Exceptional”
The Hostel is very clean, the rooms have a lot of details for a cozy feeling and the location is just perfect. The only thing to complain about was, that we weren't allowed to leave our bags in the hostel after the check-out to do a hike on that day.

Nice concept but severe problems in terms of implementation!”
The hostel is located near ita thao pear which is a nice place to try local snacks on the food market and to start exploring - however, one should take into account that you can only reach this side of the lake until 5 pm by public transportation and taxis are really expensive! The accommodation itself was rather disappointing. I am used to staying in dorm rooms but this was definitely one of the least satisfying. The bathroom was really dirty, there was some mould and the showers were almost always occupied (there are only two for more than 20 people). Moreover, the Mattresses were so thin that you felt every bone and you have to put clean sheets on your bed by yourself. The staff doesn’t really make you feel welcome and was not able to provide any helpful tips. However, the common area was quite nice and stylish. All in all, this place might be ok for one or two nights but it’s definitely not worth the amount of money they demand.

Disgusting bathroom ”
The bathroom had not been cleaned in a while. It smelled like urin and was full with hair. Even after telling the ladies at the reception about the situation, the next day it was still not clean. Hostel also charges for using a small locker. With every opening of locker you have to pay again, as the locker keeps the money.

Warm and Homely place”
Highly recommended! The place was very cosy and had a very homely touch. Staff were extremely friendly and it was indeed a very good experience at perBed hostel ! Location wise, it is located in one of the 3piers serviced by the public boat which would cost 100 NTD for a single trip or 300NTW for a whole day pass. (i understand from some that you can bargain) The only downside is that bus and ferry services cease after about 530pm and it would start to get kind of quite... Overall, it was a good stay! Will return there if i head to Sun Moon Lake again.

Very nice and friendly”
It’s probably the only hostel in the Sun moon lake area and the only way to avoid super noisy tour groups. It’s on the other side of the lake, in a calmer village of Ita Thao. Do arrive before 5 pm or you’ll have to hitchhike around the lake. Me and my friend stayed in the dorm, which has about 20 beds. Even so, the room was spacious and comfy and didn’t feel cramped. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the overall vibe was pretty cool.

Excellent”
The people who were operating the hostel were young and very helpful. There is breakfast offered for a small fee but when we requested for it, they said it's finished, it wasn't that late, maybe around 9:30am, though might have been our fault, must have requested the night before for them to prepare the ingredients. The place is on the other side of the lake from where the city buses stop, so keep that in mind if you're getting at sun moon lake at night, the boats and busses going to that part of Lake stop operating around 5pm. We rented electric bikes to get there, which was really a fun ride.

Great location and cosy hostel”
Excellent one night stay, with very friendly host. Very cosy design with excellent bathroom facilities. Highly recommended for any solo or budget travellers looking to spend some time at sun moon lake. Very close to the cable car so location is pretty good.

Nice place for the cost”
I really liked the staff and location of Perbed as it was near one of the main two piers at SL lake. I chose the 23 person dorm because it was the only one available but would have preferred a smaller room with only females. The only thing I didn’t like was that it was very quiet at night and everyone seemed to go to sleep very early. Overall out of the limited selection in SL Lake it was a nice place and very clean.

Great place for backpackers”
I liked the location and the design of Perbed Hostel pretty much. Considered to what I had experienced before in Taiwan, breakfast was also excellent. What I did not like was that there were only one toilet and two showers for all guests. Also I would have appreciated if towels were provided. Please also note, that the round-the-lake bus is much cheaper for a one-way ride if you pay the driver directly instead of buying a day and/or ferry pass.

Perfect location if you preferred a more serene and quiet area as compared to the bustling water wharf. The hostel is clean and has a choice to stay in 2nd floor dorm (for solo traveler) or 3rd floor tent (for couple). Pictures submitted by the hostel is an accurate depiction of the current state of hostel. Do take note that you are to adhere to bus schedule if you are traveling by public transport, which are pretty frequent between 7am to 6pm.

Staff is great, very good dorm layout.”
I like the staff. We cooked together we took photos together went out for food. I love the big dorm room. The position and the layout of the beds are great a good design. One big room but everyone can get their own privacy. Bathrooms could be a bit cleaner but maybe I am just too fussy. I think I went in the wrong time or season. It was rainy and found the hostel a but empty of travelers. Other than that it's a good place

The place is not what I expected”
The staffs are good and they fix breakfast for you. But the place is kind of a let down for me. I thought I can see lake view or mountain view from here but that's not the case. This place is a very simple and humble hostel.

Fantastic place to stay!”
This hostel is great. They do absolutely everything right - quirky decor, great area to hang out and chat to other travellers, lots of information on renting bikes, taking buses, etc and great staff, even going to far as to send me something I left behind. Very much recommend staying here. It's easy to get the ferry here and Ita Thao is 100 times better than staying over at Shuishe.

Very good”
This was the only affordable hostel that was still available during the National Holiday weekend, and it looks really fun. However, don't expect to sleep much during the night (unless you're one of those bears that just hits the pillow and is gone), because despite the cute-looking tents, you're still sharing a room and a bathroom with a lot of other people, meaning that there might be noises during the night. The staff were very friendly and the kitchen looked really good.

It's a nice hostel well located, with friendly staff. It's pricey for a dorm but not expensive for the area. Most places are very expensive around. Breakfast was included: bread, eggs, butter, ham & fresh coffee.
