Rooms full of spider web, sofa is sandy, bedsheets found stains, smelly, washroom door torn n can't close. Very run down n unattended. One of us totally no peace to sleep and we checked out as early as 8am. Food not in time to refill. Never come back again.

            Satisfied, but weird sometimes”

Good stay, very nice pool and games for children, very nice walk into the rainforest. The manager is excellent, she found us nice tours. The rest of the crew is sometimes strange, for example they don't understand you would like to drink something during breakfast, like water or fruit juice. Although there a plenty of glasses, they don't know what to do with them. After a while, we got a bottle of water, they were so amazed we wanted to dring something... Food is good when buffet.

            Great time in treehouse ”

After reading negative reviews, we were worried. We should not have been. We got a jungle hut experience surrounded by wildlife. The food was good. The staff were great and very happy to help. If you are after 5 star accommodation, this is not it. If you are after comfortable time in jungle and easy walking distance to cultural village 30mins drive from Kuching then this is it. Highly recommend organised trips from Permai - and if possible night time walk around resort to see hidden wildlife - guides excellent

Well it was an impromptu trip to santubong. Staying here was amazing. 1 night is never enough. We stayed in Cabin 12, nearest to jungle pool and halfway to the 2nd beach. Our cabin is just nice for 6 of us. Room was spacious. No aircond, just fan but at night it was just cold - do bring your sweater. Recommended for group of friends who just want to have fun in nature.

            Beautiful nature retreat”

Beautiful scenery around the place, close to nature where the beach is clean, the jungle pool is so refreshing. Location wise, this place is near to the cultural village (attraction) and Damai Central where we can shop and eat. On the other hand, some of the facilities are not well maintain such as children playground and furniture in the room are old and mouldy. They provide only soap, no shampoo or other toiletries. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant are very basic, not much to choose from. We enjoyed our stay because of the serenity of the place. Hopefully when we return next time there are some improvement in term of the facility uplift.

Unique location at the foot of Mount Santubong, but...”

....very sorry to say: Management could do better. The staff at site does what they can in the framework set by the management. Fees aked for kayak etc are high, excursions are costly, breakfast is sub standard, set dinner provided is tasty but basic. In case of emergency at night - if you don`'t have a Malaysian sim card - you will face a problem. The management should communicate more clearly: Yes, there is no WiFi in the rooms. Yes, the WiFi in the public areas is not fast. Yes, the restaurant does not provide alcohol.

Only stay if you are prepared to ‘rough it’”

We arrived. Checked in. Eventually we were taken to our room - a treetops room overlooking the sea. A beautiful view. However as we walked up the wooden steps to the treetop room, they were very wobbly, some basic repairs had been made, but it all felt precarious. The room had lots of gaps in floorboards and walls. Having lived in Asia for 18 years, we knew we would be feasted upon by the mosquitos etc at night so decided to cut our losses and leave. The staff were very pleasant. With a little more care & investment this could be an amazing place!

            Nature Time”

We stayed in a tree house and loved it in spite of monsoon rains and storms. More needs to be done to maintain the buildings in terms of securing windows and mossie screens and making rooms more comfortablefor the money they charge. However to connect with nature it can't be beaten and the staff were lovely. We would come again.

            Treehouse was amazing”

We were so excited to stay in the treehouse, and this didn't disappoint! What an amazing setting. The beaches are sandy and swimmable, though the water was really murky when we were there. The pool is unique (though a bit treacherous with a 5 year old that likes to jump in). We loved this unique spot. Stayed 2 nights in a treehouse with our 5 and 7 year olds and they absolutely adored it. We saw silver leaf monkeys, macaques and a proboscis monkey on site. And there was a bonfire on saturday night. You have to walk to the convenience store at Damai center to get a beer--but it's only a 10 minute walk there. Sarawak Cultural Center was interesting and great for the kids. We also did the waterfall hike, but it's a 90 minute hike within the resort and looked to be a bit much for our kids. We did the trailhead within Mt Santubong National Park, right up the road, which gets you to the same waterfall. That is billed as 20 minutes, but still took us 45 minutes.

Pros: The stay was good, 15mins walking distance to Sarawak Cultural Village (RWMF). Not much choice for food but it was good. Helpful staff Cons: Room sliding door at the balcony need some maintenance, difficult to open.

It is "primitive jungle" but everything works fine”

Stayed in Chalet no 18, and it is nice and clean, sofa and table for coffee and card games after dark. A/C a bit too hot in right room, other room and hot water shower worked fine. Beaches are sandy with big rocks that are easily spotted. Jungle pool (natural with freshwater) is cool and refreshing. Breakfast is OK, it might be a good idea to also let people choose from menu (for a charge of course) Dinner - OK, was surprised that my very choosy grandchildren liked it. High Rope walk great and scary according to the children. Instructors fantastic. Wild life: We spotted monkeys (not the proboscis) a snake, a big lizard, squirrel, a huge spider in the cafe and lots of birds and insects. Staff speaks reasonably good English and is very friendly and service minded. A very nice stay. Advise: If you fancy a beer and a cigar after dark - bring it from Kuching.

We loved the sea, swimming in the ocean, the night river cruise to see crocodiles, fireflies and probiscus monkey. The staff were friendly and helpful. We ate good food, drank fresh coconuts and enjoyed relaxing break. We did the lovely jungle trek, swam in jungle pool, watched vipers on trees, saw monitor lizards up close. We did early morning beach yoga and runs and had a fun time playing about. The cabin was clean and basic... perfect for our family of five

Paths wind over bridges and along the forest at the edge of the sea....and lead to cabins which have verandah's overlooking the forest. The two beaches are nice, the waterfall pool is delightful and the resort is close enough to a couple of others to have a change of location for dinner. The forest paths are nicely challenging and last about 1.5 hours and there is more extensive climbing at Mt Santabong 15 mins walk away. We went in heavy rainy season but still enjoyed the resort a lot.

            Nice resort”

Located in the forest very close to the beach(es), friendly personel

Very nice resort, friendly people, clean, close to nature. We stayed in the 6 person cabin. /it was very clean, after 2 days we got new sheets and towels. The restaurant was good but limited in choice, the menu-items were often unavailable. The tours are very expensive. The trip to Bako costs 160rm pro person. We hired a taxi for the trip for 150rm for 4 persons for whole day.

            Back to the nature resort”

Helpful and friendly staff, great dishes from the Cafe (Yummy!)

The staff were really friendly and helpful. I booked the Resort on the eve of arrival. Unfortunately, upon check-in, the Resort didn't receive my reservations. However, as I have the digital copy which I showed to the staff, he allowed me to check-in accordingly. He was polite throughout the session. On another occasion, I chatted with the reception staff on alternative programmes, including dinner, that we could do. He was helpful and explained in detailed. Upon check-out, though we didn't book with the Resort for the transfer, he checked with the provider on their whereabouts. He even chatted with my dad while we waited for the transport. The cabin was fantastic. However, the bed sheets were obviously stained. Cleanliness was certainly lacking though. Thankfully, the towels were clean.
