Lovely hotel on the banks of the river Kwai”
My stay at the Pavilion Rim Kwai Resort was very nice, and I was pleased with my room, which was lovely and spacious. The location of the hotel, right on the banks of the River Kwai, was really nice and provided good views. The hotel's swimming pool was great and I took full advantage of it, using the area to relax after a lot of travelling. I can really recommend this hotel.
Peace and Quiet”
This hotel is situated approx. 25 km north of Kanchanaburi, on the banks of the River Kwai. The location is wonderful and the hotel facilities are excellent for any who wants a quiet get-away. The hotel is large and caters to large groups and bus tours (often with loud music in private banquet rooms), but this is not a serious problem. There is nowhere else to eat nearby, but the hotel restaurant prices are reasonable. However, the food was inconsistent: some good dishes, some poor. The hotel has Internet services (100 baht for 70 minutes), bicycles for rent cheaply, a snooker room, two large and beautiful swimming-pools. The rooms are large, but can be a little run-down: our room had a badly damaged wall, and no attempt had been made to repair it. The bathroom had both a bath-tub and a separate shower. All in all, good value for money -- but you definitely need your own transportation.
Pavilion Rim Kwai Resort”
Good place to stay, on a par with other resorts I have stayed at on the Kwai. Seemed very quiet in regards to customers maybe 14 including our 6. I would stay there again as I have my own car but this is not so different from a lot of other places through out the Kwai. Value for money is very good as is breakfast and meals.
Good value for rooms and restaurant meals”
the hotel is a large resort hotel about 25 km from downtown kanchanaburi located right on the river. it is somewhat dated and not in its prime, however the rooms are large, very clean and comfortable. it is located close to nichigo golf course, which is the reason we selected this hotel and it was convenient to get to the course. it was very quiet, with only a few guests.
A peace of heaven”
You must visit the tiger temple 30 mins from the resort and the waterfalls. They are fantastic and worth the walk to the very source if you are good on your legs. If the walking is too much you can manage the second tier and swim in the beautiful waterfall pool it is so beautiful. Lots of historic things to see and do Hell fire pass, the museums brige over the river kawi. Some of the most stunning countryside in Thailand with the mountains on the west separating Thailand and Myanmar. Fantastic!
Located in a great location next to the river Kwai. Very good for family with children.
Quiet hotel in beautiful location”
I had a wonderful stay here but it's not everyone's cup of tea. The staff were friendly and helpful but they were nervous when speaking English (I speak Thai so did not have a problem). The rooms were a little old but large and clean, I had a fantastic view of the garden and mountain. I was the only non-Thai guest which I really liked as the swimming pools were most empty and quiet. Breakfast was not overly interesting but tasty and all the food was generally good. I rented a bicycle and cycled around the area which was lovely but this hotel is quite a way from Kanchanaburi town so it's best if you have your own transport.
Value for money deal”
Well the pictures make the hotel look better than it is in real life. However we just needed to spend one night there on a trip to see family so we weren't looking for the Hilton. The hotel is quite far away from Kanchanaburi itself but we were looking forward to taking our baby to the Earawan National Park which then is closer by. Breakfast is a Thai buffet type with toast, eggs (American BF) but the sausages and ham are all rather "economic". However overall for the 1300THB we paid for the night incl. breakfast I've had much worse and if you're ok with these short comings this place is not to bad. Didn't have time to try the pool but it looked alright from far. The clientel here are mostly Thai and Asean members.
really nice hotel! two pools to choose from. restaurant was ok, a bit pricy for the quality of food. the staff was very friendly and helped us learn some new words and phrases. convenient for travelers with transportation, we had a rental car and were able to easily find caves, temples, waterfalls, and historical areas.
quiet hotel for relaxing with nature”
we were very happy with the hotel especially the second night where they held the gala dinner and new year count down activity for 2014. food is variety and delicious with great service of their employees.
it was a second time we went there for celebrating new year. Hotel is good in terms of staff, Food and surrounding.
Nice property with decent staff”
This place has an elegant property with almost all facilities a 5 star would have. It is a bit away from the city which can be quite rewarding if you have your own convenience.
Unless there is a seminar or business meeting on they cut the staff down to virtually nothing,”
2 swimming pools and beautiful gardens overlooking river are plusses however this place is basically a business centre and is remote 35km to kanchanaburi and 500baht in a taxi each way
Not the best room or value in the area”
You can do much better for the price. I booked last minute for a Bangkok escape on a long weekend so now lots of choices. Sort of run down, the big roof-top fans were noisy, WiFi is 150 thb per 2 hours. Website says fitness center, but they don't have one. Just smirked when I asked about it. Really you can do better. Many small places for less, or bigger but nicer resorts for the same.
Good for family trips”
Location is good. Close to the river. But the hotel is a little bit old and need to renovate the rooms.
It's ok - fairly good standard.”
We were there for a bicycle training week-end in the nearby mountains with our amateur racing team from Bangkok. The hotel is a bit run down and old, but staff is nice and the all day restaurant is ok too. It can be either empty or full - expect large groups and receptions at week-ends.
lovely hotel, close to erawan falls.”
we stayed here for 1 night, it was a very relaxing atmosphere right by the river. we enjoyed a good buffet breakfast with very friendly staff. overall experience very good!
Old but good”
Big old hotel, ok breakfest, ok swimmingpool, good balcony, good location along river and quiet. A bit far from everything.
never again! ”
it's an old, rundown place, and you can see it everywhere. room interior is falling apart, bathroom looks like it wasn't cleaned in years, warm water wasn't working in the evening, tiles in the swimming pool are missing, etc. it's a pity, because you can see that it once must have been a pretty countryside hotel, but obviously no one reinvested in it. the worst part of our stay was the new years gala dinner. first, they force you to book it, even if you don't want it, otherwise you won't get a room. on top, it was completely overprized and poor quality. we paid thb 1,500 per person and got an all-you-can-eat street-food buffet. beer and wine wasn't even included, only soft drinks. for the same amount of money i could get a nice 3-course set in a good restaurant in bangkok. staff was nice. however, it's a place catering mostly thai people, so staff doesn't speak much english. also keep in mind that the place is far away from all tourist attractions like the river kwai bridge or the erawan waterfalls. it's deep in the countryside. it wasn't a problem for us since we were driving an own car.
good hotel very friendly staff roomsgood sized”
had agood one night stay would highly recomend anyone to stay food very good
