The room was really spacious and clean and modern! We have been travelling Asia for 2 months now and the bathroom was one of the best we’ve had! Can’t fault the room at all! The only problem we had was the Wi-fi was pretty intermittent and even when it was connected it was very slow. This may have been because we were on the top floor though. We also arrived on the night bus from Vientiane at 7am and they let us check in early which was really good of them! Would recommend staying here!
Cozy clean hotel in Pakse”
Located in the center of Pakse, the rooms are clean and comfortable. I spent total of 3 nights here and was thoroughly satisfied. The food's not bad too. At night, the staff allows motorbikes to park inside the hotel lobby instead of outdoors, which is a nice touch.
A nice hotel, though overpriced”
This hotel is clean, bright and modern. The room I stayed in was nice, with a big balcony. Their coffee is fairly good and they serve large breakfasts at their restaurant. You can buy tickets to pretty much anywhere in Laos just next door. Having that said, the price is just a bit too high. There's good hotels nearby which actually charge less.
No regrets staying here”
Once enter the hotel, my group and I were greeted by the reception who speaks Thai and the rooms were ready though we arrive before the check in time. Although the building doesn't have elevator (we stay on the 2nd and 3rd floor, so it is still alright), the stairs are wide and not too steep. The rooms are equipped with air-con, fridge, even toothbrush and paste. The cleanliness is good enough for me and my group. I particularly like the furnishing which goes in contrast with the original retro windows. My group doesn't try the restaurant downstairs (it is about 20% more than standard) but choose to walk about 200 meters to nearby restaurants (there is a noodle shop a few steps away but it is beef noodle but some of us can't take beef, so ...) Overall, the place is worth paying a little more (but still very cheap) than nearby guesthouses which look rather old or "rental room"-looking place.
Nice, central hotel ”
This hotel was actually pretty good. We stayed here for a night on our way to Cambodia and after using some really crappy bathrooms along the way, it was nice to stay in a place that had a nice shower and spacious room. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Breakfast was not included though it was made clear that it was included when we checked in. Aside from that, it was a nice place to stay
Value buy hotel that provides clean, good size room with helpful receptionist. We are deeply grateful to the receptionist who was willing to do much translation with a local van driver who did not speak English!
Very good location, near to everything”
It's near to everything I want, such as, car rental, motorbike rental, Inter bus to Ubon (just next door to Lankham hotel). Very worth of this price. Room is clean enough, fast wifi. Will consider this hotel again if I return here.
Excellent value for money”
My stay was just the ticket. The hotel is small but nice and the staff are helpful. I have just returned back to this hotel from a few days away in Vientiane and to be honest it was nice to come back. The food is good, in fact you will see many locals eating here, which is fun to observe
We loved this hotel. Great staff. Loved the front streetside eating area, cheap beer and pretty darn good food. The downside - the rooms can be awfully noisy. If you want to sleep ask for an inside room (rear room). You've been warned!
Centrally located and it has a good restaurant”
The rooms are reasonable for the price. Clean and comfortable. The noise from the road at night isn't so good but at US 18 per night, it's to be expected. The staff are helpful and secured my rented motorbike in the hotel when it closed at 11 PM.
Good location on main street close to temple and restaurants. We requested a room at the back where we couldn't hear any traffic noise. Rooms were comfortable enough and we had a pleasant stay. The restaurant at the hotel was slow and they got our orders wrong.
Very nice place, and spotlessly clean. The room smelled flesh when we walked in. Staff were pleasant and helpful. My only minor criticism would be that when we left, we had an earlyish start (8 am departure) so we left ourselves time to have a coffee (they have a very good café restaurant) and then shower and prepare to leave. However, they took 20 - 25 minutes to bring the coffee, which eat into the time we'd set aside for a relaxing departure and turned it into a bit of a scramble. Also worth noting is that there is no lift, so if you have mobility problems it may not be the best choice. I would definitely stay there again.
Big room and comfortable ”
We booked for 2 nights but could stay only one night because of the mistake of staff. We were sent to stay in another hotel nearby. Phi Dao hotel is one of a nice hotel room is big and comfortable. There is a restaurant on the ground floor. Overall was good for this hotel.
Great location, good rooms”
- Good location [a very good motorbike rental / travel agency next door - directly to the left when standing in front of the hotel; also, quite good food in the hotel itself - but especially next door (e.g. an Indian restaurant which I liked a lot]. - The rooms are spacious (the single rooms not sooo much - and they are almost the same price as double rooms, IIRC) and very clean. Very good on that front. - Very helpful staff (most of them seem quite strict and not very warm/welcoming at first - but they gladly help you with everything you need - even special requests).
Sadly surprised ”
Stayed many times before, this time bed broken, cockroach in room, not clean sheets very disappointed. Staff still lovely as position. Feel more suited to Chinese and Malay guests. Will look at other places in future.
Pleasant, nice drink selection, opposite minimart”
We didn't rate Pakse itself as was sooo quiet as all activities you had to drive out of town for which we didn't have time to do, but this hotel would be a good base. Clean and tidy, restaurant (staff really struggle with English, communication was hard) with plenty to choose from. Good value but we only stayed one night.
as everywhere in Laos: they don't change sheets”
Same like all over Laos. They don't change the sheets from guest to guest if the sheet looks clean.they defiantly do not change the cover sheet from a guest to guest. But when I asked for clean sheets they gave me .no problems. The hotel is clean and the room is no deny designed.it us a very good budget hotel.maybe the best.
great and friendly service”
we enjoyed our stay there. their staff are very friendly and helpful. as i had fever i wanted to go to the hospital, two guys from the staff brought us there with their own motorbikes and translated during the visit at the int. hospital! the hotel is very clean. the honey tea and the ham baguette were delicious. this is NOT a typical Lao hotel where the staff are sleeping and do not care about any customers. great place to stay!
Good choice for Pakse”
I was only in Pakse for the night transiting through, but Phi Dao Hotel was a good choice. Its not the cheapest place in town, but it was clean, safe, and comfortable. Upon check in the staff didn't seem so friendly, but I think they're actually just a bit on the shy side. They warmed up soon after, but I didn't really need them for anything other than getting my key upon check in. The room and bathroom is very clean and tidy, with good AC, fridge, tv, and I had a good wifi signal in my room (I was in the first room on the staircase, which was a little weird but fine). I was very comfortable during my stay. I also stayed at Alisa Guesthouse when passing through the second time, and they were good too (with a worse wifi singnal tho and a couple dollars cheaper). The location at Phi Dao is very easy for everyone to find, and its on one of the main corners of Pakse town so its central. There's a large minimart right across the street, but also a really really friendly shop directly across the road!
Satisfactory (some problems with room)”
Although it's generally satisfactory, I would not recommend staying in a room at the top of the stairways. These rooms not only get a lot of noise from people using the stairs, opening the door can potentially strike someone who is using the stairs. Also, a nearby crowing rooster has no idea of the correct time!
Free Wi-Fi in all rooms!
