Ortigas / Pasig is located to the south of Quezon City, and it’s part of the patchwork of communities that make up Metro Manila. There was a time when this was the capital of the Philippines, but the modern focus is on business and industry rather than government.
Part of Pasig City, Ortigas is one of the most important business districts in Manila, and it’s a likely place for business travelers to be based. High-rise architecture characterizes the region bound by Meralco Avenue, Ortigas Avenue, Shaw Boulevard and EDSA. This area boasts a fantastic selection of shopping malls, international restaurants and up-market bars and night clubs – all within reach of a selection of business hotels in Ortigas.
The rest of Pasig has a more industrial atmosphere. The factories and warehouses here are key production facilities for international manufacturing. A set of international business travelers and executives stream through Pasig City on a regular basis, so there are plenty of upscale entertainment venues throughout the district catering for these visitors.
Nearly all of the hotels in Ortigas / Pasig offer four-star or higher service and facilities. There are few budget hotels in the area, as the majority of visitors have superior tastes and are backed by expense accounts. Relatively few commercial tourists base themselves in Pasig City, opting instead for commercial Quezon City or historic Intramuros.
