Just outside the PARKROYAL Yangon Hotel is the La Pyay Wun, one of Yangon’s few shopping centers. The famous Bogyoke Market is down the street but still within walking distance. The famous Schwedagon Pagoda is a bit further and will require a taxi ride, but it is definitely worth the trip as it is one of Myanmar’s premier tourist attractions. PARKROYAL Yangon Hotel is a very well managed hotel with excellent service etiquette and facilities. Club 5, which is one of Yangon’s premier entertainment venues, has a small disco, a live music venue, and a bar. There is also a swimming pool, a modern fitness center, and an aerobics studio.

Lovely hotel, great staff, good location, wifi”
This hotel is relatively new and has all the international benefits you would expect from the brand. And as a bonus the wifi actually worked well enough to upload my photos! The staff were great - helpful, efficient and friendly - "AA" who is a lobby assistant in particular. The rooms were nice - had everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel and even free minibar that was restocked daily! Good hotels in Yangon are rare, I also stayed in the Sedona too, which compares very unfavourably with the Parkroyal. I would choose the Parkroyal over Sedona in a heartbeat on any future trip.
Excellent and helpful”
Parkroyal's location is ideal for getting both downtown, and getting up near Inya Lake is a straight shot and fairly easy if traffic isn't too bad. Because I move around a lot when I visit Yangon and also like to have access to a gym, I regularly stay at Parkroyal. On this trip, I got food poisoning at a downtown restaurant and was super-ill in the middle of the night. I called the front desk, and the staff went above and beyond the call: they arranged for a doctor to come, helped the doctor during his treatment, went to get the prescribed medicines for me, kept me well supplied with liquids, called the next day to make sure I was okay and offering to bring some soup. They even fronted the money to pay the doctor for me so I would not have to deal with it until I was feeling better the next day. They were also flexible and responsive about cleaning the room when I finally had the energy to venture outside again. It was a rough couple of days, and I was so relieved to be in the good hands of the Parkroyal staff. A couple of days before all this happened, I had a birthday and they put some flowers in my room and gave me a cake. They've won my loyalty!
Comfortable but Overpriced”
I've stayed here twice and on both occasions the hotel was great. The rooms are large, modern and comfortable; wifi is reliable (if a bit slow sometimes); the staff are all very professional and accommodating; and the breakfast selection is amazingly good! However, while the Parkroyal was in a league of its own a year ago, there are now other hotel options in Yangon that offer a similar level of service and, crucially, reliable Internet connectivity, but also at significantly lower prices. So I'd definitely recommend this hotel as a great place to stay in the city, but I don't feel they can continue to justify their high room rates.
Unexpectedly Nice Hotel”
I traveled to Yangon on a business trip and was a little nervous about what the hotels might be like in Myanmar, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel. The property was nice, the rooms were quite good, and the breakfast buffet was very good. Only nit-pic is that the orange juice they served wasn't really orange juice, but rather some kind of orange drink. Since I was on a business trip, I didn't do any sightseeing, but the location seemed to be pretty good. It seemed walkable distance to Shwedagon Temple. There did not appear to be a lot of restaurants in the neighborhood the hotel was in. I did not compare prices with other hotels, but I would guess that the Parkroyal was quite expensive for the area.
Value for Money”
Very nice hotel considering the overall development of the Yangon city itself - staying at Parkroyal Yangon feels the same as staying at any international hotel in more advanced cities. The location is great with walking distance to Sule Paya and only a short taxi ride to Shwedagon Paya. The staff all speak very fluent English and are willing to help. Very quick attandence to requests. One of the few downside is that room for my 2nd stay has ants going in and out of the bathroom sink. But the staff upgraded me from Deluxe to this Junior Suite for free so I can't complain.
Beautiful Hotel, with friendly and helpful staff”
I have recently come back from Burma after visit family there and we decided to spend a couple of night in a hotel so that we could see Burma for ourselves. The ParkRoyal was a wonderful experience, I have a Spa and visited all the buffet choices, the international Buffet, Chinese Buffet and The Japanese Buffet which was my favorite. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the Hotel was walking distance from Markets and the Shwe Dagon Pagoda, if you can't walk in the heat then a taxi ride was only 2000 kyat pretty much anywhere from the hotel. I will definately go again, Thanks Agoda!!
Great hotel and staff”
I usually stay at Sedona but as it was fully booked so for this trip I stayed at ParkRoyal for my 7 nights in Yangon. This is a very pleasant hotel, free wi-fi in the room and throughout the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Japanese restaurant, I was told was the best in Yangon, this I would agree. For future trips I will now stay in ParkRoyal.
you're in for an unforgetable experience at parkroyal yangon, one of the best hotels in myanmar, with superb location that puts you in the heart of the city's prized cultural attractions, including the legendary shwedagon pagoda and its heritage sites. the hotel also benefits from being only a 30-minute drive from yangon international airport.
Good hotel in a convenient location”
I visited Yangon with some trepidation, given the nature of the country's regime, and a lack of information about the place. As it turned out I had no problems at al. On the hotel front, I needdn't have worried at all, the Parkroyal is a modern and well appointed hotel. Be aware, though, that internet access, while available in rooms, is slow and sometimes spotty (probably not the hotel's faul,) international cell phone service is limited to non-existent, and landline calls are horrendously expensive ($8 per minute for calls to the US, for example)
An ideal hotel for business travellers. Room is big and comfortable. Location is good too as it's near Bogyoke Market and Junction City. The staff in the hotel (in particular the reception, the room service and the housekeeping) are very friendly and ready to assist you. Very good service too and will definitely stay here when I'm back to Yangon. Also, personally I feel it's a good hotel for families as well because of its facilities. Thank you ParkRoyal for the pleasant stay! :)
Dear Yi, Thank you for the great review of our hotel! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again very soon. Sincerely yours, Aye Kyawt Khaing Front Office Manager
Expensive for Yangon, but worth it.”
For a hotel in Yangon, the parkroyal is expensive. Compared to prices in other countries, it's good value. The first room we stayed in had a faulty air conditioner that couldn't be fixed by engineering, so we were promptly updgraded to a slightly better room. The location is great, close to markets, downtown, Chinatown, shopping and food centres. The staff are super friendly and helpful.
Dear Stuart, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We hope to welcome you back to our hotel very soon! Sincerely, Aye Kyawt Khaing Front Office Manager
Hotel with great location”
The stay in Parkroyal was very pleasant. The room was big and spacious. It is a relief to have internet access freely available in the room when mobile phone roaming service is non-existent. The lobby is nice. It is a great business hotel, centrally located. There's alot of taxis outside to roam around Yangon. Overall, our stay in Parkroyal was very good.
Wonderful hotel downtown”
Our stay at the Parkroyal was exceptional. The rooms were spotless and being on the Club Floor we enjoyed the benefits of the lounge especially cocktail hour! However, what set apart this hotel from others we have stayed in was the staff. They were attentive, helpful and looked after all of us extremely well. Will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and will certainly be staying there again when next in Yangon.
Dear Joanne, Thank you for the great review of our hotel! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again very soon. Sincerely, Aye Kyawt Khaing Front Office Manager
Very nice hotel, expensive by Yangon standards”
Parkroyal is a luxury hotel in Yangon, a city which does not have many hotels of this quality. Service was good, everyone would always greet us with a smile and most of the staff would speak at least some English. Minor misunderstandings occurred, but these were quickly corrected: for example we had agreed to have a late check-out, but the day before our departure the front desk didn't find any mention of such an agreement on the computer. However, they did allow us our late check-out without a charge when we insisted on it. The rooms were always meticulously cleaned. The breakfast buffet had lots of variety (Burmese, Western, Indian, Japanese) and the quality of the food was generally good. A quiet pool area with 80's music was situated in the back. The bad side was that the hotel is really quite expensive by Yangon standards. The internet connection didn't work all the time (a common problem in Myanmar, so we guess this wasn't the hotel's fault). The only credit card the hotel accepts is Visa, and they take a 4% commission.
oasis of luxury and rest amidst hot 'n busy yangon”
parkroyal offers a welcome oasis of rest and luxury for a few nights after traveling around myanmar. clean rooms of normal size. bathroom with great shower! of course the swimmingpool is a big plus. great central location near bokyoke market and shwe dagon. would choose this hotel again.
Very pleasant stay with extra helpful staff.”
the park royal was the ideal place to stay in yangon. hotels in yangon are extremely packed these days, and i had to move to another hotel after three days. the differences were stark. park royal was much better, as you can tell that the staff have true training and orientation to the service industry. most of all, the helpful staff at park royal can really help if you are a first time traveler to yangon - helping you get around and even find other accommodation, if needed. i found the food at the restaurant to be pretty pricey and not too exciting. the japanese restaurant was also pricey, but really quite good. the location was great - right by the main market, and the rooms were very comfortable, with exceptionally comfortable beds. the bathrooms could use a bit of updating, but they were completely fine, as well.
Centrally Located Hotel”
The Parkroyal Hotel Yangon is very well located! It makes getting around the city very easy and convenient. The staff are impeccable and service is excellent. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable! And the best selling point is the free Wifi!! The staff speak English well, so communication was not an issue. And they are very eager to help with directions and points of interests!!
Great location for city tourism”
the parkroyal is one of only a very few hotels in yangon that would meet westerm tourist expectations as to amenities, staff assistance, city location for business or tourism, and comfort. the hotel is located within a few minutes walking distance of many local walking streets that show off the local customs, shops, and peoples life styles. great for getting immersed into myanmar city life.
Great room, great breakfast, great service”
(note: this is the same as my review from two days ago since i stayed there one night, travelled, and then returned and my impression of the hotel was similar) i was here on business and found the service to be very efficient. with my hotel voucher from agoda, i was checked in within a couple of minutes. very nice, well-trained staff, although i had no major problems so i don't know how they deal with issues out of the ordinary. major downside is, like other hotels in yangon, it is very expensive, both for the room charge as well as other things such as mini-bar (us$6 for a can of beer!) and laundry.
Nice hospitality and service”
I have choose this hotel when I was in Yangon because of location of hotel. The hotel is near to Scott Market and can work around 10 minute to the market. Surrounding, there are safe and scurity to sight seeing at night. Also you can work from Shwe Dagon Pagoda about 30 minute to the hotel after visiting.
