A lovely place in Little India”
Pros: Clean, nice interior design, good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, accessible to many interesting areas in Little India Cons: At I could hear some noise/music from the outside which made me difficult to sleep. The TV has a poor signal.
Keep away from here !”
Old school, they keep eyes on every customer not with attention of giving extra care or services but to protect their asset … feel very uncomfortable no guest feeling at all… like prisoner , full of rules and regulations …
Value for money”
The staff was extremely nice & helpful. The hotel, room & toilet is clean. The location is near MRT station (less than 5 minutes walk) and within walking distance to Mustafa. The breakfast is good also. Will come again.
Colonial architect-great staff-location ”
I was very pleased by the staff Mr.Maichel.Great energy & very detailed to make guests comfortable. The room is clean & good. WiFi is not strong in room but the lobby area is having strong WiFi. Great lobby area with breakfast area. Breakfast is simple but great.Fresh orange juice made me very happy. This is the best hotel in Little India area. Only 100 meters away Rocher station,350 meters from Jalandhar Baser station & 500 meters from Little India station. From Changi airport you can take direct train to Jalan Baser only 30 minutes. Value for money.
Excellant hotel and staff, but very noisy”
I have stayed at this hotel before, and found it great in every way, especially the friendly helpfulness of the staff. However this area of Singapore, Little India, which is interesting in itself, now has many bars opening, which especially at weekends, play loud, thumping music till 3.00 am, making it quite impossible to sleep. Pity.
Budget, location, helpful staff”
I find this place to be reasonably well maintain. A nice budget hotel and the room I booked came with a basic breakfast, enough for me to get by. The plus point for this hotel, it is located within walking distance to Rochor MRT station, a cheaper alternative to get around Singapore. To some, they may feel uncomfortable being in surrounded by Indian/Muslim community. I come from a multi-racial country so it is fine for me. Will consider staying there again when I am back in Singapore.
Thanks to the Perak”
We stuffed up our dates, Perak and Agoda sorted it out for us, which was greatly appreciated. We love the ambience of The Perak, feels like you really are somewhere else. Like most in Singapore the rooms are small, wifi doesn't always work in the rooms but Singapore is for exploring and eating out so it's no big deal, good wifi in lobby and dining room. Breakfast is good, fruit, cereal, eggs, as much toast and coffee as you want. The new Rocher station is less than 3 mins walk so easy to get to Chinatown, Marina Bay or anywhere else and being in the heart of Little India, all kinds of Indian cuisine and great shops. Look forward to our next stay there.
cosy and homey”
i find the hotel cute and feels like staying at home.i love the wooden floors from the second floor up and the traditional window louvers of the hotel. Breakfast is truly appreciated, simple but complete with fruits and varies everyday. the housekeeping forgot to replenish tissue paper and the receptionist readily provided us plenty upon our request. very very close to to subway station. quiet neighborhood. 7-11 at the corner and shopping mall at walking distance. i will recommend to my friends.
Comfortable and safe stay in a charming hotel”
It was my second stay in this hotel. It was a safe and friendly environment again, even with a child. We both liked the charming, old features of the building and the interiour design. The staff at the reception was very helpful. However the roomrate could be a bit lower considering what the hotel offers.(But it is true about most of the hotels in Singapore!!!) (Breakfast could be improved.)
Boutique Hotel with Reasonable Price”
The price is reasonable and it did surprise me and my wife that the hotel's decoration is lovely, just like a boutique hotel! (didn't expect that with this price range though). The staffs are friendly and the breakfast include continental breakfast with extra choice of meal varies everyday which is great. MRT station is 10-15 minutes walk and Bugis Junction is nearby. Ideal location. Will definitely recommend this hotel to any one.
Brilliant location ”
Although our room was quiet small for two ladies travelling together, it was very clean and practical. The wifi downstairs in the reception area was extremely fast and there were tables where we could sit for hours doing business on line. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The location of the hotel was brilliant, we could walk to the train station in ten minutes. Surrounding the hotel are many little restaurants where the food was really good. Perak hotel was undoubtedly a winning find!
good location with great service ”
great location (even we hv to walk more than 10 min to mrt and arab street and little india but it is the nearest hotel for all locations). helpful; staff helping me with map etc. but as i'm muslim i really hope they could provide kiblat arrow in the room. room size is actually normal to spore hotel (very small). good for young people but may be quite inconvenient for family with small children with elderly.
A very interesting and adequate location.”
The personnel her are extremely helpful and nothing seems to be a bother to them. In spite of other comments, we found the breakfast to be delicious and more than enough of all varieties. The male cook, general all hand, at breakfast, was also very friendly and helpful. The staff make this hotel. You have to be careful not to have elephants above you, as you hear all noises from above. This is possibly the casr with many Asian hotels, I suspect.
Clean small room with good location.”
I booked this hotel for 5 days for my parent when they visited me in August. Room is very basic and small but very clean and comfortable. I found this hotel from Tripadvisor (bear in mind hotel in singapore is extremely costly compare to other asia country) and I think it's the best I can find within my budget. We got a room on the right wing of the hotel and it was very noisy at night because it is facing an alley where lotsa indian guys were dancing and singing with loud music. In the end we requested to change room to the other side of the hotel and my parent can finally sleep in peace. It's walking distance to Bugis and you can get plenty of food there and it's located in the central so you can access to all tourist spot easily. I would recommend this hotel to budget traveller who dont spend much time in hotel and just wanna have a good night sleep in a clean room.
a little boutique hotel perfect ”
found this gem on the internet, it was a store converted into a little boutique hotel. the staff can not do enough to help always happy. reception area has air-con they provide a couch or tables and chairs to relax. our room was on the ground floor and very quiet for a good nights sleep. breakfast was a buffet perfect. after staying at fragrance pearl hotel for 1nt it was heaven really quiet and the room had a couch and bench for our laptop.
lovely hotel, excellent service”
We love this hotel very much. This hotel is located in little india, not too much expensive but staff's service is very very good. We enjoyed staying here. If we go back to Singapore we will stay in Perak hotel again and again.
Good value for money, surprisingly nice decor,”
from the moment i arrived I found the staff all to be extremely obliging. The hotel decor was very pleasant and lobbies etc were nicely decorated. It's located in an interesting area with unspoiled original buildings surrounding it. Thereare good restaurants bars etc very close by the hotel. Rooms are small but adequate considering what one pays
We returned to the Perak ”
Thanks to your friendly staff and the great location we had lovely stop over stay. This is the second time I've stayed at the Perak and I think it is good value for money. The street is a bit noisy at night but otherwise it's just fine. See you next time.
Do not sccept room with wooden ceiling ”
This time I stayed in room #104. A mistake bcos ceiling/ floor of upper room is made of wood. Very noisy. Can hear people walking, chair being dragged etc. Cannot sleep. If given a refund I will choose not to stay here.
Great Basic Hotel for the Budget Minded”
Good hotel for those who don't want to pay the high prices in the waterside tourist areas. Good area to meet with the locals but still have two metro stations within 100m to get to anywhere you want to go. Good shopping and eating places with walking distance.
