Cheap stay with good accessibility”
Don't expect 5-star service and room for this hotel. This is only a guest house which offers affordable price and convenience to its guests. I stayed here with my husband and we were quite happy with our stay here. Basic place to sleep and shower, as we spent our days outside of the hotel room. The perks here are cheap hotel rate, we only pay about MYR50 per night and only a walking distance (approx. 1 - 1.5km of walking) to Night Bazaar. Tuk-tuk charges about 100 Baht from this hotel to airport and 80 Baht if you would like to go to Warorot Market. The only downside of this hotel is that the hotel is next to a bar, so during the night, you will experience loud musics coming from the bar.
Terrible! The bed has a polystyrene mattress covered by an inch of soft foam, hence the 'hard bed' comments. The room and shower room was dirty. It was noisy. The curtains may as well have not been there as they did nothing to block the light. We booked for 4 nights after the 1st we tried to check out but there was no one to speak to apart from a lovely cleaning lady who did her best, but couldn't get her boss to come to the guesthouse. Agoda thankfully refunded our extra nights and we booked in one of the many cheaper, cleaner, friendlier guesthouses in the area.
Pepper House is budget style hotel , no breakfast is provided , for walking around , suggest to rental a motorcycle for going very where, beside the area have a lot of bar,for short journey stay is quite value.Papper House location at in small road.
Great value for money, comfortable, practical”
Great budget option for backpackers! Very good for what you pay for. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the room, although it was very basic, was comfortable and clean. The location is fantastic, close to the major temples, as well as the nightlife. Definitely good value for your money.
Absolutely unique decor”
This place was exactly as depicted in the photos on the net. Each room painted with a different colour scheme and feature wall. The owner was very proud of his artwork. The rooms were very comfortable, reasonably basic, but everything worked including WiFi and TV. It was up a relatively quiet back lane but not far at all from the night life and many different restaurants. The owners were happy and helpful, but didn't speak a lot of English.
Great little place conveniently located close to Old City. We chose it because of the colourful rooms, cheap price, and because it was around the corner from the Elephant Nature Park Office. Traveling with 3 teenagers. They loved it and the staff were helpful in adding an extra bed rather than booking an extra room for the third kid.
Great location, fine rooms”
Nice guesthouse for the price. The staff was very nice and held our luggage for us and let us use their room for electricity and a bathroom after we checked out. The beds are pretty hard and they don't clean the rooms for you, but for the price you probably aren't expecting to get pampered.
The location of the hotel is very good, which is very close to Tha Phae Gate and there are bars nearby. The room is decent with the basic facilities you need. Given the conditions, the price of the hotel room per night is reasonable.
Very close to Ta Pae gate ”
Walk in is cheaper than agoda. Quite noisy as near many bar and restaurant, with children should not come here
Was okay ”
toilet was broken and there was no shared toilet down stairs except for at the bar so we had to walk up the street everytime we needed to go. Room was okay, could definitely get better value for money. It was in the middle of Loy Krathong Festival so we didn't have much choice for accomodation.
not worth what you pay for”
not like it looks on the pictures, ac barely working, no toilet paper, the say complimentary bottle of water, that's not true. bed seriously uncomfortable... location is ok but not really where it's happening. asked 2 stay 2 more nights and they charged me more... but the wifi is good ;)
Poor communication ”
The staff were not very good. I wanted to extend for a night. One person said ok and we agreed a price. Next morning I was shouted at and told I would have to pay more and move out. The woman was VERY AGRESSIVE. And shouted at me. I was trying to be cooperative. Not a nice feeling. I would never go back.
Very loud room with nightclub noise and lots of light shining in - not really a place for a good night's sleep. Staff were average - I was left to find my own way to the room and reception was unattended later when I needed help. Wouldn't recommend it, but the location is central.
Overnight Stay, Cute room, Awesome location!”
We only stayed for one quick night due to having to leave the next morning and it provided everything we needed. Awesome location, good wi-fi, air-con, small but comfy room (painted with sunflowers), fast service, and lots of good restaurants and bars nearby. Would stay again.
Worst place to stay ever”
This place is a joke. Four of us stayed there for two nights (2 rooms). I have travelled a great deal in Thailand but have never had a room like this one. Both our room and my friends was on the second floor at the top of the stairs. Both rooms were in the same condition. This place was dirty dirty dirty. Toilet plugged and I was just handed a plunger that never worked. In addition the sink was plugged and when I plunged it black junk just kept coming up. The walls are dirty and in super bad need of painting. There was mold on the bathroom floor and the windo in the bathroom was broken. The bed was just a 3 inch piece of foam that was well worn out. You may have been better off the just sleep on the floor, which was painted concrete or at least looked like it had paint on it many years ago. Like I said --- my wife and I are well seasoned travellers and I have never sayed in a place as bad as this one. In fact this is the first time in my life that I have felt the need to put a negative review on line. I just had to worn others that this place is a dump.
centrally located- but overpriced”
easy to locate as we had been inchiang mai for some time, on arrival and being shown the room we noticed that the room was not air con- and only had a fan attached to the weall. further to this although the room itself was quite big, the bathroom was small and pretty gross. there was also a second door leading to the back of the property- which was unlocked at the time and had we not checked behind a curtain we would not have known it was there- i think this was only because we were on the ground floor=- but maybe better on a higher level. many mosquitos found and killed. the location was very central to thaepae road. we just think it was a little overpriced for what it was. you could stay in a bnb for less.
It' just ok to sleep only”
This is just ok but you can find the better place than this for the same price. The bathroom is very tiny and not clean. Something has been broken and not has any maintenance. Location is very good, it's not far from Tapae Gate.
warm welcome and it stops there”
we were warmly welcomed after a long bus ride which was nice but it truely stopped there. the room was clean enough.. the shower was hot thank god! but the bathroom flooded, the bed was rock hard even as far as asian beds go really really hard the pillows were unbareable! (slept on a travel neck pillow) the room smelt funny and within mins of turning on the light the room was filled with bugs everywhere as the fly screens had holes :(
Convenient and affordable for budget travellers”
The hotel is very close to the several markets and temples and the East gate of the old city. The security for luggage storage is below standard. No breakfast provided. Warm shower and air-con is provided. Good value for budget travelers overall.
bring your ear plugs”
If you stay here bring ear plugs so you can sleep and be sure and find out what you have to do to get room cleaned. I was there for 3 nights and they never cleaned my room. I had to bring garbage down and asked why no one cleaned my room was told maid went home. On my last day I asked why no one clean my room and finally lady told me I had to put sign on door if I wanted it cleaned. I showed her my room and there was no sign in room to put on the door. This is in good location but rooms so I went walking next day and found other places to stay with better rooms.
