Pebbles Rocks”
I booked a TWIN sea facing studio through Agoda. Please note that Pebbles do NOT have any TWIN sea facing studios. Pebbles said that we should not have been sold this type of studio by Agoda as it does not exist !! As I was traveling with my adult son(23) we had made it very clear in the comments box, when booking, that we could not bed share. The hotel saw my comment on my original hotel voucher which you hand in on your arrival at reception. They honored my request by giving us 2 sea facing apartments on our first night and a 2 bedroom apartment during the rest of our stay. Thank you to Pebbles for outstanding customer service. The first 2 rooms were fabulous and had memory foam mattress toppers on the beds - so comfortable. The 2 bedroom apartment,by contrast, had no mattress toppers and very hard beds but the rest of the apartment was lovely. Full kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher. (NOTE: Check your pillows. A lot of them are very heavily stained and we changed ours) We were on the 4th floor and YES, it was very noisy until 2am. The TEX Mex and Mai Thai restaurants under the hotel were fabulous and the Mai Thai cocktails (happy hour 3pm-7pm) were to die for.
Home away from home”
We enjoyed our apartment because of its handy kitchen, good WiFi, beautiful decor and comfortable sofa and bed. There were 16 light switches which once mastered guaranteed great lighting throughout. Even the bathroom mirror had tiny lights that served as a night light. There was plentiful storage space for our suitcases and clothes. We had a small balcony from which we could watch the Grand Harbour and the beautiful esplanade with Valetta just across the harbour. The bus stop to Valetta was a two minute walk away. The hotel staff were very friendly and our towels were changed daily. I would recommend this boutique aparthotel to anyone.
Really nice hotel with great location”
Highly recommend this aparthotel!!! The room was very modern and new! It had 2 flat screen TVs, free wifi, a great kitchen and incredible sea view. The location in Sliema is great! Right across the street from the bus station, lots of restaurant options, close to the shops and shopping centre as well as supermarket. The staff were so friendly and helpful. You won't be disappointed.
Would recommend”
We were here for 2 nights in Dec. Off peak time in Malta, wet and windy season (not beach weather, but still great for exploring) so we had it for great value, roughly £30-40 a night for studio room. Would recommend this for anyone who's looking for aparthotel. Good service, clean room, comfortable bed. Their club, MedAsia Playa was closed for the season, otherwise summertime visitors will have assess to the beachside pool. The aparthotel rooftop has a Jacuzzi but unfortunately we didn't use it because the tub water is cold and has leaves in it. Our room 303 is situated facing behind the building, has a window but it faces a wall. Wouldnt complain because there's still naturally light. Rooms facing front faces the sea, but I'm not sure if it's noisy. Because the ApartHotel is situated above a bar. What I believe can be improved, regular maintenance. Our room has stain on the wall. Some parts looked like furniture was dragged around and the paint was tainted with scratch marks.
Impressive Quality/Cost”
As first-timers in Malta, we were having trouble finding affordable places to stay. As Valetta seemed overpriced, we started looking around, and accidentally we stumbled upon Pebbles. And I am so happy we did. The location is great - 20 min away from Valetta by ferry or bus, full of restaurants, grocery stores, places for a drink. We did not have a room facing the sea, which I think was also a plus as it right in the middle of the busy nightlife but quiet.
Great Apparthotel - good location ”
Lovely apartment with all you would need for a great holiday = fully equipped kitchen including washing machine and full fridge freezer - great views - friendly staff - clean bright and well kept - lift - restaurants and bars close (underneath) - get a higher floored room or one at the side like us (much quieter). Nice sun loungers and Jacuzzi on the roof terrace with brilliant views across the harbour to Valletta. Bus stops (both directions) right outside the hotel and the X2 airport bus also stops here (takes about an hour but only 2.20 euros per person for single or only 12 euros for a weekly ticket - busses are busy all over island but brilliant value. Free use of MedAsia Lido (shuttle or walk 20 mins) nice sea pool and steps into sea as well = loungers and nice bar with food. Get the bus to St Julian's and then stroll like the locals back to hotel .....
Perfect,modern,clean,comfortable,helpful staff”
quiet room, absolutely no issues with noise. it was close to two funky restaurants/bars which you can avail of very easily by simply taking the lift downstairs!! the room was comfortable, clean and staff were very helpful. also reasonably priced for self catering and i would definitely recommend
Great boutique hotel in fantastic location”
we would definitely stay here again and wish the service was like this everywhere else! the hotel is in a great location, overlooking valetta and in close proximity to lots of good restaurant and shopping options. the rooms are nicely furnished and are modern and very clean. the seaview room has a great view. the wifi is really fast. the service is very good and nothing is too hard, and service always comes with a smile. highly recommend this hotel.
enjoyed every minute”
We enjoyed the proximity to the waterfront and the amazing views from our balcony. There are good resturants just below and the biggest shopping centre in Malta, the point, is about 10min walk. Buzzing night life below too. Harbour cruises and tourists activities are offer just below the hotel. We highly recommend this newly renovated hotel, wonderful surprise. Thank you for all the staff, as well the owner, Darren, who made our stay one to remember. We had some issue with our bookings however Darren solved it eloquently, inviting us for a breakfast in his hotel waterfront med asia club. We had fantastic time there, perfect seating near the waves, great food, pools and music.
Location, comfortable, public transport, the view”
Nice stay, staff helpful, polite, room with a great view of the harbour and a balcony. Bars and restaurants just outside, supermarket in 5 mins. If bar/party/traffic noises are a problem, don't choose this one, you can still hear even with double-glazed balcony glass door closed. Airconditioning stops when you open balcony door, have to turn it on again once you shut the door again. Room is comfortable but narrow. The bus stop is Bouverie. From airport catch X2, get off at Bouverie, walk towards the bars, hotel is right there. The bus stop has buses to and back from Valletta, Gozo Ferry, St Julian's. Buses stop there include, 11, 12, 13, 222, X2
Lovely boutique hotel with fantastic staff! ”
The location is fantastic! There is a bus stop directly across the street. Restaurants in abundance including good ones directly below the hotel. Mini Mart next door. Right on the water and has great views of Valetta. Highly recommend a seaview room! The rooms are nice, good size, and have a fully equipped kitchen. The free wifi was great! The staff are so unbelievably helpful and friendly! We have no complaints and nothing negative to say.
Nice Hotel with bad soundproof ”
This is a nice hotel ,rooms are new and clean,Shower is amazing ! Room size is also acceptable !however ,seems the soundproof need to be improved ,in the late night ,we still can hear neighbors talking ! I thought the sound proof issue only happened in Seaview room ,but it’s also happened in our regular room
Good location”
This is a good location for catching the feries across to Valletta, Gozo and Camino. The staff were very helpful and the room was very well cleaned and prepared. From the rooms at back of the hotel you could see a part of the sea but, you are close to other apartments and also looking directly into their windows. The internet was very poor and almost never worked. Avoid staying at the front of the hotel as it above an extremely noisy bar and restaurant. Although all the fittings were new they were all loose, showers, cabinets, doors, taps etc.
Great location and very nice and comfortable rooms”
The hotel is just by the sea, swimming spots are in walking distance. Shops and shopping malls are near too. Our room was with a balcony and sea view, which was a huge plus. Bus stops are near the hotel and also the boat cruises. Couldn't have been a better hotel for us.
Wonderful service”
We were really impressed by the staff who was very friendly and helpful. We arrived rather late in the evening and realized we had forgotten to buy adapters for our laptop and mobile phones but these were readily provided by the staff. As requested we got a room on one of the upper floors with an amazing view of Valletta, however even there we were still able to hear the loud noises coming up from the bars and restaurants below the hotel but then again it was saturday night when we arrived. On the following nights we hardly heard anything. The hotel is very conveniently located and not far from the wonderful Ta'Kris Restaurant. We had a very nice stay.
I would recommend this hotel for young travelers”
Location of this apartment is good, very close to the pier so makes our trip to the nearby attractions like Valetta easy. It is also a short walk to the shopping streets where there are also many cafes and restaurants for us to choose. One thing is the hotel is located upstairs of a bar and the so called "reception" is at 1/F, it took us sometime to find the lift to get there. But overall, not bad for its price.
Location and Luxury”
Bit doubtful of location on first sight - right over a bar. But as our stay of 5 nights did not include either Friday or Saturday it was fine - once the balcony door was closed there was no issue with noise. And the location was a winner - near the restaurants and the quayside. Lovely clean, newly refurbed room. Only thing they forgot was a heating element in bathroom mirror - Travelodges have them! But condensation quickly dispersed. It was self catering. Strangely a teapot was supplied but nothing for coffee. And there were teacups, but no mugs. Everything else very good. We even had our draining board cleared in the mornings! But the most serious issue was the dish cloth. It was a sponge, a bit tatty, and when I squeezed it under the tap lots of suds came out. Uggh! Reader, I boiled it. We had a bright clean tea towel everyday. Why not a dish cloth? Recommended.
Newly refurbed”
Nice bright and newly finished/refurbed, a marvellous view over the harbour and Manoel Island, its set along a fairly busy strip with bars showing lots of football (from England and all over the rest of the world)sports and lots of restaurants , it is close to the bus stops and the ferry to Valletta. The only fault we found was the hotel advertised wifi but it was virtually impossible to get connected from our room.
High quality and affordable stay”
Central location coupled with a really nice room can't be beaten. Plenty of space for a couple plus your own kitchen if you'd rather self-cater, perfect if you'd rather be left to your own devices, but staff friendly and helpful nevertheless. If you can try and get the bay view room.
Superb - but noisy”
Firstly do not be put off but you must take ear plugs with you. The bars at street level are going until 3am BUT the use of ear plugs made this NOT A PROBLEM. What you must do is go, the place is so very good, the views over the harbour are fantastic and constantly changing. The staff are great, especially Ms Nena on the desk. The layout of the room meant that we were so very comfortable and it fitted our needs so very well - being a rest and recuperation vacation. So if the noise from the bars did not bother us )with ear plugs) then it should be OK for you. Easy access to ferries, buses, restaurants, shops . . .
