A "home" away from home, excellent location!”
The Park View Guesthouse is a dream to stay. Situated 2 minutes from town and right across the Victoria park, you'll never be too far away from anything. The manager is extremely helpful and you'll be able to get any sort of advise from him from attractions around Nuwara Eliya, to where you'll be heading next. I initially booked a room for 2 nights, but ended up staying an extra night, at the expense of visiting another town. Would've probably stayed for weeks or months!

Simple setting, friendly, accomodating”
Our host at Park View Guesthouse is a kind man and is very accommodating to your travel needs. We experienced a good stay at Park View and would highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone staying in Nuwara Eliya that is looking for reasonable prices and simple room amenities.

Wonderful”
I actually booked for Park View Guest House, but the Tuk Tuk driver led me to the Trevene, owned by the same people. I arrived late at night for Sri Lanka (10:30 - 11 pm) and they just welcomed me in very warmly and understandingly - didn't make any fuss about the mix-up. So the above review is actually for the Trevene, but I can't review the Park View Guest House unless I booked it officially on Agoda. I just would like to highly recommend anything these same people manage: all the staff were beyond nice and service was great.

Very friendly staff, great location , a good budget”
We arrived at this hotel in the evening , like others we also found this guesthouse difficult to locate. Herath, the manager welcome us with a smile and said that soon there will be 3-4 sign boards around the guesthouse. Room was clean, spacious , bathroom was superb with plenty of hot water and great working WiFi 24/7. Mild dampness was there but that's because of weather. There is a central hall with TV and sofa ,that hall is connected to a common balcony from where Victoria Park was visible. For us the best part was the location , 5 minutes walk from City market(De Silva food center, Milano restaurant etc),20 minutes walk from Gregory Lake ,5 minutes from Victoria Park, 15 minutes from Grand Indian hotel. Herath was very friendly , courteous and always ready to server us tea.We spent good time talking to him.He also arranged transport for us to Ramboda fall. This guest house has no restaurant but that was no problem for us as the City market is few minutes walk away . We would definitely recommend this guesthouse if you want a friendly ,peaceful ,no-nonsense place and on a tight budget .You cannot get better than this. Go for it.

Good value ”
This is a small guest house about 10 minutes walk from the bus station up on the hill, it's not that easy to find as there's a side path further up the hill from the main road next to Victoria inn. It would be good if the guest house can show a sign from the main road for easy identification. The owner is quiet but helpful. The guest house is a basic one, but good value for money as compared to the other expensive accommodation at Nuwara Eliya, it also has good view of the Victoria Park.

Very good value for money and the owner was lovely”
Good value for money and the guest house is so close to the town centre. The views over Victoria Park were good, it was nice just sitting on the balcony watching the world go by. The owner was very friendly and chatted to us, offering his help about the local area. The room was clean and big, the only down point was the ventilation wasn't great so felt very damp, the shower floor stayed sopping wet the whole time. That said it is great value for money and perfect for a couple of nights.

Good staff and location but..”
I stayed for one night in nuwara eliya. When I arrived the bus station a men comes and tell us he has recommendation of accommodation. We ignored him as we had booked this guesthouse. We then meet the same person inside the guesthouse. The room is on the ground floor. The view outside is a nice garden. The bed is clean. There is not a single amenity. No soap, no tissue but it's acceptable for its price. The water is hot enough for the cold weather. However, the toilet was really stinging, even I open the windows. The smell was strange, not typical smell in toilets, like dead fish. I have to spread my bathing lotion all on the floor to cover the smell, but the smell comes again thereafter. The only problem is the smell if you bring all the amenities with you.

Very good budget option but not for everyone”
For this price the Park View Guest House is great. There are only 5 or 6 rooms so there is only one person on staff, but that person goes all out making sure your stay is good. The guy went to buy me beer for a low price and they give you a free pot of tea to drink as you admire the wonderful park view from the shared balcony. The issues are that there is no restaurant so you have to go elsewhere, including their fancier sister hotel 5 minutes away. Also, the wifi is very fast until the last few days of the month. If they've reached their bandwidth cap the speed gets throttled to so slow that even email won't always load. Overall quite happy though.

Budget accommodations in Nuwara Eliya. There were a few mosquitos in my room, however, the room was clean. Overall a decent stay.

Nice Location, Great Price”
Relatively new guest house, excellent deal for the area, everything was very clean, nice sized room, close to Victoria Park and the town. Not very well labeled from the road. Extremely friendly staff. Great place for budget travelers!

Nicely located plave for a good price”
Park View is a nice guest house in the middle of nuwara eliyia town. Couple of minutes to walk to victoria park or town centre. Rooms are fine and clean and the bathroom is OK too. Owner is a nice man who brings cofee and tea. Only remark is that they don't clean the room or change towels (we were there for 2 nights only)

Enjoyable stay in a budget guest house”
We stayed at Park View Guest House for 3 nights and were very pleasantly suprised by the size and comfort of our downstairs room facing the Victoria Park. Both the room and the bathroom were much better than some of the other guest houses we stayed during our month travelling around Sri Lanka. Herath the manager was exceedingly kind and helpful and brought cups of tea and biscuits to the room for us when we were not so well on day one of our stay. Would definitely recommend this budget guest house.

Very good location and wonderful manager”
Park View is located very close from the city center, just three minutes walking from the bus stand and commercial area, but also is in the beggining of a hill so it is quiet and with wonderful views to the trees of Victoria's park. The rooms are also quiet comfortables (go ready to cold nights) and rooms and baths are clean . The manager is an excepcional man who always take care of your necessities, a very friendly and helpful man.

Comfortable stay in friendly budget guest house”
We stayed four nights and really appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the easygoing atmosphere. We organised our trip to Horton Plains via Park View and were given other recommendations on what to see in the city. The room was clean and comfortable, though there were signs of damp. There is a handy little kitchen for making tea and a communal area for hanging out in. The shared balcony overlooking the park is a great spot for reading or watching the sunset.

Great little centrally Located guesthouse. ”
We actually arrived at The Trevene which is the parent Hotel of The Parkview and just next door, by accident and were sat down to tea by the proprietor. I think they call this area Little England or something and the tea service reminded me of my grandmothers teas which was lovely. We were then taken over to the The Parkview and shown our room which was massive with a great view of the lovely park. That evening we sat and chatted to fellow travellers and a Sri Lankan guide. The next day we were a few hours away in a taxi and I realised I had left my passport and £400 in my room. I can't describe the shock. Anyway my guide from The Trevene and the manager of The Parkview had found my passport and money and given it to her for safe keeping. We got back to The Trevene where they were all their to meet me and give me my possessions back and sat us down to tea again before we made out fond farewells and left. Something I will never forget. I will let these words speak for the quality of The Trevene, and The Parkview, where I stayed. Finally I must thank my guide Gihan. He was literally worth his weight in gold. He facilitated the return of my money with phone calls, calmed me down when I was in a panic and was about as professional as I can imagine a guide to be as well as knowledgable and amusing.

Brilliant location ”
A brilliant destination for everyone. The room was very clean and well maintained. The manager who lives in the buiding is great and really hospitable and friendly making tea all times of the day. All in all if you are planning a budget trip than Park view is the place to stay.
