          Excellent”

Well it was an impromptu trip to santubong. Staying here was amazing. 1 night is never enough. We stayed in Cabin 12, nearest to jungle pool and halfway to the 2nd beach. Our cabin is just nice for 6 of us. Room was spacious. No aircond, just fan but at night it was just cold - do bring your sweater. Recommended for group of friends who just want to have fun in nature.

          Great Ambience”

Pros: The resort has accesses to 2 beaches with great wide view and clean water. The Jungle Pool is clean and chilling. The cabin we stayed is surrounded by trees and there were nets at all windows to keep the insects away. The air is fresh and it is very clean along the way. You can hear insects sounds and see monkeys on trees. They offer service to send your luggage to and from your room to the reception counter. Would recommend this place for young adults and children. It is a bit difficult for my parents in their 60s to walk around because there are steep roads up and down. Cons: Need improvement on maintaining the cleanliness of the beds and bathrooms. The pillows have molds which we do not want to sleep on it. The bathroom walls have unknown stained. We do not feel secured as the door can be easily open even though we lock it with key. Dinner and Breakfast did not have many options.

The chalet was rundown. But it is acceptable as it is just a one night stay. Perhaps the tree house was better and cleaner.

          Beautiful nature retreat”

Beautiful scenery around the place, close to nature where the beach is clean, the jungle pool is so refreshing. Location wise, this place is near to the cultural village (attraction) and Damai Central where we can shop and eat. On the other hand, some of the facilities are not well maintain such as children playground and furniture in the room are old and mouldy. They provide only soap, no shampoo or other toiletries. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant are very basic, not much to choose from. We enjoyed our stay because of the serenity of the place. Hopefully when we return next time there are some improvement in term of the facility uplift.

....very sorry to say: Management could do better. The staff at site does what they can in the framework set by the management. Fees aked for kayak etc are high, excursions are costly, breakfast is sub standard, set dinner provided is tasty but basic. In case of emergency at night - if you don`'t have a Malaysian sim card - you will face a problem. The management should communicate more clearly: Yes, there is no WiFi in the rooms. Yes, the WiFi in the public areas is not fast. Yes, the restaurant does not provide alcohol.

Only stay if you are prepared to ‘rough it’”

We arrived. Checked in. Eventually we were taken to our room - a treetops room overlooking the sea. A beautiful view. However as we walked up the wooden steps to the treetop room, they were very wobbly, some basic repairs had been made, but it all felt precarious. The room had lots of gaps in floorboards and walls. Having lived in Asia for 18 years, we knew we would be feasted upon by the mosquitos etc at night so decided to cut our losses and leave. The staff were very pleasant. With a little more care & investment this could be an amazing place!

We stayed in a tree house and loved it in spite of monsoon rains and storms. More needs to be done to maintain the buildings in terms of securing windows and mossie screens and making rooms more comfortablefor the money they charge. The air were fresh here. They got two beautiful beach and a natural waterfall pool. It was cool to dip into the pool when the weather was hot, because the cold water will refresh us. At night, if to full after had the yummy dinner prepared by the cafeteria, can have a walk and listen to the frogs singing 🎶 in the woods. They are tree frog if you can saw them from the woods, but don't catch them.

          Treehouse was amazing”

We were so excited to stay in the treehouse, and this didn't disappoint! What an amazing setting. The beaches are sandy and swimmable, though the water was really murky when we were there. The pool is unique (though a bit treacherous with a 5 year old that likes to jump in). We loved this unique spot. Stayed 2 nights in a treehouse with our 5 and 7 year olds and they absolutely adored it. We saw silver leaf monkeys, macaques and a proboscis monkey on site. And there was a bonfire on saturday night. You have to walk to the convenience store at Damai center to get a beer--but it's only a 10 minute walk there. Sarawak Cultural Center was interesting and great for the kids. We also did the waterfall hike, but it's a 90 minute hike within the resort and looked to be a bit much for our kids. We did the trailhead within Mt Santubong National Park, right up the road, which gets you to the same waterfall. That is billed as 20 minutes, but still took us 45 minutes.

Great for accessibility and quiet. The limited number of rooms = less guests. Bring your own toiletries. Expect armies of mozzies so do take lotsa preventive measures! Love the 1.5hr backyard jungle trail. Suggestion: burn anti-mozzie incense around the Feeding Tree.

It is "primitive jungle" but everything works fine”

Stayed in Chalet no 18, and it is nice and clean, sofa and table for coffee and card games after dark. A/C a bit too hot in right room, other room and hot water shower worked fine. Beaches are sandy with big rocks that are easily spotted. Jungle pool (natural with freshwater) is cool and refreshing. Breakfast is OK, it might be a good idea to also let people choose from menu (for a charge of course) Dinner - OK, was surprised that my very choosy grandchildren liked it. High Rope walk great and scary according to the children. Instructors fantastic. Wild life: We spotted monkeys (not the proboscis) a snake, a big lizard, squirrel, a huge spider in the cafe and lots of birds and insects. Staff speaks reasonably good English and is very friendly and service minded. A very nice stay. Advise: If you fancy a beer and a cigar after dark - bring it from Kuching.

We ate good food, drank fresh coconuts and enjoyed relaxing break. We did the lovely jungle trek, swam in jungle pool, watched vipers on trees, saw monitor lizards up close. really eco-type ease”

Paths wind over bridges and along the forest at the edge of the sea....and lead to cabins which have verandah's overlooking the forest. The two beaches are nice, the waterfall pool is delightful and the resort is close enough to a couple of others to have a change of location for dinner. The forest paths are nicely challenging and last about 1.5 hours and there is more extensive climbing at Mt Santabong 15 mins walk away. We went in heavy rainy season but still enjoyed the resort a lot.

Great stay in the middle of the rainforest”

I had a treehouse for myself and it was such a great stay. Sure the wifi is weak and only available in the restaurant area a few minutes walk from the treehouse, sure the treehouse would benefit from refurbishment, but it all just added to the charm of the stay. It rained the whole weekend there and the rain was very loud on the roof of the treehouse and there wasn't much to do as the sea was very agitated so no sea activities were possible but I loved the stay, it was a real disconection from the routine, all you need is a great book and a peaceful mindset to enjoy the surroundings and charms of the Borneo rainforest!

          Nice resort”

Located in the forest very close to the beach(es), friendly personel

Very nice resort, friendly people, clean, close to nature. We stayed in the 6 person cabin. /it was very clean, after 2 days we got new sheets and towels. The restaurant was good but limited in choice, the menu-items were often unavailable. The tours are very expensive. The trip to Bako costs 160rm pro person. We hired a taxi for the trip for 150rm for 4 persons for whole day.
