Quality Hotel”
Tonsai Place is a hidden gem - only a few hundred metres from the pier. A local showed us on her map which laneway to take and then it was so easy to find. This is a fairly new hotel and of a high standard for 2stars very large rooms good air con and movie channels on tv. The beach is only 100metres from this hotel. It is a lovely quiet area but in Phi Phi it is not far to walk any place on the island.

We stayed at phi phi before and this time we stayed here at tonsai. Greatest hotel that we have stayed at on phi phi. Perfect location. We had the sea view. Room was amazing and very spacious shower for 2. Perfectly located. The island is for partying however we never got out to do much on this trip because we were tired. Sleeping isn't an issue at this hotel. You can barely hear the music at the beach late at night. I can't say that for the surrounding hotels. I would stay here again

Lovely basic hotel”
The lady who ran the hotel was lovely and very helpful on our 2 nights in Phi Phi. Booked our full day boat trip with her and was always greeted with a smile. The rooms are basic, nothing fancy but good value for money. Beds where comfy and had good nights sleep. Make sure you iron your clothes before going as most smaller hotels don't provide. Overall would recommend the hospitality and friendliness of the staff and nice rooms.

Splendid rooms with a view ”
An absolutely stunning room with high-end contemporary fixtures and fittings which created a luxury ambience. I particularly liked the green sub-lightening that elumanates the back wall. My room had the lush green forest mountain views which Phi Phi is renound for which was an absolute pleasure waking up to in the morning! The only down side was wet room shower water; after showering overflowed near the toilet which meant that it stayed there (unless you cleared it up) and could smell drainage but I think that's an issue with most islands in Thailand. The location is in the heart of what's happening but has quite rooms which is a real luxury for that area. Overall it was a great stay and highly recommended.

actually I try most of the hotels in phi phi island .. Now I stuck on this hotel .. Nice stuff , clean , nice room , price some time high in high season but stell the best hotel for me in phi .. Others hotel most of them the water have bad smel and not good stuff not clean

Clean, Great Location, Avoid Backpackers”
This hotel seems to be off the beaten path of the typical backpacker places on the island... I've found on my other visits to Phi Phi that places are usually dirty and overcharge. It's difficult to get a nice, clean place to stay on Phi Phi- and this is certainly one! I would recommend this, but it's difficult to find this place on arrival... No signs or anything.

Bedroom is amazing, good location. Smelly bathroom”
It's a new building, so it looks really nice. Beds are super comfy and we had a view and sitting area outside. However, never felt like I was really clean after having a shower. Bad water pressure and it smelled. Assuming that's how all of the bathrooms on Phi Phi are. Dorms probably would have been fine for us, but we got nervous with all of the bad reviews online with most of the hostels there. We quickly realized that the bad reviews are probably from picky tourists who don't backpack. There are a lot of rolly suitcase vacationers here. So Phi Phi Tonsai Place ended up being our splurge for our two month backpacking trip around SEA. Just wish the bathroom didn't smell funny.

I took see view room in the corner it was perfect nice design nice Vee stuff help full,clean hotel , I stay 8 nights and I go to phi almost every 2 months , have one point that the water all bit salted in pp princess better and the drain have a bad smill some time maybe coz it's still new , I injoy my stay , about the price it's a lil bit high but that's pp island high price less quality :)

Central Phi Phi, Bad Internet, Smoke fron the junk yard”
The place is new and clean, and the employees are friendly, which is normal in lovely Thailand. This is not a cheap backpackers dormatory, and these are the problems for €100 per night which is rather expensive for Thailand. 1) Totaly bad internet which is weak and on and off all the time. Maybe good enough for patient facebook chaters but that is it. 2) Agodas photo for this room on the top floor (tsunami-safe) is room No. 300. Get that one. All other most expensive rooms on the top floor are smaller, or have a view to a great big junk yard like we had. This junk yard burns big heaps of stuff every night and the smoke creeps into your room and polutes the whole area. Sitting on the balcony? Forget it. Not nice. Unfortuneatly I cannot post a picture ot the depressing sight from our balcony to the ugly junk yard here. 3) Out of 5 nights there we had one night with hot water out of the shower. Not nice for that price. Koh Phi Phi is great, just not this hotel.

We are from San Diego, California. We stayed at this hotel 2 nights in December 2015. We had the beach view room on the 3rd floor. After staying at numerous hostels and low budget places around Thailand, we ended our trip with a nicer hotel and loved it. I thought the location was great! t's very close to the main pier and pretty much in the heart of everything but still very quiet. It'll be loud all over the island so just bring some ear plugs wherever you choose to stay but this hotel was pretty decent with the outside "party" noise. The staff doesn't speak much English so you can't use a concierge-type service where you can get advice on tours and things to do around the island but they were nice and not rude at all (nice staff is always a plus in my book). We needed to keep our luggage somewhere after we checked out and they held onto it for us which was awesome! They even gave us some towels and let us use their "lobby" bathroom even after we checked out which was amazing! This place was super chill, would be better if there was a pool!! They come in and give you new towels and make your bed everyday which was unexpected (we weren't used to that in Thailand). Their AC worked very well...so necessary in Thailand!!! Their windows and sliding doors were nice and tight so I didn't have to worry about mosquitos or bugs coming in. They have a rain shower and pull-out shower nozzle thingy which we appreciated so much!!

Hoping for more”
After reading several positive reviews and knowing that hotels on koh phi phi aren't that great, I was hoping to be pleasantly surprised. However I was not. The staff tried to be helpful by giving us some sort of mosquito spray, however it was not enough for all the little bugs that were in our room. There was an opening under the door so many more mosquitos got in. Though this was hotel was recently contructed, it is aging quickly (I'm sure it has more to do with the whether in phi phi than the management). What we really didn't like about the hotel was the location. It looks like it is just off the path in ton sai village, however it felt more residential and unsafe when walking alone or just two girls at night. The bathroom is one where the floor gets wet while you shower and no hand towels. I would recommend trying a different hotel if you can.

Pretty clean and nice for the price”
Clean place working AC, and the room was pretty modern.. after reading the reviews I just made sure to ask for a room in the new building and on the top floor with the beach view and luckily I got it.. perfect place right in the middle of everything and right next to the local eating spots!

Didn't Meet Expectations”
In looking at the pictures, I was very excited to stay at Tonsai Place. However, our experience here did not meet our expectations. The location is nice, it's close to the pier and the beach on the opposite side of the pier is just a 3 minute walk away. The staff, on the other hand, is anything but friendly and helpful. Our room wasn't cleaned consistently, which normally isn't a problem but this hotel does not permit throwing toilet paper into the toilets. At a minimum, I would expect the trash to be emptied on a daily basis. The a/c worked but was slow to cool down. Overall, the rooms were modern and clean but the price did not match the value.

Great place, great location ”
I stayed at this place only one night but I wished I stayed longer. I had a superior room which was a bit over my budget but I really liked it. It was really quiet (didn’t hear the music), the bed was so comfy and my room was big. The location is great too, close to everything.

Quieter location”
Really big nice room, good facilities, comfy bed. Not as loud as other places on that side of the island, much more relaxing. 2 minute walk to the beach. No pool was the only down side.

Exactly what we wanted.”
Definitely a little more expensive but not by much and was exactly what we wanted. It was like a real hotel but way cheaper, plus it was close to everything but just around the corner so that it wasn't loud! The staff was nice and helpful and the rooms were great!

great value for money ”
Brand new hotel, clean and good smelling sheets and towels, big shower head with plenty hot water, great WIFI, Tv with many channels, balcony, cleaned every day. Location close to beach, bars, pier but completely quiet. This is not a resort so no pool or common grounds. Good value for money for kophiphi standards (which os much more expensive than kophangamn)
