Stunning views, beautiful rooms”

The views, the rooms, the location

these rooms are located on long beach, phi phi don. they are perfect if you are looking for a romantic hotel in paradise. the main town of phi phi can be noisy and busy, which is fantastic for a night out or a good meal or a bit of shopping. if you want to go home to somewhere a bit quieter, then long beach is where you want to be. it takes about 10-15 minutes on a long boat between long beach and phi phi town, which is not long at all when the views are so stunning. it costs about baht which is and the long boats run all through the night. the hotel itself is stunning. the rooms are absolutely gorgeous and so private. the balcony is screened to the one side so that your neighbours cannot see you, leaving you in total seclusion. we opted for one of the higher rooms in order to have a bit more peace and quiet and although the walk up the hill is strenuous, this isn't a problem if you are fit. there is mention in other reviews about building works, which are still taking places. the builders seemed to work sociable hours and we were not disturbed by them at all. although you should note that we did choose a room higher up the hill in order to be further away from the works and i am a heavy sleeper! the beach is here is incredible, the fish that can be seen in the reef are breathtaking. you can hire a snorkel from the hotel for a day very cheaply. the hotel has a bar and restaurant which are pretty standard, the food is average and an average price. you can get a mix of thai or western food. one thing that should be noted is that there is no atm on long beach! you will need to make sure you have money for a long boat so that you can use the atm in phi phi town.

7 days in paradise”

New clean hotel with spacious bungalows (best to take deluxe). Friendly and helpful staff. Great location not far from town (it's important on Phi Phi!!) Breathtaking view to Phi phi Le island, good snorkeling. Late night bar with fire show.

We decided on this hotel after 2 days of reading plenty of bad and good reviews all over the internet. Now after our trip we cannot understand people who wrote bad reviews! We booked standard bungalow at the beginning and upgraded for deluxe on arrival. Standard room is nice but must admit deluxe is much better for minor difference in money. All deluxe rooms are up hill which gives better view to Phi Phi Le. Night bar is open until 2 pm and the music was loud. But to be honest "the sound of jungle" was not much quieter... we managed to be asleep at 12 pm before our heads touched pillows. Food was nice, lots of fruits and national cuisine dishes. But if you expect to find half a kilometer of tables with food a la Radisson you better stay somewhere else). Location is super. Very close to Tonsai town (where two bays meet together). Because every trip around island you have to make by boat it's very important to live next to town where all tour shops, bazaar, cheap food and entertainment. For example, long boat round trip from The Beach Resort hotel is 200 baht per person, from Holiday Inn - min. 1400 baht!!! You can take a boat to go to Maya Beach at Phi Phi Le for 1,200 baht from the hotel... but we personally preferred Monkey Beach with super fine sand and cheeky monkeys (best to take kayak boat from Tonsai Beach.. and plenty of fruits. Keep your mango fruits locked if you want to eat them yourselves!!!). You can swim with black coral sharks 150 m from the hotel beach without paying for the tour! Best snorkel before 9 am! Enjoy!

Gorgeous views, a perfect beach stay”

The setting and the comfort

We booked 5 days at Phi Phi The Beach and extended our stay for another 2 days. Given the long haul to reach Phi Phi from Phuket I recommend a week there. The accommodations are well placed individual teak bungalows set up a hillside overlooking the Andaman Sea. We stayed in a “Deluxe Seaview”. These are the larger bungalows that have sweeping views and offer plenty of space for the extra bed we needed. They are outfitted with all the amenities: king size comfortable bed, nice white linens, good AC, large bathroom, a fantastic protected and private huge open air shower, refrigerator, safe, in-room coffee/tea, clean towels daily, nice toiletries. It is very quiet and not a party scene. The guests are of all ages, mostly couples and families. The small beach in front of the hotel is clean and chairs and umbrellas are provided. The water is gorgeous and warm. The restaurant area is by the beach with sturdy tables and chairs in the sand. The breakfast, which is included, is generous and varied. Lots of fresh fruit, salad, fresh baked breads, yogurt, eggs to order, meats, and Asian hot foods as well. The hotel restaurant is open for lunch and dinner but the other meals were only average and we often ended up eating dinner at Paradise Pearl, a short walk down the beach. Also it is worth going into Ton Sai Bay at least once for dinner at a lovely French restaurant called Le Grande Bleu. You can walk the 2 kms into town along a beach/woodland path before sunset and take a long tail boat back. We often went into Ton Sai for lunch and the exercise of the walk both ways. The town is very crowded and honky-tonk but has some nice lunch places such as Unni’s or Ana’s. Right at the hotel is a terrific scuba outfit, Black Fin Scuba, and long tail boat day or half day trips for snorkeling.

Resort in the middle of paradise”

The nature around the resort

I'm traveling 200 days every year and know all kind of hotels world wide. This resort is probably the most amazing place I ever experienced. We went there to celebrate our 25 years anniversary and brought our two sons (21 and 25 years old). This place is absolutely perfect for a honeymoon. I've read some of the comments before we came, and I can only tell you to forget all the negative words you read. I don't know what people expect?? - It's an amazing place with a wonderful nature around you. Wonderful sea-view bungalows (we stayed in 4104) and all with a great view. Lots of animals around. We had ape's, parrots and a saw a single snake. Beach is wonderful and clear water. Just 50 meters from the beach the reef is coming and if you go snorkeling there, then you will meet very friendly "black tip" sharks, plus lots of beautiful colored fish from the first meter you swim out from the beach. Hotel prices are pretty expensive compared to other hotels on Phi Phi, but you are at the best location possible and we where there in high season. For me and my wife it was all about celebrating our anniversary, so this place where absolutely perfect, and we could see several of the other guests where there for the same reason. For our sons it was a little different. Young and full of eager to party and meet other people, then it was a little far away from the pulsing life in the city of Phi Phi, but they loved the place as well. It was only a 30 minutes walk from the city, so they survived with walking in and took a boat back to the resort when it became too late (price bath after dark per person). Everything ozes of nature and the outdoor restaurant is very nice and well kept. Breakfast is nice and with a good collection, even it's not like the breakfast at a Westin or Sheraton hotel. Some people complain about mosquitoes, and we got them as well in our bungalow, but we learned the lesson and didn't spend the day with our terrace door open, after this we had no mosquitoes.

Fabulous hotel”

View, food, friendly staff, location

we loved this hotel! i think long beach is the best option on phi phi - it's only a short long tail ride to the main town, and it's a really pretty beach, full of hotels, restaurants and massage options. plus you get a fabulous view of phi phi le. the hotel was excellent. we had a deluxe room which had a spectacular view of long beach, phi phi le and the bay. the restaurant food and service was terrific; we found the food there was as good as anywhere, and reasonably priced. the rooms were lovely; a long walk up steps, but worth it, to see the view. the snorkelling is very good right from the beach in front of the hotel, and you can swim out to shark point to see the reef sharks. there is a dive school right on site (we didn't use, but it looked good). i would highly recommend this hotel if your budget is not too tight and you want a first class experience of phi phi. we stayed 7 nights and it was perfect!! it's at the upper end of price, but still very reasonable. we loved it!!

Grand sea view deluxe rooms give you the best location on Phi Phi”

If you are just looking for the party you should probably go spend far less on the party beach. If you are looking for isolation and empty beaches then Ko lanta would be a better choice (or perhaps Zeavola on Phi Phi). However, if you are looking to spend a few days on a gorgeous island and want access to a lovely beach and a great night life without having to put up with booming music and partying kids then Phi Phi the Beach Resort is the perfect mix. We were in room 2101 and after exploring Ko Phi Phi I'm convinced there is no better view from any room on the entire island. The only caveat is that if you have mobility issues then these rooms might not be ideal since normally you access them by going up somewhat steep stairs (it's a bit of a hike but totally worth it). After talking to people who stayed there I'd say Zeavola is going to give you more in the way of "luxury" service but they are too far from the downtown area to allow for convenient access to nightlife, don't have as perfect a view, and the cost is significantly more than what you'll pay here. Bottom line, my wife and I were extremely happy with our time at the Beach Resort and if we return to Phi Phi we will be staying here again.

Expensive, but totally worth it”

Private beach, private cottages, amazing view from the room, and lots of activities to do close by.

it took us around two hours to get to the hotel in the ferry from krabi. it's away from the city life, and a 10 min ferry ride from the phi phi pier; so that means you can't travel in or out of the hotel after 8pm since the long tail boat stop working after that. this is where the only con about the hotel ends. the hotel is a bunch of cottages held up on bamboo sticks on a hill. it's got a beach right in front of it with white sand. the hotel is exactly how it shows on the site--even better since pictures don't do justice to the location and the beach. the view from the room, if you take a sea facing room, is to die for. you can see the phi phi don island, the beach, and the clear blue sea right from your cottage. life can be lazy if you choose to lie down on the beach and sip margaritas or adventurous if you plan to snorkel or scuba dive. the hotel food is average, but there are options around the hotel, though we didn't try out the other restaurants out of sheer laziness. i'd say it's a perfect 2-3 day getaway if you are looking to live close to the beach and soak yourself in sun. anything more than that, may be move near the phi phi pier or move to krabi.

I love Phi Phi.”

Great ppl. Good to party. Hotel was beautiful. Stunning views. Locals/ staff very nice and friendly. Best fire dancers at the Buddha Bar.
I had to leave.

Phi phi island is paradise. The people there are fantastic. And the beach resort is a great place to share in the beautys of the island.. Our room had stunning views of the phi phi don and phi phi lay, and even when it rained and was wndy it still was perfect.. The hotel is located on long beach which is a little hike from the main town known as the pier. Which for me i loved as at night and dawn you had the beach to your self to relax or have a drink or 2 at the buddha bar, they have nightly fire shows on the beach and the music was good.. Its only a 10 minute long boat ride into the pier and there not hard to come buy. Plus if your feeling healthy take the walk. All up i loved phi phi and i will be returning to the beach resort on long beach ..

Wonderful resort: an unexpected paradise”

Location, luxury standard, heavenly views, happy wonderful service, great snorkelling right off the beach

I am a world traveller and have experienced many luxury holiday resorts in all continents and I rate Phi Phi The Beach This Resort as one of my world's two best kept paradise surprises; the other is Lord Howe Island off the northern New South Wales coast of Australia. Constructed after the disastrous tsunami, the Phi Phi The Beach Resort luxury self-contained villas are lined up down a hillside with breathtaking views of Phi Phi Lai, the location of the film "The Island",the rocky cliffs of Phi Phi Dom and the Andaman Sea. A few dollars hires goggles, snorkel and mask for a day and plentiful beautifully coloured tropical fish swim to within a metre of the long sandy beach. This was my second holiday at the resort, and this time I commenced learning to Scuba dive with an excellent instructor from the Dive Facility of the resort.

Fantastic place to stay”

We had just arrived from staying at Koh Samui, fisherman beach which was lovely but having now stayed at the Phi Phi The Beach resort, the true sense of Thailand was felt more at this resort. We went for a sea view deluxe room & found the view breathtaking in the morning & evening. We appreciate that not every room may have this type of view but it was worth the extra money. Having come from a higher rated star hotel in Samui we were looking forward to a more rustic environment & we got just that. The rooms are quaint but sizeable enough & showering almost outside looking at the sea was a first! The staff were very helpful & pleasant but we are aware that some reviewers have had a unpleasant experience with the staff but we never had an issue. The restaurant on the beach offers a beautiful setting when the tree & floor lights are turned on but don't be fooled by the large menu, the quality of the food is excellent. Overall a great choice in our opinion.

Unforgetable vacation!”

+ : Amazing service - free pickup from the pier, shuttles to your rooms if asked, VERY nice and friendly staff. nice activities on the beach, good service at the beach bar, boat-trips service, scuba diving center (very good instructors!), fire shows at 9PM every night, free minibar in the room. AMAZING BEACH - the best beach in koh phi phi (and for us in whole thailand). we went to beach trips and saw them all. nothing is compared to this. specialy when you get the option to sleep there and not just for 10 minutes. Cristal clear water! with fish swiming with you., you can see your legs in deep water. Amazing view of the island and koh phi phi lee, and the best beach to see the sunset. Close to sharks point where you can snorkel and actualy see sharks! (black-tip) and amazing fish. It was the best relaxing and authentic experience! We've been there for 6 nights and didnt want to leave. We'll come back for sure

We wish we stayed longer! ”

1) location 2) BEACH 3)staff

My fiance and I stayed 6 nights at Phi Phi The Beach and absolutely loved our stay. We stayed in a partial sea room up at the top of the hill. Many reviews I read prior to booking indicated negativity with the "hike" associated with walking to an upper leveled room. However, we didn't walk ONCE, there was always a car readily available to drive us up (or down). The height provided a gorgeous view and felt very private. We enjoyed breakfast (included) everyday (buffet style), and there is a bar and restaurant right on the water. The hotel provides fresh beach towels every morning and the water is warm and beautiful. The "village" is a 6 minute boat ride away for 100 baht a person ($4US) or a 25 min trek (which is actually very scenic). It is the perfect little oasis away from the backpacker/party scene that Phi Phi is known for, but still close enough if you want to engage. If you're into scuba diving, definitely check out Black Tip Scuba (on the resort), they were AMAZING.

Best location in Phi Phi”

Location, view and the rooms

Overall fantastic for what was available in Phi Phi and I review and book hotels for a living. We had a room upgrade which gave us a breathtaking view of the ocean, beach, Phi Phi Ley and Don. I really wanted to stay at Zeovola as the offered me the same price due to travel industry rate but I am so glad that we didn't, we would have felt very cut off from the world. To wake up on Long Beach each morning and see that view it makes me wonder what people have to complain about. Yeah, the breakfast wasn't amazing and a few areas were a bit run down but you are on a remote island in the middle of the ocean with no transport other than long tail boats!! Because of my job I look around at hotels where ever I go and always question if my choice could have been better and after four nights here, for us there was no better choice!

Great location, beach, food and people”

The hotel was really a highlight on our trip to Phi Phi. It is located in a quite beautiful setting with the rooms up a hill. Far enough from the crowds, noise and smell of Tonsai but still close enough to get there cheaply by water taxi. Long beach is also arguably the best beach in Phiphi don. It's not crowded, it's clean, it faces Phi Phi leg and has lot of sea activity for the snorkelers (including shark point if you want to see some little sharks). The food is very good. Plentiful selection at breakfast. The restaurant for lunch and dinner is also very nice with also many options for every taste and pocket including delicious traditional Thai food and seafood BBQ. The room was also quite nice. We chose the superior garden view, which is the cheapest and farthest away from the beach but it has a nice view and the walk is not that much. To go up and down you can request a cart to take you anytime. Lastly, the people are great and helpful and make your stay very enjoyable.

Beautiful beach & friendly staff”

The view, the beach, the staff, the food

We had a wonderful time at The Beach Resort. We stayed in a Front Side Deluxe room, which was just wonderful. The room was huge, with a large balcony over looking the beach with a view to Phi Phi Lei. I would recommend spending the extra money and getting a deluxe room, the deluxe rooms looked much nicer than the cheaper rooms; they are bigger and have a nicer view. We found the staff very friendly and helpful and loved the food at the restaurant - especially the freshly caught BBQ seafood. The pool is small but copmletely un-necessary as the hotel is right on the beach. The beach is the cleanest beach we saw on the island and the best for swimming. It is also uncrowded as the resort sits at the end of Long Beach, which is a 30 minutes walk from the main town. Some of the negative reviews seem to be from people who expect 5 star luxury for 3 star prices. There are certainly some things that could be improved (the bath towels were a bit worn for example) but it is not a 5 star resort so you can't expect everything to be flawless. Overall we thought it was wonderful for the price and would definitely recommend staying here.

Phi Phi The Beach Resort”

friendly helpful staff and excellent food
Need to get taxi boat to it from Phi Phi town which might not get up onto beach if waves are up

We enjoyed our stay at this resort. Our accomodation was excellent, a good size bungalow on a hill overlooking the beach with fantastic view across to Phi Phi Ley. The room had everything you would expect including air con fridge with well stocked mini bar, prices were very reasonable. Although it was a steep walk to our bungalow this was not a problem as the hotel provided a tuc tuc service on request. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food which was served in an open air restaurant overlooking the beach was very good. Breakfast which was included in the price was also very good. The only problem we had was it can be difficult to get to and from the hotel as it is at the very end of Long Beach and a taxi boat ride to Phi Phi Town. Unfortunately if the weather is windy and the waves are up the boats cannot get up on to the beach and this means a walk either further along the beach or if you ar really unlucky with the weather you may have a steep difficult climb to the next beach to get a boat.

Fantastic hotel in a stunning location ”

We stayed at Phi Phi the beach for 5 nights in the deluxe sea view accommodation. The view over the bay to Phi Phi Lay was incredible and the deluxe cabin felt very private with no other cabins visible. It was clean and we'll equipped and the room was refreshed every day with new sheets, towels and free minibar items which was fantastic. All the staff were polite and helpful with our needs including organising boat trips to Maya beach and lagoon on Phi Phi Lay which is a must see during your stay here. We took a longboat to the lagoon just before low tide which meant we had the entire lagoon to ourselves for 3 hours before the tide came back in as no boats can enter when the water is too low. This was incredibly special and something we will always remember about our stay. The breakfast at the hotel is also excellent and will keep you full until evening if you make the most of it! The green Thai curry was probably the best I've tasted and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Once you get there you wont want to leave!”

The location is amazing! The views from the room is spectacular - and really good value for money.
If anything the pool is a bit small but you don't really use it considering the sea is right there!

Stayed in an Ocean View Villa and the view is spectacular!!!! You can sit on your balcony, take it all in and it really is amazing. There are very few bad things to say about Phi Phi the Beach Resort - the sea is literally at the foot of the resort, and within the vicinity of the restaurant and bar. We stayed at the resort the whole time, and considering the limited choice of other areas to dine, the food is really good and inexpensive. The villa itself was high on the hill over looking the ocean and although a steep walk if it gets too much the staff are more than happy to give you a ride to and from your room - they also provide complimentary long boat transfer from the main pier at Phi phi Island - so there are no hassles there. We really loved the place and would definately go back - we only stayed a couple of days and we didn't want to leave!
