This family run lodge is very pleasant. Very calm area in the busy Mandalay. There is also a friendly squirrel who want to be friend with all the guest. The hotel recommend me also a massage place made by blind people and it was great. I recommended it

Disappointing”
Saw the reviews and expected more. Basic room, rather run down, but main problem is it's too hot. There is a fan in the room, which should be a warning. The airco is ancient and essentially doesn't work. It took two hours to get the inside temperature the same as the outside (still over 30C). The boy said "it takes a while to cool off". Finally by 2AM it was cool enough to sleep. There are much better hotels in the area where the facilities work and the management makes an effort.

Wonderful home-stay-style accommodation located near Mandalay Hill and Mintha Theater.”
We were greeted at Peacock Lodge with a lovely cool fruit drink and allowed to check-in early from our morning flight from Yangon. Our room was simple, but spacious and very private. The large garden courtyard was a great place to relax after our sightseeing; eat our lovely included breakfast; and order dinner if you wanted to. We were at Peacock Lodge over New Year's eve and were served complimentary fruit sour drinks and delicious Burmese snacks. Then, we ordered for dinner (despite the staff being very busy with another in-house function) THE MOST DELICIOUS Burmese tomato salad and chicken curry- seriously restaurant-level cuisine! The hotel's location is in walking distance (through a peaceful neighbourhood) to Mandalay Hill, its famous temples, and the Mintha Theatre for an evening performance of dance and music by young performers. :-)

Value for money & perfect place to explore Mandalay & surrounding town”
It was refreshing to stay at Peacock Lodge during the height of Thingyan Festival. The staff (Maw Maw & Co) are great with their attention for detail and very helpful including the daughter of the owner whose given wonderful advice on things to do, best time to do activities, etc. Service was non intrusive and mindful of the guest needs. I would stay at this place again given the chance to go back to Mandalay.

We have thoroughly enjoyed 4 nights (two separate stays) at the Peacock Lodge this week. A small operation (9 rooms), it is adjacent to the family residence of hosts Suu Kyi and Tun in a residential area approx. 2 km from the Royal Place. Dining is under lovely shade trees and the food was excellent -- a variety of Myanmar and Thai cuisine. Breakfast starts with ample fresh fruit and includes either western fare (eggs, toast) or traditional Myanmar noodles. Lots of care and attention from everyone. The rooms were comfortable and clean, while free wifi was consistent and fair. Communications were easy, and airport transfer to the lodge was quickly confirmed by email. Suu Kyi also arranged sightseeing around Mandalay (Historic Manadalay tours, which I highly recommend) and boat tickets to Bagan aboard the RV Shwe Keinnery (a pleasant, calm 10 hour cruise down river. All in all, an excellent experience at the Peacock Lodge.

welcome retreat from the mayhem of Mandalay”
Very nice, smalk, family-run lodge. Have stayed here on two separate occasions, five years apart. The family who run it and the staff are exceptionally attentive, helpful, and accommodating, and can help you with any questions or problem. It's not a fancy inn in terms of room quality, but it's clean, quiet, and a great place to relax at the end of the day. Beds are a bit firm, but I still slept well. The courtyard out front is the best physical part of the lodge. It's a great place to eat or just relax and collect your thoughts without being stuck in your room. A much better alternative to an impersonal six-story tourist hotel in downtown Mandalay.

Home away from home ”
Peacock lodge provided simple and affordable accomodation . The staff were helpful , moving us to another room when the aircon was not working properly. Breakfast was simple and tasty, toast, fruit and eggs. Coffee tea and juice. They helped us with boat tickets and laundry. Laundry was a bit expensive Meals from the restaurant were good and inexpensive. Beds were a little hard for my taste and the positioning of the beds in our rooms directly under the aircon made for very cold sleeping in a breeze. Overall however a positive value for money stay

It’s a gem of a place with the most wonderful hosts! I have travelled extensively in Asia and their hospitality is incredible! Ask anything and they will be so genuinely happy to help! Anything! Everyone is so smiling and so kind! Our room was super clean and amazingly comfortable! So spacious. There was complimentary tea, coffee and a kettle! Morning breakfast was delicious and the food we ordered for dinner was really nice. Give them an hour at least to prepare and you might want to ask for prices too as they are not displayed. We had fun cycling as the guest house has bicycles and they arranged a taxi transfer for us too. They also arranged a driver so we could travel to Ava and to see the most famous bridge. They all waved good bye when we were leaving. I was so sad to go. What a homely place! A must in Mandalay!

Family run, quiet little piece of paradise in a walkable neighbourhood close to Mandalay Hill. Cosy, bright, spacious, tastefully decorated rooms, English speaking attentive staff, beautiful courtyard/restaurant with mature trees and plants. Good WiFi, delicious meals and breakfasts. A real gem for any age of traveller.

Peaceful place with really helpful staff”
The staff was just really helpful. Recommended us great things to do. The location was perfect, a little hide out from the busy Mandalay. We were trying to get postcards on our last day, which became really difficult, but they tried their best to get postcards before leaving. This was just lovely! The rooms are ok, nothin special, a bit run down, especially for the money. But the staff made everything great again!

Everything was perfect, especially the room, which was airy and cosy. Only problem was they overbooked us the first night and we had to sleep at the neighbor, Ma Ma Guesthouse , which was really good as well.
