Best place in Mudgee and fantastic service”

Location, Convenience, Site Facilities, Room Layout

We stayed in a Deluxe room for a few days. The rooms themselves are quite comfortable, clean and have wonderful open balconies. One thing missing is a kitchenette, and a couple who stayed with us in the room next door also had a faulty air con. The resort itself is beautifully laid out, with lovely gardens and a very tranquil, country setting. The facilities are great - pool, spa, sauna and BBQ area - and staff are very helpful. We were missing a few utensils for the bbq, but the kitchen staff were happy to provide us with anything we needed. One annoyance - being in the country, I think that they spray insecticide in the evening to kill off bugs that swarm to the resort. The smell of the chemical is unbearable and would make us sick. Location wise, it is literally a 2 minute drive from the Mudgee CBD, and at the beginning of the wine trail. When you leave the driveway, you turn left to start the wine tasting cheese factory is within walking distance), or turn right go into town for your shopping/dining needs. It is the perfect place to get a real country-stay feel, with the convenience of being close to all the action. We will definitely be staying here again.

    Solid little performer”

Big rooms, good location and service

We stayed here for 4 nights. We had 2 rooms - a double for our 5 and 12 year olds and an adjoining suite for 2 adults and our baby. In retrospect we would have been quite comfortable in the suite, which was huge and had a full bathroom plus an ensuite, 2 tvs and 2 fold out couches. This place is clearly in the process of upgrading. The beds, carpet, Tvs and some furniture was new (or newish). The bathroom in the twin room was new and what you would expect in a 3 or 4 star hotel. The bathrooms in the suite were not renovated yet and were showing their age ( as other reviewers have noted) but still clean and useable. The porta cot they supplied was new and clean and they were happy to put it together for us and make up the bedding in the cot, which they supplied. The restaurant/buffet breakfast was adequate. Mudgee is benefitting from the mining boom - which is great for shopping, eating and general vibe of the town, but it means you pay Sydney prices, including in the hotel restaurant - even if the overall finish of the food is not always up to Sydney standards. Overall, the service was very good. One night our baby was sick and housekeeping was very quick to come to our rescue with a fresh set of sheets for the porta cot. They even washed our cot blanket and returned it dry and folded the next morning. The rooms were cleaned well each day and they were thoughtful enought to provide extra fresh milk for us each day. The location is good if you are likely to drive around a lot. It's only about a 10 minute walk into the centre of town, plus there's a good walking/bike path that runs all the way into town past a park good for picnics/kids play. The grounds a big enough for kids to run around in and there's a tennis court and a pool. Next door is the cheese factory which has a fantastic cafe and sells pretty good wine and cheese. The bottom line - if you can get a room at a decent rate ( we got a decent discount through agoda) then this is a good value ho

Our stay at this motel was very enjoyable. The motel is situated in spacious grounds with lovely lawn areas and water features - lakes, fountains, ponds, etc. Our ground floor room had a front door for access to car park and a back door with full sliding glass and gauze opening onto the parkland grassed areas. The room was spacious, with queen and single bed. Very comfortable. Dining room is spacious. Meals were very high standard.

Good size room at a good price with lots of amenities. Staff were excellent helpful and professional. It was a short distance out of town. unbeknown to us until we got there was that a severe storm had ripped through Mudgee the week before and staff / contractors had not had time to clean up or do repairs. We very much enjoyed out stay. Thank you.

    spacious, lovely grounds

Lovely settings, spacious rooms, clean with good beds.Very comfortable, however, very loud noise coming from Kitchen extractor/ a/c. Felt I was given room closest to kitchen as I paid lower price. Dinner was unaffordable at a set price of $120 and $65 for buffet...... but it was New years eve. I had to dine out at a local restaurant. One facility that I enjoyed was a spa jet bath in my room, very welcoming after a long drive. overall review. Good friendly, polite staff. Entertainment as they put on a firework display for the local people... very nice.I would be happy to return at a special price.

A convenient central location but a factory like a”

Good location, efficient service, pleasant grounds.

This is much more a conference centre than a resort. The atmosphere is that of a factory designed to process large numbers of people quickly with a minimum of fuss, but with little finesse. Everything works smoothly but lacks any extra love and care. Service is as little as possible, provided by mostly very young and semi trained staff. All very efficient and a good location from which to explore the Mudgee area, and that is all.

    nice comfortable room
Restaurant and room service pricey, over the bath shower.

We stayed at this resort when atending a family function in Mudgee. The room was very comfortable and clean. It offered everything we needed. We appreciated the toaster and electric kettle provided so we made our own breakfast. The bathroom was a bit dated and I really don't like over the bath showers. The airconditioning heated the room well and we could leave it on so when we returned from the function the room wasn't icy but very welcoming. The pool and jacuzzi looked great but unfortunately we were too busy to make use of them. Overall a very nice resort ont he edge of town and we would stay there again

An excellent two days stay in a group of 9 friends. We had 5 adjoining rooms upstairs and the large verandah made it easy to socialise with the group. The grounds are beautiful and it was an easy distance walk into town. The only negative was that it was quite expensive. However, overall a very pleasant stay.

    A hotel in Mudgee”

    Its close to town.

We stayed at this hotel for a wedding nearby because of the price and its proximity to the town. The grounds are very neat and well kept. However, after talking with friends also staying here, the rooms are hit and miss. Some had great shower pressure, others had none and mould. Our room had weak water pressure and thin walls, which made it hard to sleep, when your next door neighbour comes back at 11:30pm drunk and turns the volume of the TV up to 11. Our room was under a flight path, which for us is ok as we don't mind going plane spotting and no jet engined aircraft took off over the hotel, but if you're someone who doesn't like being woken at 6 to a turboprop taking off, I recommend you reconsider you get a room furthest from the airport. This hotel needs to tone down the scented cleaner. If you're someone who has allergies (asthma or hayfever) it may be enough to trigger an episode. We don't have either but it made our eyes water. The staff were friendly and courteous.
