Beautiful and peaceful retreat location”

Log House with quiet surroundings

My bingo choice of stay at Malacca! Our family took a 2 night stay at the Philea Resort & Spa through Agoda. The checking in was hassle-free and the staff are exceptionally friendly and professional. Even the horticulturists there even offered their greetings although we did not expect any. The place was very nicely furnish and the log house has a pleasant scent of oak and felt very relaxing after a long drive from Singapore. We enjoyed the free Buggy ride which ferried us back and forth the reception and our room. Our kids loved it! Kept asking for the buggy ride and the buggy attendants are very friendly always chatting with our kids. Breakfast was good with decent variety of Oriental, American and Continental choice. Tip: If you want a breakaway from the bustling city life, this is the place to reside for your trip. The journey into Malacca town takes about 30 mins drive in if you do not mind the journey. The Philea Resort and Spa is located far away from the Malacca main shopping district near the Ayer Keroh Toll once enter from the NS highway.

Resort with tranquility and relaxation”

Well kept and breathtaking view

My family have been to couple of resort before and Philea Resort & Spa is definitely ranked one of the best resort that we have been to. We checked in to the hotel quite late in the evening after our drive from Singapore, disrupted for a while due to puncture tyre. This resort is indeed quite secluded and for first timers like us we may have been lost our way if not for my wife attention to detail having read the reviews, to where we are suppose to exit after Ayer Keroh/Mallaca toll exit. The sign to the resort is not clearly displayed prominently after the toll, to what we have hoped for. Greeted by their friendly staffs and brought to our room via a buggy which is available 24hrs. Upon checking in to our room, we are greeted by the smell of "fresh wood", some reviewers say that is takes time to get use too, but for us it is just refreshing and immediately trigger our relax mood. There is not much choice of food in their in-house dining menu to choose from. For travellers who are mobile there are food choices in the vicinity near to the resort. The room is very clean and everything that travellers would have hoped for in terms of decorations and accessories. Have not tried the spa due to limited time during this visit. There is facilities like karaoke room which will add more event for families. View of man-made waterfall in the vicinity of swimming pool is breathtaking. Definitely, a resort that we will be visiting again.

An Eden if you bring earplugs”

(1) Impeccable hotel room layout (Philea Suite) (2) Helpful and responsive staff (3) Cosy Surroundings

1. Ambience. As many reviews have referred to, the noise from other tourists from the swimming pool was quite pervasive. The log walls of the Philea Suite could not keep the noise out. Otherwise, very peaceful surroundings. 2. Philea Suite. The Suite is very thoughtfully designed. Large room size and tastefully designed. 3. Bathroom. Bathroom also huge and luxurious. Took a while to figure out the dials for hot water. We gave the bath tub a missed - couldn't figure out how to drain the water away. 4. Parking. Extremely limited parking within the resort's interior. When we arrived, there was a function and a wedding. After much requests, the staff allowed us a lot within the resort's compounds. 5. We came here to escape the haze in Singapore. Unfortunately haze caught up with us here. The haze somehow managed to diffuse into the room. 6. Steamboat dinner at Bayu Cabana was quite good. 7. Overall, a very pleasant stay, IF you can stomach noise from tourists at the swimming pool. Somehow, a group of tourists were playing water polo (or something to that effect). Kept hearing loud cheers of "GOAL". 8. Location is just off Ayer Keroh Toll, not the most convenient if your destination is the heritage area in Malacca Town. But we drove so that did not bother us very much.

Nice and unique Hotel”

Log cabin accommodation, nice swimming pool, buggy as transport to commute in the resort
breakfast-not much variety,

Philea Hotel is a nice and beautiful place to have a weekend getaway. My wife and i decided to chose this hotel due to its strategic location, which is very near to the Ayer Keroh exit North-South highway. The accommodation is unique. All rooms are logger cabins type, equipped with all the facilities needed. The interior of the rooms were decorated with wooden stuff, and malacca cultures. Transport in the resort is using buggy. Hotel personnel will give us buggy ride from the lobby to our rooms. Breakfast is a bit disappointing.I would say, for a 5-star hotel, the breakfast menu is not that many options. I would suggest the hotel to provide wide diversity of breakfast menu.

Peaceful, Gorgeous Landscaping.”

The staff are friendly and very helpful. The resort landscaping makes one forget their worries. Perfect for family retreat or honeymoon for couples.

Me and wife decided to bring my mom for a 1 night stay in Malacca as a family retreat. We were attracted by Philea Resort and Spa's astonishing close-to-nature-landscaping and so, we booked a twin bed room with a garden view as that is the only room (with separate single beds) available via agoda.com. When we first stepped in philea resort and spa to check-in, we were invited by friendly staffs, welcoming us with refreshing drinks. We discovered that our room was located on the second floor of the villa. One of the staff (i'm guessing the manager), saw my elderly mom-in-law, and without hesitation, gave us a free upgrade (1 king size and 1 single bed) room on the first floor. And what's more, we got the pool view plus man-made waterfall view! Such an amazing sight! We were more than pleased by the extra service rendered by the thoughtful staff and couldn't thank him enough. We didn't get his name though. There is buggy service available too. So you can always call the operator from your room for a buggy as the villa that you will be staying might be very far away from the resort entrance/exit. And not to worry, staff sending guests to villa via buggy upon check-in is their SOP. When we reached our villa, the cleaner staff ask to ensure if all the amenities in the room suffice, which it did. Once again, excellent service. The room is gorgeous! Very cosy and the size of the room is reasonable for 3 person. The bathroom however, is huge! love it so much. With long horizontal mirrors in the centre, a bathtub on it's left side, and rain shower on it's right. It looked really luxurious. We didn't have our breakfast at the resort as we prefer street food. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and thanks to the staff who gave us free upgrade, we are able to sleep soundly and comfortably, making it a hassle-free stay for us. We will definitely return again; this time, a longer stay. Thank you Philea, for the excellent service and remarkable landscaping view.

Great Resort”

Quiet, nature orientated and relaxing resort

Philea Resort and SPA provides a great resort for nature lover. The resorts are built from 100% wooden and give a nature feeling when you stay in the room. The resort is located right after Ayer Keroh toll plaza but a bit far from Malacca town. Self-driving is the best option for move around between the resort and the town.

Awesome”

Swimming pool,service,room facilities

We had a mini holiday recently to Philea Resort & Spa in Ayer Keroh. It was truly the perfect getaway for us because this gem of a resort is only located 1 hour 15 minutes (we took a bit longer coz the hubby drives like a woman we had a precious cargo at the back seat, lol) from KL. And should you crave for some good Malacca food, you may achieve just that by driving into town. We’re off to our mini trip!We checked in around 2pm after having a quick lunch in a mall nearby. We didn’t want to go into town because it would take another 30 minutes. Interestingly enough, the traffic lights in Malacca town takes a minimum of 2 minutes WAITING time when the light goes red. That really adds up to the journey and it’s so annoying I swear.First impression of the resort: Okay not bad, so nice of them to let us check in 1 hour earlier! Little did I know we would end up LOVING this resort. I’ve already recommended this place to so many people. We got the Philea Suite, which is perfect coz its located justtt right outside of the pool and walking distance to the lobby. But still we hopped onto the buggy (love this place coz you can call for the buggy anytime to take you places! You will never have to walk in the sun) and arrived to our little home.

Beautiful rooms, good breakfast, friendly staff

the reception process was efficient and we were taken to our rooms by buggy. the buggies are always available to take guests around the resort but distances are not far and the walks are scenic. the rooms are beautiful, made from wood and well appointed including a rainforest shower and complimentary drinks. there is a large swimming pool and a spa where we had a good massage at a reasonable price. the resort is well situated by the ayer keroh toll and a short drive from melaka.

Most unique & peaceful getaway, coming back again!”

Peaceful, leafy landscape, supremely comfortable bedding and what a unique design for Malaysia

Read about this resort as among highest rated in Agoda & Traveladvisor so decided to give it a shot for new years eve short getaway. 1.5 hour from our home in shah alam, the resort is immediately located after Ayer Keroh tol The place is not on GPS ( Sygic) so we used the Butterffly Lizard Park as destination point. On arrival, the lobby was a bit of a letdown as it was hot, not enough fans, so-so design, no one voluteered to carry our bags from the car to lobby, they seem to be understaffed, probably new years eve. However a rookie looking receptionist guy was very helpful and pleasant, helped me print my Agoda booking slip as they needed it ( eventhough in the booking receipt it mentioned only required e-slip). Had to wait half an hour though as we arrived 2.30 yet check in time is ar 3 and our room wasn't ready. Welcome drink doesn't look appetizing but refreshing and the titbits was not replenished despite check in time was 3pm A buggy was used to transfer us to the room at 3pm sharp, and it seems he unintentionally gave us a thrilling ride, boy, was he in a hurry as the buggy was zooming fast on a cobblestone path! We enjoyed it but it may be a bit dangerous to kids/ elderly as even i was hanging for dear life! We booked the upper floor king villa as some tips online on groundfoor being exposed to upper floor noise, though its not that bad, and next room occupant was rather noisy and we weren't insulated from them either. The room was gorgeous, so nicely designed, classy colour choices and lighting and what a comfortable bed and pillows! It was a hot day and we had to turn on both the fan and aircond to be comfortable. Note to management to lenghthen the fan cord as short asian like me had to stretch out to reach it. Our view was trees and the back of the individual villas but it was fine. I love the bushida trees so much and they plant it just enough. Great pool, decent gym, good food especially the noodles. Nice cabin styled accommodation

It's just a stone throw away from the Ayer Keroh toll booth. Close to public attractions like the malacca zoo and butterfly park. The resort is immaculate and looks brand new. Hopefully it can be maintained that way. Water features like the swimming pool and waterfall gives this resort its natural look. Can't wait to go back for another weekend stay.

The rooms are spacious and unique unlike and resorts available in Malaysia

On arrival, were treated with nice asam juice for the family. We were sent to our rooms with the buggy. The resort is unique due to its log structure where u can't find any in Malaysia I supposed. The view of the resort is beautiful with their manmade waterfall. The staffs were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was impressive with internationl, local and Chinese spread and they were all halal. This resort is one of the best I stayed so far in Melaka. Its very near Ayer Keroh toll but a sitance to the city.

Lost in nature but within city reach”

Foresty feel

Philea resort provides families with a "lost in the woods" experience. After I checked in to my room, I thought that I was in some forest close to the Amazon. Air was fresh and birds were chirping in the morning. Not a slight bit of noise if you stay on the upper deck. The log cabin feel is very unique and not found in most South East Asian resorts, if any at all. The condition of the rooms was also excellent and the pool with a waterfall was very nice. Although staying at Philea can be considered pricey to some, I believe the memories of staying here will resonate with many for a long time.

I would say great stay at Philea Resort! Attending my company teambuilding, and meantime have to bring family as I have very young 4 months old baby. Quite sceptical at first knowing the resort is in green scenery n the room was built from log. But all change starting from the moment we arrive. Very helpful and attentive staffs, offering help to unload luggages from car and offering buggy service. Thanks to FO manage to give me early check in and very great room location near to the pool. Comfortable and clean room to stay in with complete amenities. Really enjoy our 2 nights stay and kids are happy too with back to kampung concept in their mind😊

This is my 2nd stay in Philea Resort. It's my favorite hotel of in Malaysia! The reason I went to Malacca was only for the Hotel. It was very enjoyable and comfortable in the lodge house. But be reminded that it'll be a little bit hot in the afternoon, especially if you're staying on the top floor. Overall, it was another great stay.

Beautiful hotel with Attentive service”

Beautiful log cabin like rooms.

It was my family and my first visit to Philea Resort n Spa.When we first arrived, we were warmly greeted at reception with welcome drinks and cool towels.24hr buggy service available to help take us to and fro room to reception area. Room was beautiful and well supplied with slippers, iron and board and toiletries.Pool was just as beautiful with waterfalls as backdrop.Breakfast had adequate selections. Not much in terms of entertainment. 2 pool tables were both spoiled.Only managed 1 night at Philea this time but will definately stay there again.

Loverly resort but location bit far from the town”

Probably the only log resort in Malaysia

We didn't know that the resort is just 2 minutes away from Ayer Keroh tol. However it is bit far from town. You probably need 30-45 minutes to town, depends on traffic. Love the way the resort is built. The rooms are cosy and clean. Most imnportantly, we felt comfortable. The staff are friendly too. Will definitely return
