We attended a New Years Eve buffet dinner which was hosted by the hotel, and everything was meticulously planned.

I think the best part of the experience (besides the location and view), are the professional staff.

This luxury hotel, the first of its kind on Phi Phi island, sprawls across acres of unspoiled land facing two stunning beaches. The low-rise Phi Phi Island Cabana Hotel prides itself as one of the pioneering luxury “green” accommodations, helping to preserve the still unspoiled beauty of the island. The elegantly appointed rooms and suites face the exquisite Ton Sai and Loh Dalum Bays and overlook the stunning infinity pools which seamlessly merge with the Andaman Sea. The hotel’s rooftop restaurant offers the freshest catch of the day, cooked exactly to your liking, as well as other tempting Thai and western dishes. When looking for ways to spend time, there are several recreational facilities to enjoy, such as a coffee shop, and poolside bar. Phi Phi Island Cabana Hotel is a perfect venue for all travelers, ensuring a great and memorable trip.
"Overall this hotel was perfect for the 9 of us."

phi phi cabana hotel”
This is the best place to stay on the main isthmus of the island. You are close enough to town to access everything (4 min walk to 7-11 store, 10min to backpacker, restaurant area). Oddly we had no pillow cases when we arrived but this wasd quickly corrected. We had no other house keeping issues. A/C and hot water were good. We wre on the 3rd floor and our room appeared recetnly remodeled (new looking carpet). Most room service items are under 200baht. We purchased buckets of ice from room service many times (80baht) and it was always delivered in less than 3 minutes. The pool butts up to the ocean and makes for a fantastic view from your balcony over the enourmouse pool onto lohdalum bay. Long tail boats are for hire just in front of the hotel on Ton Sai bay (3000 baht or less for the entire day private tour). I recomment one day for Phi Phi Lek and one day for Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi reef snorkeling, and Mosquito Island. There are nicer hotels on the other side of phi phi don but you will have to take water taxis to do anything day or night...this can get old fast. Hint..stock up on beer, water and diet coke at the 7-11 to avoid mini-bar charges. I moved their cans to the counter and they never complained about it. Also remember that hotels on Phi Phi are overpriced and of lesser quality in general. Keep this in mind when comparing Cabana's price to others. You do get what you pay for from what I saw on the Island.
Best position on the Island”
We were very impressed with Cabana hotel - especially after we were weary after hearing some negative comments from guest reviews. For us we thought the hotel and room offered everything one would need - comfortable bed, clean rooms, aircon to escape the sweltering temperatures and a beautiful view from our balcony of the bay. We spent 90% of our time outside exploring the island and surrounding islands, and only returned to our room to sleep and shower and for us it was perfect and definitely worth the money for peak season. What we enjoyed also was the location - close enough to restaurants and the market but far enough to escape the pounding music and flashing lights from the parties that take place at the main beach area every night. Yes the hotel could probably do with a "freshening up and revamp" if it wanted to increase its star rating but i believe it is fairly rated at present and offers its guest a rewarding stay for what you pay for. I think also in terms of Phi Phi accomodation this is the very best on offer if you want to be in the real centre of things and not at the tip of the island where the luxury hotels are located but which require you to take a long tail boat each day just to reach the centre of town. From Phi Phi Cabana everything is just a few metres walk away and for us this was the best aspect of the hotel. When we return to Phi Phi this will most definitely be our hotel of choice.
Fantastic Location and Pool Area”
Loved Hotel Cabana. Best location on Phi Phi Island between Tonsai bay and Ao lang Bay. The pool is great too and the perfect temperature. Although it is only open until 7pm at night. Our room 2302 had a beautiful view over Ao Lang Bay and the pool too on the 3rd floor. We were worried about the tsunami risk on Phi Phi so we asked for a high floor, but the Cabana Hotel was the only building still standing after the 2004 tsunami, so we felt safe. Breakfast until 10am was great on the porch overlooking the other bay. The chef can cook fresh omletes for you. I have been to Phi Phi before and stayed elsewhere and Cabana is definitely the best in the central area. It is down the quieter end of the beach, so away from the drunk party people. You can hear the music until 2.30am, but if you put ear plugs in it is fine. Phi Phi island is known for its parties, so that is what you should expect when you visit phi phi. The water is crystal clear outside the hotel and so lovely at high tide. Our room was cleaned everyday and the room was in a nice traditional thai style. Definitely recommend staying here.
Great location, awesome views”
We had our best holiday ever at Phi Phi Cabana Hotel. If you are looking for a resort holiday but would still like to get out and about then this is the hotel for you. The facilities are great, lovely big pool, delicious HUGE breakfast, spacious rooms, friendly staff (to the negative reviews: you get what you give, if you are rude to people, don't expect them to be friendly in return). OK the bathrooms weren't 5 star luxury, but they were clean and functional and if you want to go on holiday to sit in your bathroom, then knock yourself out and go elsewhere! The views from our bedroom were spectacular, postcard perfect actually, you couldn't ask for more. The location I would say is the best in Ton Sai Bay, just out of the main hustle and bustle of the town, but a 2 minute walk from the Pier and the town, which is bustling with restaurants, dive operators, Thai massages and great shopping. Phi Phi is great as there are no cars, only bicycles and walking and the odd scooter, so it's safe with the family and everything is accessible. If you want to have a party, there are great bars and the beach becomes a massive party on all nights except Friday night. We could hear the music at night from our balcony, but not actually when we were inside our hotel room. To be honest, we had some great balcony parties(as we have small children so couldn't go out too late) and enjoyed the music actually! We would definitely go back to Phi Phi Cabana
In all a great hotel.”
Before staying at Phi Phi Island Cabana Hotel, I'd read quite a few bad reviews. In all we had a fabulous time staying at this hotel. We stayed in May 2013. Our room was about a10m from the ocean, we had magnificent views of the ocean and bay area. Only a short walk to the fantastic pool. Breakfast wasn't amazing, but it wasn't terrible either. It was just average,. If it didnt have an egg station it wouldn't have been as good. There was no variety, same food each day. Location is great, very close to all the action on Phi Phi - shops/restaurants etc and also very close to the pier without being "too" close. The only bad part was at night we could hear the music from the beach parties, even with ear plugs in you could hear the faint beat until 3.30 in the morning. It effected our sleep for 2 of the nights, the other 2 we went and had a few drinks which made sleeping no problem at all =) Our room jutted out a bit compared to others that were behind ours and further away from the noise, so our room probably copped the full noise more so than others. We are young and easy going, yes it effected out sleep but we found the room and view so amazing and everything on phi phi to be so great that all the good stuff well and truly over wrote that 1 bad part. I'd definitly stay at Phi Phi Island Cabana again.
It's the best hotel on the island”
It's the best hotel on the island. You can believe me. We have been visiting Phi Phi for over several years and we always stay at the Cabana Hotel (family trips with children). Not for two but for 10 – 14 days . What's so cool you will find in this hotel? The unique atmosphere of the island, this history from before the tsunami (during the reconstruction after the destruction, an important event for fans of the Phi Phi island from around the world was the launch of a swimming pool fountain). Fantastic staff. Nice smiling and always helpful. People here work really hard. The rooms are cleaned perfectly. The pool service is excellent. The ladies in the hotel restaurant are exceptionally nice and professional. The hotel is not the newest, it is located on a small island on the sea so do not demand impossible things. If you want, you can always choose a hotel in Phuket, Pattaya or Ko Samui . Who likes. We like Phi Phi and Cabana Hotel. Special greetings to Nina. :)
Overall a great hotel”
I spend a lot of time deciding where I should stay during my visit to Phi Phi Don. I was made nervous by negative (sometimes scathing) reviews about nearly every hotel on the island. My stay at the Cabana couldn't have been more pleasant. I was so pleased with my stay there that I booked an extra night. When I checked in to the Cabana I was immediately a little concerned when I was told that if I where to lose a key card the replacement fee was 500 baht (about $18 USD), that is until I realized that the key cards are RFID cards and not the usual cheep magmatic stripe variety. The room it self was actually quite nice and attractive. Again I was concerned when I was asked to sign for the room and the paper work included a statement saying that the hotel was not responsible for any theft from my room. Use of the in room safe however was free. So I was careful to put all of my valuables in there had absolutely no problems. The hotel staff I found to be quite helpful. If I had a question they tried their best to help me out. After I had cut my foot on a rock while wading around in the bay during low tide they where very helpful with providing me first aid supplies and band aids whenever I requested it. Breakfast was also quite good. I read about complains of a limited selection but I didn't find the selection very limited at all. There were at least 5 breakfast items there every morning, a big selection of breads and fruit, an omelet station, and the usual cold cereal, milk, coffee and juices. Not extravagant but enough to keep me fully satisfied. The pool and and surrounding area are very nice and an enjoyable place to relax. In summary: I must give the cabana high marks. The hotel is very clean and neat, the staff treated me well. The climate, and location on a small tropical island obviously present the hotel with difficult challenges, which make comparisons to hotels in big cities somewhat unrealistic.
the best hotel in phi phi island”
this our second visit in phi phi island. as the first time, we chose the cabana hotel, and it was proven to be our best decision in our trip. the hotel answer all our wishes: lovely hotel, nice rooms, the service is great, the breakfast is very reach. the hotel located (for our opinion)on the best place in the island: near the pier, on tonsai bay (the view is amazing), short walk from all the lovely shops and restaurants on the island. when you think on a "dreamy vacation" - think on the cabana hotel!!!" p.s. it was the first time we made reservation through Agoda website - and we want to mention that the service is great and kind. we know that in our next trip to Thailand - we will make reservation through Agoda:)
Cabana is really good”
The Cabana Hotel on Phi Phi was (as far as I saw) the best hotel to stay in if in the Phi Phi town area. The staff are friendly and helpful if you need anything but otherwise they jst leave you to yourself. The room was a combination of thai and modern furnishings and was clean and of reasonable size. There is no elevator (in our building anyway) so maybe not the best for older people or those with disability. Our room had a great view of the pictre perfect bay. The pool was big and had awesome loungers to relax on. Breakfast was delicious and there was a wide variety of food to choose from. Probably the best part of the hotel is that it is in town but has its own area therefore is relaxing and peaceful. All in all we were very happy with the Cabana.
Best Pool in Phi Phi”
The best thing about this hotel is its pool. Imagine sitting beside a large pool on your sunbed overlooking the beach and turquoise water of Phi Phi Island and you have the Cabana Hotel. The room itself is a fairly average hotel room, but it has a great view over the sea. Also has a balcony which is nice for relaxing. There was the usual selection for breakfast, a little larger than most (its a bit hard to find the breakfast room the first time - follow the signs). Its nice and close to the main town on Phi Phi island so its easy to get to restaurants, organise tours etc, but its far enough away that it doesn't get any of the noise from the town.
Beautiful”
Short answer - stay here! It's great! If you're worried about some of the negative reviews about this place, DON'T BE! We had an absolutely amazing stay here, and if I'm ever fortunate enough to return to Phi Phi, I will absolutely stay here! First, the location is great. I didn't quite realize until we ventured out one night to have dinner in another area of town - some of the hotels are very far away from the ferry pier and are in areas of the island that are under substantial construction as Phi Phi continues to recover from the tsunami. Island Cabana is less than a 5 minute walk from the pier, and a bellman meets you at the ferry to carry your bags. The hotel is centrally located - again, less than a 5 minute walk to the "backpackers village" where all of the shops, restaurants and nightlife are located, but at the same time, it is slightly set off so that it is very quiet and secluded. No issues with noise when we stayed. I booked the standard room, some of which are sea view, and emailed several days ahead to see if I could get one of the sea view rooms on a high floor. The staff replied to my email within an hour, and though they made no promises, I was given exactly the room I requested, and the view was absolutely amazing! I cannot describe waking up to the view from Ko Phi Phi through enormous windows each morning. The room itself was not the most luxurious I've stayed in for this price, but here, you're paying for the location and the view. And the room itself was certainly adequate - clean, comfortable bed, etc. I also sense that many options on Phi Phi are pretty dingy, so I felt that for this island, we got a good value. I really can't imagine what anyone would complain about with this resort with the stunning views and location we had. One tip - I requested the third floor because I assumed it would have a better view, but there is actually a roof that overhangs blocking a bit of the view from the balcony.
Great value/great pool”
The path to the hotel was being renovated and there seems to be a new hotel being built next to it so I was a little anxious walking up to it from the pier, however I was overall impressed by the hotel. Lobby area is nice and we were greeted with a drink and shown to our rooms promptly. Rooms were a little dated but nice for what we booked (£28 pp pn) and far nicer than most other places on the island. The best thing about the hotel is definitely the pool/view/location. Right on the beach, the pool overlooks the amazing views of Koh Phi Phi and on a nice day you can spend many an hour laying on the plentiful sun loungers. At night if you want to sample the Phi Phi party life on the beach, it's close enough to walk to easily and just far enough away to drown out the music until the early hours. Staff were good as well, the guy by the pool seemed to do food, drinks, laundry and booked a half day snorkelling for us. Good hotel but made better by Phi Phi itself.
So pretty and amazing location!”
This beautiful resort is just a 3 minute walk from the main pier. No need to hire help to carry your luggage! It's right on the beach and reaches to both sides of the island -- on one side there is a beachside restaurant and the other side, you can get out of the pool and be on the beach in like 10 seconds. The view is breathtaking and also they will serve you drinks in the pool! From our balcony we could hear the loud club music at Tonsai beach (that's an awesome party, you have to go) until about 2am but with the patio door closed we really didn't notice it and slept very well. The guest relations person Nina was extremely friendly and helpful and spoke awesome English. We missed her when we left! The breakfast was very good, try the pineapple jam on the croissants! Finally, I think the room was very cozy, some people might complain it's not 100% modern and clean but it's one of the oldest hotels on Phi Phi and I think it adds to the charm (mostly the bathrooms need updating but I had no problem with it and everything works great). I will definitely be back here next time I visit Phi Phi!
the best hotel in phi phi”
this is perhaps the best hotel in phi phi don island. the view from my room (room 2106) was perhaps one of the best available and i am thankful the room was given to me. it had a view of ton sai bay and an island further out. it was just nice sitting on the terrace and looking at the view. the location was nice as well as it is not in the center where all the noise happens but still quite close when you want to go to the party area. it is also very close to the pier... only a couple of minutes walk. the food in their restaurants are good. did not mind eating in all the time.
Phi Phi cabana resort”
The phi phi cabana resort is the closest resort from the pier when you first arrive. It is close to some great cheap restaurants, and great shops. The pool is amazing and the veiw from the pool across the bay is awesome. There is plenty to do with kyaks nearby on the beach, beach massage next door as well as being close to some really fun night spots. The rooms are beautifully presented, fantastic air conditioning. The staff at phi phi cabana were extremely friendly and went out of there way to accomodate you, as were the girls who made up your room, sometimes with awesome towell animals!!
Peace in Phi Phi mayhem”
Phi Phi island still has some charm but with drinks that can be purchased by the bucket, well you know the rest. I also have great concern of the seeming latest craze of kittens playing in front of shops to attract attention. As cute as they are, I didn't see many old cats, so I can't help but feel alarmed of what might be happening. Phi Phi island is still beautiful but it's harder to find that beauty within the overdevelopment of the main village. Cabana hotel is very nice and I enjoyed my stay there. It's very close to the pier but still has some a sense of sanctuary. On my second night though I still could hear the drunken door slamming and lovers tiffs at 3:00 in the morning when the bars close, but I had my sanctuary.
Phi Phi Cabana Hotel”
We had a great stay at the Phi Phi Cabana Hotel. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Our room was very nice -- good size, comfortable, clean. We were very pleased with the food at the hotel. We ate all our meals at the hotel, and we found the food to be very good and very reasonably priced. We don't drink alcohol, but our food and soda pop and pool drinks for two of us for 3 days (breakfast is included in the price of the room). The beach and the pool were both great and easily accessible. We walked a short distance to the shops in the village. People there were also very polite and welcoming, and the prices of things were inexpensive. We would definitely recommend the hotel. It's a great value.
Best Hotel on Phi Phi Island by far (that we saw)”
we had a fantastic time at Phi Phi Cabana - the location to Ton Sai Village, was perfect, the room service was excellent, the Cabana restaurant and pool side service was also excellent. Phi Phi Island was the pick of our trip in Thailand - we would definately return and stay at Phi Phi Cabana again!
Best of 3 Hotels I have stayed in on the Island”
i have stayed at the palm tree, phi phi hotel and this time at the cabana. there is no comparison with the other hotels. this hotel is spacious and well laid out whereas other hotels are cramped by comparison. the rooms are in good condition and cleaned very well every morning. our room had a view of the pool and loh dalum bay and it seems most of the rooms in building 1 have similar views. the pool was very large, relaxing and clean. the hotels location is close to all shopping, restaurants and lanes on phi phi island. all hotel staff were friendly and helpful. i will return to the island again and the phi phi island cabana hotel will be the hotel of choice.
Phi Phi Cabana”
Phi Phi Cabana!! Paradise in Thailand!! one of the Best Hotels in Phi Phi if not the best! this is by far the best hotel i stayed in while traveling in Thailand! The hotel facillities are second to none! and the beach and bars in the town are amazing! just a short 5 minute walk from all of the action you wont be bored at the Phi Phi Cabana! but at the same time is far enough away from the action to relax and sleep in the sun! you wont be disapointed when you visit Phi Phi Cabana!
