Pleasant Experience”

Service, Location

It was a pleasant stay at Pelican London Hotel and Residence. Albeit the small room space, service provided was fantastic. Several buses go to the nearest Northern line (Tooting Broadway) and District line (Wimbledon). For Muslim tourists, there are a fair bit of halal fast food and restaurant around.

Son interview in st George's university”

Location , very clean. Comfortable and everything new in a very good condition .

It was a lovely stay in pelican hotel ,my son had an interview in st George's university which it was a 5minutrd walking distance from the hotel to the university , the location is perfect because it's by the corner of the hospital. We arrived very early and the staff lady from Portugal was very nice to give us immediately the room .seven in the morning and usually the check in by 2 o'clock but she was very sensible that we were tired and the room is ready for us . In the room everything was in a very good condition . Also by the corner their is denney restaurant so you can have a full English breakfast for five pounds .its a family run restaurant and serves a variety of nice food .the Broadway tube station is a ten minutes walk from the hotel ,also the high street and you can find a lot of shops and restaurants . My stay in this hotel was very special and really enjoyable ,I would definetly stay again .

If your purpose is cos of having to deal with hospital issues then is the perfect location tooting market is about 15 min walk and tube station.if u r on holiday then this hotel is pretty much far from centre of London. Staff was very good and helpull place really clean all the way from entrance to the room itself. Price wise u can find cheaper places but it all depends ur purpose for ur staying in that hotel for me it was very convenient.

St. George's university ”

I had an interview at St. Georges university and live 4 hours away so travel on the morning wasn't ideal. The hotel is literally on the hospital grounds and a 2 minute walk from the university so ideal for anyone going there. Great value for money, the hotel room was fab and clean. Gave you more than you paid for. The reception staff were lovely and let us keep bags behind the desk as my interview was 9am-1pm so I didn't have to carry them in with me. No kitchen or food served but they do give take away menus and they were really nice. 5/10 minute walk from Tooting Broadway where you can go into London. There is a bus that goes to tooting is you cannot walk the 5/10 minutes. Couldn't recommend it more and would definitely go back. Students going for a visit to the university or interviews I highly recommend!!

Beautiful”

Decor, staff, beds

We really enjoyed our stay. The room decor is so much better than many other 3 star hotel in the London vicinity I have seen. Shower rooms are beautiful too. Beds were very comfortable. We opted for the large double room and were not disappointed. Having seen the regular smaller double/twin rooms, choosing the large double room really makes a difference to comfort for walking room and definitely makes a difference if you have luggage. Staff genuinely want to help and they get things done. Not just all talk. Lovely also.

Perfect for hospital visits”

Location is prefect if you are visiting St. George’s hospital, but at the price, the Pelican is only 10 minutes walk from the Northern Line at Tooting Broadway and would make a good tourist base. Rooms clean and functional, bed and pillows comfortable, double glazed (quiet) and with decent WiFi and TV signals. Neat shower room, although the towels could have been larger! My only ‘moan’ was that doorbells on adjacent rooms were audible past midnight and the housekeeping cart was parked outside my room ... I would definitely stay there again.

Good value for money”

It was my first time in London and I wasn't aware of how huge the city was. This hotel is located near the fringe of zone 3 of the northern line service of the tube. After leaving the tube, I had to either take a bus (which is quite frequent) or walk 15 minutes to the hotel. The hotel itself is pretty easy to spot, it's the only high rise building around the area. It's next to the hospital and across a cemetery. The staff was really helpful in terms of checking in, but be warned due to the hotel located in a residential zone, not many places are open at night for food. There is no restaurant in the hotel as well so make sure your stomach is filled before going back. The room was decent sized and the bed was comfortable. Everything seems properly cleaned and coffee satchels were refilled daily. The main con would be the time spent traveling from the hotel to the city center which takes around 45 minutes each way to get into Trafalgars square.

Surprised with what we got for the price”

As much as the exterior looks like a block of flats, the interior is anything but. The room was small but extremely clean and tastefully furnished. Bed was more comfortable than the usual hotel bed and the quality of sleep gained was also surprising given the location. Also the shower in the room is definitely the best shower Ive ever had, powerful, loads of water. Ill be back, great place given that I was visiting Family this side of London.

A hidden gem”

This is a fabulous hotel for the price! Needed somewhere local to St Georges Hospital and found this place tucked right behind it. Booked a single room and was in all honesty expecting a noisy, tiny little cupboard - what I got was a lovely clean, comfortable and quiet place to stay with an ensuite shower room and a bed that was apparently a single but was really quite big! While I initially thought it would be too far out of the city for anything other than business in the Tooting area I have to say I'd happily stay here again and hop on the tube into the city - Tooting Broadway is a 10 minute walk away and it was only about 25 mins into Knightsbridge. The only downside for me was the lack of a hairdryer - didn't check that before I booked so it may well say this on the site :)

Perfect for anyone visiting St George's”

The Pelican is always my first choice when I visit St George's alone. It is quiet, clean, very smart and I always feel safe there. A huge advantage is that the reception is manned 24 hours a day. The staff are obliging and always very pleasant. There is an attached diner but sadly this was closed on my recent visit.

Best deal in London”

Price (OK, room was on sale), bed, personnel on reception

Traveling to London on budget is tricky, a few things must be sacrificed, one of them location: it took a while to get to the center of the city. The location between a hospital and a cemetary is not the most uplifting, of course, but it is also very well connected. Friendly and effective people on the reception, small issues with the room cleaning were resolved quickly. Room is rather large, missing a bit of storage area. Fast and free Internet access. Tee (and a teapot), coffee and cookies in the room.

Good hotel”

I stayed here for 4 nights as I needed to be at St George's and this hotel is virtually on the grounds of the hospital. The room and toilet were clean and comfortable if a bit basic. It was cleaned and left tidy every day. It is a bit basic so there is no iron/ironing board and my single room did not have a chair or table. There is however an Inroom safe. I cannot complain as I paid effectively £45/night. Overall, a good place to stay if the price is low, and the facilities and location suit you

Good value for money(sometimes) ”

Really helpful and understanding staff member (most of them 👿👿👿🧐). £40/daily for a single room. Sometimes you can get Double Deluxe room for the same price. There was a day when some money have been taken from my account, refund was delayed, I had no money or credit cards with me. Members of staff trusted me and did now kick me out(made a payment in the morning). Otherwise I would have been on the street with homeless people :/ To the blond lady at the hotels restaurant: Cheer up, smile, good luck! Thank you guys!

Exactly what we wanted”

Clean , comfortable, friendly

We booked here as out late at a party and long journey home was unappealing . The Pelican was great: rooms recently refurbished , bed comfortable , all immaculate , shower hot and plenty of pressure . The welcome at the desk was great . This is similar to a Premier Inn / Travel Lodge but when we booked this was better value.

Excellent if you are visiting St George’s hospital”

This is the second time we have stayed at the Pelican as my husband has a lung condition that can’t be treated in Scotland where we live. It is clean and comfortable and has everything you need. It is also only a 10 minute walk to Tooting Broadway tube station. The only con is we do not think the breakfast is great value, for £6 there is cereal, toast, and a few croissants.

Good for St George's hospital”

Literally at the entrance to the hospital the Pelican is perfectly located if that's why you're in Tooting. Stayed with my adult daughter for one night. We shared a small double in a tiny room with a minute shower room. But perfectly serviceable for our purposes. We discovered the air conditioning too late to benefit and the room was hot. The loo had a heated towel rail that rendered the teeny space a sauna. The facilities in the room were fine, there was a large TV and adequate hot drinks station. Breakfast continental cold buffet was a you'd expect. Overall suitable but I wouldn't want to stay multiple nights.
