three of the Sri Lanka’s political leaders. Paradise Road - Tintagel Colombo Hotel’s 10 suites have high ceilings, timber floors, and are luxuriously decorated, each in its unique combination of color, texture, and atmosphere. A stunning lap pool on the Ground Floor and private gym on the First with a treadmill, cross trainer and free weights, and steam room, Paradise Road - Tintagel Colombo Hotel is a haven to return to for those business travelers at the end of the day. A massage room with a deluxe bed is available for special treatments, or if preferred, treatments may be provided in the privacy of the guest’s suite. THE RED BAR is nothing short of stunning. Absolutely Beautiful & Great Colonial Feel”
The hotel is gorgeous, the staff and the service were impeccable. The only thing that is lacking is the renovation of some items, facilities, and equipments, that should have been done for an hotel of this reputation.
Fantastic experience ”
The property itself is amazing with its colonial architecture and vibe Room is spacious with touch of colonial and oriental details Pool is small but swimmable’ still enjoyable A small but adequate gym which is a surprise and it’s 24hrs. Big plus Staff is super attentive and lovely
Stylish, intimate, boutique hotel ”
Delightful, intimate hotel, with only 10 rooms. We were a group of friends travelling together and also booked the Private Dining Room for a special dinner. which was delightful. The staff, without exception, are absolutely wonderful. They are totally attentive and always smiling. The food is exceptional in the restaurant, with a very large menu.
Beautiful, serene, luxurious and still in the middle of Colombo City”
So far the best hotel property I've ever stayed in. Only ten rooms, boutique hotel and a quiet, serene place with the kind of old world luxury you would find in a British country manor. The peaceful environment encourages relaxation and l for one took great pleasure in the quiet well kept luxury of the beautiful antique furniture and subtle decor. Food is truly delicious, service is excellent and I must mention the very attentive housekeeping supervisor 'Saman', who went out of his way to ensure our comfort. Friendly, well trained staff. Only flaw, if any should be mentioned was that our room was a bit small. Still it left you with the impression of visiting someone's manor house, exemplary gem in hospitality.
Excellent service, spacious rooms, have all the facilities you would need (gym, pool, library), amazing breakfast (esp the Sri Lankan one), walking distance from shops and attractions, amenities from Paradise Road seems to be natural and very pleasant (I am very picky about body products). Feels like home away from home but with a touch of hospitality and luxury, would come back again and recommend anyone looking for an extraordinary stay in Colombo
We've got the room that Charles and Camalia stayed. It a was fantastic stay. Everything was good. The only thing was the nearby construction, so we cannot open the blinds of side windows. Food was delicious! Staffs were very friendly and professional! We'll definitely come back.
Hard to title: A Night in a Museum? The Time Machine?”
Tintangel was quite an experience. We arrived in a Tuk Tuk and still felt like royalty. The staff are first class and yet friendly. The historical significance of the place made one feel like it was a night spent in the Lincoln Bedroom. The neighborhood is embassy row: Australia, France, Saudi... to name a few. Breakfast served elegantly to say the least...a hearty English breakfast. Right across the street is a shirt-maker: Checks and Stripes. After shopping around the neighborhood quite a bit, I bought a bunch of nice shirts there at a great price just before my flight. They had the best quality, style, and price of any shop I'd seen in Sri Lanka. Airport bus to Colombo 300 rps and Tuk Tuk to hotel 300 rps. I paid about $125 for the room and it could easily worth $500 a night. No complaints.
We flew into Columbo and headed for the Tintagel and didn't want to leave. Couldn't find fault with this place even if I tried. We stayed in a suite that was uses by Charles and Camilla. It was a large bedroom with four poster bed, separate bathroom, study and balcony. There's a great pool for chalking up a few lengths in the morning before taking breakfast in the terrace walled garden. Dining is a must and all the food is divine. All the staff are very professional and friendly who surprised me with a birthday cake. Without a doubt, this was the best place we stayed during our visit to Sri Lanka. A home from home.
A place for reverie”
A hotel like this, with such soul and charm, adds real value to your trip. There are not so many around as the world is flooded with standardised chains of triteness. It is such an oasis of comfort and character that, quite honestly, it makes the city look shabby and uninviting. I could have spent the entire week there with a book content that it was the whole world.
Piss off me”
Good, but as they had no liquor licence we did not eat an evening meal here. The hotel is historical, the rooms are well appointed and I loved the lap pool. The menu was very good for a Sri Lankan restaurant, and breakfast in the garden was to an 8/10 standard. Service was very good and all staff were very attentive.
Old world estate meets modern opulence ”
My husband and I had a lovely stay. The hotel itself is a beautiful building; the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating to all of our requests; the location was central and in walking distance to the national museum; the dinner that we ate out in the candlelit garden was sensational :)
A superb hotel to indulge in”
We had a great stay in the hotel. The suite was very attractive and spacious, while we found the staff very helpful and amicable. Dining at the restaurant was also very pleasant, both breakfast and dinner.
Luxurious and intimate”
Have stayed at this boutique hotel twice in the last two years, first with my husband for romance and sightseeing and then with a girlfriend for a shopping trip. The service is consistently superb - the concierge and managers can help with anything and everything. Take a tuk tuk or cab to restaurants, shopping, and the sea. Fabulous breakfast, restaurant and in room dining, too.
The best hotel to stay in Colombo!”
1. The hotel is located at the most affluent neighborhood of Colombo. The surrounding is peaceful. 2. The hotel was a old colonial building amd was the residence for three previous Prime Minister. 3. The older of this hotel has amazing touch for details. If you are a design lover, you must stay here. 4. The service level is as good as hotel like the Four Seasons. 5. Just too many great things..... stay here.
The best beautiful hotel like palace”
The room and building hotel, room, door, closet it s perfect like staying in palace , just the bed make a noise maybe cause it s old and water came out for shower it s slow very much. For the staff it s very lonely , Food it s good if you love food not spicy , All staff friendly , have great smile and always get take care from them in everything . For Laundry service it s super expensive , I just send 6 underwear of man and 3 T-Shirt , it was alomost 200 USD but they make it perfect like new cloths it all but I just want clean anyway . If you love to be in City , Cinmanon hotel it s the best location , if you looking for the beautiful hotel and perfect but dont mine about location please select to be HERE and take a tuk not expensive it all , and staff hotel call and standby for help you 24 hours .
Wonderful place for honeymoon”
the hotel has only 10 rooms. our room has a huge living room, huge bedroom, and a huge bathroom. the room even has a plunge pool! we were transported to a different era. everything from the setting, food, service and much more was wonderful! we will be back.
Lovely hotel always with a smile”
Everything is great, food & breakfast is awesome . The hotel only has 10 suites which means very little crowd. However, only one minus point is that they charge for late check out. We didn't see any crowds or other guest so they could have given a complimentary late check out as our flight was 1am.
The hotel is grand rather than romantic, as perhaps befits a building that housed for many years Sri Lanka’s prime minister. The bedroom is huge and the bed extremely comfortable. The staff are highly professional and the food, especially the breakfast, is first class ( though there could be more Sri Lankan dishes on the dinner menu). The two downsides are firstly the swimming pool which is cramped and has no view and the outside dining area. The area itself is fine but the parasols over the tables are a disgrace, - mildewed, badly stained and dirty. They should be replaced immediately.
A Royal Stay”
This was a beautiful hotel with stunning facilities, excellent food and very friendly and helpful staff. We had a wonderful stay here and it was a little spot of tranquillity in an otherwise crazy city.
We stayed at Tintagel as a birthday treat for my husband.. When I made the booking I mentioned about his birthday. Eventhough I didnt have high hopes of getting any special treatment, they not only sent a lovely cake but they also sent some amazing cookies as a treat! Breakfast was really good and we were too full from that to have lunch.. The only con we saw was that we were not given a welcome drink despite us seeing a couple of foreigners who were checking in receiving one which was really odd..but other than that their service was really good..All in all we loved our stay and we would definitely stay at Tintagel again...
