Faded jewel in the Crown”
Good location, easy to park, five minutes to the sea. The only downside would be the slightly faded décor of the rooms, obviously once really good, but fading........... Good staff, easy check in, no problem!
Newly Renovated Business Hotel”
After reading some of the previous less-than-positive reviews I hesitated to book The Pavillion Hotel. I'm glad I ignored the bad reviews. This business-oriented hotel has been completely renovated. Our room had a fresh coat of paint and refinished furnishings. It was clean and fresh smelling. Everything worked: the TV, the hot water, the air con, the fridge. The free WiFi was a pleasant surprise at 12 Mbs download and 3 Mbs upload. Thanks to numerous wireless routers, the WiFi signal is strong both in the rooms and public spaces. The hotel is conveniently located. The beach is about a kilometer to the east. The "lake" is a few hundred meters to the west. Old Songkla, the railway station market, the museums and the Tang Kuan Hill Lift are all within easy walking distance. There are a number of dining and drinking establishments a few hundred meters from the hotel. Transportation is readily available just outside the hotel. The buffet breakfast is very Asian, but there's plenty to eat and the coffee is good. Definitely recommended.
Value for Money”
Location is good as it is near to the Sunday market and Night market ( Fri-Sun). Room is clean with nice floor tiles. Aircond is not cooling but bearable, I hope they will upgrade the aircond soon. The let down if you travel with kids is no swimming pool available. However, you may use the sister hotel Rajamanga near the beach front. Hotel staff say is walking distance but I suggest you take a tuk tuk which cost you 50Baht.
A horror hotel”
It was unpleasant and a scary hotel when the management tried to save the electricity, the lobby was dark with no lights on, the receptionist told us that water heater not working, we went up to see the room, it was an old hotel and scary. End up we just check out without staying there. And move to A list hotel, which just behind these pavillion songkhla hotel.
Poor facilities and cleanliness”
Everything look very old. Facilities not upgraded except for air-conditioning. The lobby feel so creepy.. dark and gloomy. Not sure the management try to save electricity or they didn't do the maintenance? I will not recommend this hotel.. unless you really need low cost hotel.
Hotel condition 4 star is not like what we expected and shall be. Rooms bed are not clean as well as toilets. Air-cond not cold . No jugs and glasses as well as coffee's . American breakfast is not as what should be. A lot of mosquitos at the lobby. I totally wont recommend anyone to go to this hotel
One week solo holyday in Songkhla”
This hotel is a middle hotel not very good not bad, but ok. The room has been renovated, so the rooms has improved resently. But I stay in this hotel because of the location, oand because I know the hotel and the surroudings very well. There is no swimming pool, and a very small gym, the breakfast is avarage for this kind of 3 star hotel, bread, eggs, coffee, tea, juice, corn flakes etc. But the location is excellent, walking distance to restaurant, bars at night, and the place is quiet at night.
Hotel is OK, but location is at city center, easy to get to weekend market. Need transport if if you are going to the beach with young kids. Breakfast is OK but hygiene may be a concern (saw cockroach) but I have no issue with the food.
Stay here every year”
Every year I have come back here for a vacation, For ten consecutive years living in this hotel, mainly because of its location, in the city center, but this hotel is very old, Facilities quite old.... I think I will looking a new hotel for my next visit.
Helpful staff, Great location, Not Clean”
If you are looking for a clean hotel, this is not the one. It is a very old hotel without any refurbishments. The air conditioner in my room is very noisy. Bed sheets are not clean. However, staffs are quite polite and helpful.
Amazing Value - Poor Air Quality”
Unfortunately, the air pollution from the Indonesian fires made the entire region extremely unhealthy. This is a very nice beach town that is not a place I can recommend until the Man made fires are extinguished. If you must travel to this area, this hotel is fabulous for the price. If travel to the affected areas are not required, go somewhere else! Do your research on this tragic man made environmental disaster. The Indonesian government obviously condones setting these fires to clear land or the practice would stop. I am shocked and horrified.
Nice location but need renovation ”
The location is superb as it can reached all touristic spots within 10 mins walk. Staff are supportive. However, the hotel facilities are very old and need huge renovation i.e., shower sets, lift system, fitness equipment, etc. Also, Breakfast is not so perfect just a few foods as choice
Cheap 2+ Star hotel; poor wifi”
This is not even a 3 star hotel. Hard to get taxis or tuk tuks. Restaurant is good and so is the buffet breakfast. Front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. Songkhla National Museum is three blocks away. Beach is not within walking distance. Street market is across the hotel. Wifi is really bad, with frequent line drops and poor speed. Massage is available in-house -- staff are mostly aged like your mama.
it was a terrible experience”
It was a terrible experience. I tmade one booking on the same period for two night over the phone to this hotel however, by call, I could only get one night. Therefore I tried to book for two night on agoda and I got it. Anyway when I arrived to the hotel, I mentioned the first booking and then I refer to the agoda booking after. The staff react strangely after they k ow I booked through agoda n they change our room suddenly from high floor to the lowest one. The first room we had was very dirty and the television was not working. When we ask the hotel to fix this problem. The guy came at 9 pm to fix the television. since we had sp many unhappy with this room I made a call to lobby and complain with the front desk. The lady pick up the call, after she knows I was mad and ask for solution she ask me to hold the line so I did, and she cut the line in the air. I was very angry so I went down to see her. The lady was unable to speak but acting very rude. Therefore I ask for manager who seemss to not knowing how to handle customer so I ask to change a room. She offered us a room on the 8th floor. The new room is cleaner but still very old and dirty. The ceiling in the bathroom is very dangerous as it seems to fall off anytime. Iwould not reccomend this hotel to anyone. And it seems that booking through Agoda doesn't help in getting any privilegdes. Bad hotel still exist !! (internet connection was terrible too)
Old Antique Hotel especially the bathroom taps”
I just stayed one night. This hotel is extremely old especially the bathroom taps. Furniture is old too. Service is bad. The best things about this hotel is location. Breakfast is reasonable, very basic for the price I paid.
Last choice hotel”
We booked the hotel because all hotels in Hatyai City are fully booked. Pros Newly renovated room but still a lot have to be improve. Quite an old hotel and need to do a major face lift. Location at the centre of the town. Cons The furnisher, curtain, upholstery are quite old.
not as promising as shown in the web site”
it actually disappointed both me & my husband when we reached the destination. the hotel gave me unpleasant experience. the room was hot and not clean esp the toilet wash basin/wall. in fact, i regretted not chosing the samila beach hotel.
Basic functional rooms”
When we arrived at around 4pm local time the hotel did not have our booking on record and luckily they had an empty room. However this room looked as though it was in the middle of a renovation and they did not have any other room for us to move into. The reservation system needs to be spruced up. Not recommended for the price I paid. Note: If you're driving in to Thailand like I did, I'd strongly recommend not parking in the basement. It smells like rotten fish 24/7.
I stayed here on a number of occasions when i was working offshore. The food isnt to bad and they have a decent enough selection. The staff are ok not the sharpest bunch but the porters are very helpful in sorting things out for you and advice on were to go and how to get there (for a tip) The hotel itself is aging a little and its starting to show and the rooms could do with a deep cleaning and a bit of refurbishment as there is stains on most of the carpets in the rooms ect ect ect. All in all its ideal for a short, cheap one or 2 night stay on your way through to other places as it has a very central location to some decent bars and restaurants but wouldnt dream of holidaying there
Lovely Hotel but need upgrade.”
force to stay this hotel because all other better hotel fully booked. hotel is okay with the money paid but need more upgrade on the room. hotel got fixed customer from oil & gas company but still have to consider to upgrade the hotel.
