Big and clean room, quiet and location”
Phan Long Hotel is located in a quiet alley. The room I got was big and clean and the bathroom has a bathtub! Most of the popular attractions are within walking distance. I will be back!

Great room, good location, friendly staff”
Really liked the room, superior double with large king size bed. The room wasn't meant to have a view but did have window into large ventilation area which was good, gave depth and air to the room (also has AC) but meant it wasn't noisy with nearby traffic etc. The location was good, a short walk to all the city centre tourist sites, cafes and restaurants, Ben Thanh Market (good place to have lunch), the backpacker area if you're so inclined. The owner is friendly and sure would help you arrange, look for things (I didn't need anything). There's no food available at hotel which some ppl might want and there's not loads of places to eat right next to hotel but you can get coffee at numerous nearby cafes and snacks off the nearby streets or shops for breakfast etc. Quite a quiet hotel, not necessarily great for meeting people if you are a solo traveler as not really a common area where people would be but overall I really liked staying here and would definitely stay here again.

Location, price and staff”
The hotel is located in a quiet alley off the main road. It is merely a 8 to 10 minutes' walk to Ben Thanh Market and Pham Ngu Lao. For the price, we got a spacious room and the bathroom has a bathub, which is a bonus to us. The staff is friendly and helpful.

you get what you pay for”
I usually have problem with noise from the streets. This hotel is in little alley, so noise was not problem at all, nor sounds from inside the hotel. The reception guys are very friendly and helpful, always smiling. I booked for a good price around 14$/night and for that price, it was best option. TV is good with selection of few english channels, so i could watch movies when needed to rest. Location is perfect. The room had no window, most travellers dont like that, but i am usually looking for it as i dont like noise. I would come back again.

Staff and Location Perfect! ”
I loved the quiet side street that was super close and within walking distance of all the major sites. The staff were super lovely! They will book tickets for shows, etc... for you and get your tickets. The room was pretty typical for this part of the world. A little water damaged and smell of smoke, but for the price fantastic. Just be sure to get a receipt. We paid in cash on arrival and were not given a receipt. Later we were told by another staff we needed to pay even though we already did pay. It was just a mix up and he was able to clarify and it was okay. It was not done intentionally, just not communicated when the shift was handed over. Everything worked out fine in the end.

An unexpected haven”
It was really an unexpected venture when I found this hotel. I didn't expect that in an affordable price I can find a good and comfortable place like this. Though not as close to Ben Thanh Market (approx. 700 metres walk) but still you can enjoy your way to the market coz you can see a lot of restaurant which offers good food. The things that I appreciated most is the hospitality of the staff and their warm welcome to every guest. Kudos to the staff;) Thank you very much.

Nice new hotel with great staff.”
this is one of several new hotels across the river from the hustle and bustle of the town. only a 10 minute walk or a 2 minute 2 dollar tuk tuk ride away. good breakfast, rooms are nice and new, they upgraded me to a bigger room. staff is great. normally charge by the piece for doing laundry. i told them i wanted to do it by the kilo and asked for a recommendation as it is much cheaper and they agreed to do it by weight. no swimming pool which i would have liked to have after a day in the hot sun.

Cozy, clean and lots of natural light”
The room was large with a nice balcony and big windows. We had stayed in two other hotels in HCMC previously with no window at all, so this was a nice change. The family that runs the guest house does not really speak any English, but they are very friendly and kind. The room and bathroom were spotless and the shower was great. The guest house is centrally located but down a quiet side street.

Affordable, nice location ”
Located in a small alley, it's peaceful amidst the busy street outside. Near nice restaurants and 24h mini mart. I was not able to book our 2nd night but I was able to stay on the same room although at first we were told we had to move to a different room. Our breakfast was served almost at 10am. I'd recommend to just eat outside the hotel. The small bed was noisy though, wasn't able to tell the staff but it was manageable. Overall it was a great stay, I'd go back here again.

Good Value and central location”
Basic no frills accomodation. Big room, big comfortable bed, cold air cond, strong water pressure, warm showers, fridge, cupboard, desk & chair, sofa chairs, LCD TV with 3 English movie channels & lots of local channels. Free wifi strong and adequate for our use. Very central location in a small quiet alley just off the roundabout near Saigon world hotel. 24 hours mini mart at entrance to alley and convenience store across the road. Plenty of food options nearby. 10-15 mins walk to Ben Thanh market, many downtown tourist sites and backpackers area. From airport, use local bus No 152 or airport bus No 109, stop at Ben Thanh bus station and walk to this hotel. Alternatively use shuttle bus No 49 (40k dong) and they will drop you off at your hotel.

Nice hotel room with friendly receptionist”
The beds were comfortable, nice room and clean shower. But it's quite dusty on the floor in the bedroom. It was hard to find the hotel at first because it's inside an alley, but it's nice and quiet at night. Quite a walk to Ben Thanh market but not so bad. We arrived almost midnight but the receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

Would never come back”
The owner must be the cheapest person in Saigon. Not only the lights and A/C were almost always off in the lobby, the receptionist would go into our room to also turn off the light in there after we had left. I always like to leave a light or the TV, to discourage unwanted visitors, but in this cheap place it seems to have created the opposite effect. To top if off, the receptionist smoke all day long in front of his computer while playing videogames, and the smoke would go into our room. Impossible to communicate with the guy, since he didn't speak ONE word of English. Really? You hire a receptionist for your hotel who doesn't speak any English at all?? What kind of tourist are they expecting? So no directions, tips or anything that can make your stay easier. Plus, I left my retainers in my room after we checked out and they didn't have the courtesy to mail them to my hotel in Hanoi. Really sucky place.

Spacious. Good room”
Overall OK. Located in an alley, hence quite far from the city noises. Wi Fi is superb. Lotsa TV channels to choose from, though most of them are in local language. Room is spacious and good looking. Fridge was under repair, hence I cannot stock up my drinks and cut fruits that I bought when staying there. No housekeeping provided though I stayed there for 3 nights. FO team has basic English but still conversational-able...hehe. Hotel is just a walking distance to a 24-hour mart, a convenient store, lots of fast food and eating places, couples of coffee outlets, shops and many more. Just walk! :)

The Breakfast that Wasn't”
We booked a special deal on line for a double room with breakfast included, only to turn up and be told by the manager that because of the special deal the breakfast was now not included. When we pointed out that it shouldn't have been advertised as having something that wasn't in fact included, he just started talking over the top of us and wouldn't relent. As we had already paid on line we had no option but to stay. We cannot understand how this hotel rates as bigh as it does, as it was quite dirty, and there were several things missing, broken or not working in our room. Even the lift refused to operate on our floor.

Dark mouldy room but friendly owner and good location”
We hard a dark and mouldy smelling room in the ground floor without windows, which felt very claustrophobic at times. However, the owner was friendly and helpful and the place quite clean, so we would still recommend them.
