The layout consists of a bedroom and bathroom on the first floor, and a kitchen and spacious living area on the second floor, allowing for a luxurious time. Being close to the lakeshore, the room had a lake view, so I enjoyed the ever-changing expressions of Lake Tekapo every day from my room. A noteworthy point is that the facilities are well-equipped, with a washer and dryer on the first floor. Additionally, the kitchen on the second floor is equipped with a microwave, oven, and dishwasher, and has four gas burners. It includes dishes, cutlery, frying pans, pots, a colander, tongs, spatula, and more, providing a wide workspace that felt just like a typical household kitchen (in fact, it was more comfortable than my own kitchen). If I had to mention one downside, it would be that the sink was small, making washing dishes quite difficult. The housekeeping staff, possibly a group of working holiday staff, were young and provided pleasant responses, naturally bringing smiles.
If you drop at Lake Tekapo, don’t miss to sty at this hotel, it’s amazing view and service. This is the best view you can see the lake on top the mountain and bay. The king bed we booked is nice, they are kitchen upstairs that you can cook or you can walk down to main Lake area you can have food there too, there is one supermarket neighborhood you can get fresh food too.
Overall, it was a great experience. The best part was how close it is to the lake, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Although the dishwasher and fridge weren’t clean at first, they responded quickly and moved us to a new room right away, which we really appreciated.
Check in was prompt and efficient even though the staff at the reception could have been nicer. Apartment was clean except for the drain at the kitchen sink. It was choked with some food from previous guest but we managed to clear it. We also made a request beforehand for 2 single beds in one of the rooms, however it was not prepared. The bathroom could get chilly sometimes as the heater was not working during the summer and the hot water from the shower was inconsistent. During our stay, everything else was wonderful especially the housekeeping staff. I was surprised that they actually checked on us everyday and kept our apartment stocked up and tidy. I really appreciated that! Best thing about this resort was the view of the lake and village from second floor of the apartment. We also liked that the village was just across the road. It was our second time staying here and we will be returning again the next time we visit!
