Probably your best pick in Phi Phi”
Ok so like many pointed out, the biggest con about the Phitarom PP Resort is the steep set of stairs. Well let me tell you this. True, it kind of sucks if you get the room at the top and have to go all the way up the stairs, but other than that, it's just a set of stairs... So let me tell you this, if you're the kind of person who can't go up stairs, or get really annoyed over spending a little energy, then yeah this hotel is not for you, and in fact, Thailand is maybe not for you at all... Now, back to the hotel review. This hotel was probably one of the best 3 stars I tried. I tried several hotels throughout Thailand, and a few ones on Phi Phi, and so far and this one was better than most of them. Like most hotels the staff was helpful, that's a given, but the rooms were also very clean, which is not always a given. Location wise, I think it's perfect. You're not the last hotel on the far end of the beach where it takes you half an hour to get near civilization, and you're not straight in the heart of where people party and stay up all night. Basically you get the best of both worlds. The mountains of Loh Dalum Bay are quiet and peaceful, but also only a few minutes away from partying and seeing people. Other than that, yes, it's Phi Phi Island, so good luck finding an ATM. Just withdraw money before getting on the island, but of course. Food wise, it's alright. The food is good, like most hotels, but it's slightly more expansive than other restaurants, again like most hotels. However, since you're in Phi Phi, you are more likely to pay extra for food anywhere you go, so you might as well eat at the hotel if you don't want to go out. Price wise, I'd have to say it's excellent. Phi Phi has always been more expansive than the average Thailand location, but this hotel is really good for the price and quality. You definitely get more than what you pay for. I stayed there for a whole week, and totally enjoyed my stay. I didn't buy into the Phi Phi Island hype, so

great resort”
we booked this resort and had no idea what to expect. the resort offers a pick up service from the boat (keep in mind that the last boat leaves pucket at 2:30) and have a bellboy to bring your stuff to the room. the resort is a bit outside the main street so no noice at night. we got a really nice cottage up on the hills. the view is spectacular. you are able to go to a view piont which is a 30 min walk from phitarom but the view from the rooms are just as breath taking. the resort has a some what small pool but is close to the beach. the staff is very friendly and the provide pool towels, laundry and a standard breakfast. they even remember your room number! overal a great resort, had an amazing time in koh phi phi and wpuld stay with them again without a doubt!

Truly beautiful”
What a great resort! We needed a little help with our luggage as there were more than a couple of steps up to our cabin but there were very friendly and helpful staff on hand to help us out. We had a balcony with chairs and a table which looked out onto palm trees and the beach which was absolutely beautiful especially at sunset. Our room was very spacious with a nice sized bed and our towels were laid out to look like a flower which was a nice touch. We had a large wardrobe for all our clobber, and a TV. Our room was cleaned every day and the staff seemed very friendly. I will definitely be going back to Phi Phi at some point and I would love to stay at Phitarom PP Resort again.

Value-budget resort in Phiphi”
Phitarom is value resort as well as budget. It has good airconditioning room, small pool and luggage carry service to the pier, and also not expensive as much as premium resorts near the beach but still fair facilities. Room Cleaned everyday, 500mlx2 water provided daily, umbrella in the closet too. It could have been nicer if they have strong water pressure on shower. (Our room was on second lower out of 3 height) Only couple of shortcomings are resort's location and mosquitos. Phitarom is on the hill. So some people can feel fatigue, but its location allows you hear less noise in the night from the party zone, distant from those places Phitarom is very safe either. also one other fall back is there are heaps of mosquitos so I recommend you to bring your own anti mosquito gears (it's general prob of Phi phi though). Phitarom had mosquito nets but ours didn't work so well We enjoyed our stay in Phitarom and staffs were so nice and helpful. I recommend you this place

Amazing and very friendly staff! From the moment i checked in, i knew i had made the right decision.”
The pros for me was the staff and location. As soon as i walked in i felt welcomed! I noticed that there were a few stairs to walk up to my room, but honestly the view and the quietness from neighbours and beach party “everyday” was well worth it. The room has proper a/c and good security for the resort, there were no bugs or insects in the room I was in so that was even a huge plus!!The room was well cleaned everyday with new amenities/towels. I had read a few reviews about this place and was a bit worried but honestly i feel like some people complain too much and forget they are in an island and not in the city. I really love this resort and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to stay away from the noise and enjoy a goood time in Phi-Phi island. I cant thank the staff enough for their kindness and great service! Good job guys!

Decent place for the money wonderful staff!”
Phi phi is small and I found all accomodations were pricey. I picked this place as it seemed the best value for the money. I found the location perfect and the setting quite pretty as it's in the hill . There are a lot of stairs because of this we got a room lower down to avoid this but the higher rooms have a great view. We never heard the music at night as others complained about on this site ( people travel with ear plugs!) The staff were beyond friendly! The pool is small but was perfect for cooling off in the heat and very clean. I would stay there again

In need of an update/renovation”
We stayed at Phitarom Phi Phi for 4 nights from 15-19 February 2010. The resort has amazing views over Phi Phi, especially from the rooms on the top of the hill. Staff was friendly and nice throughout our stay, and offer a great service of meeting you at the pier when you arrive to help bring your luggage all the way to you room (and back again to the pier when you leave). The location of the resort is OK, it is close enough to the beach (5 min walk) and restaurants/Phi Phi town, but far enough away from the night live to be a bit quieter. We would definitely recommend going to the beach instead of using the pool. The pool is OK, but quite small, but with beaches like the ones on Phi Phi you would be crazy to prefer a pool. We found that some of the stairs to the rooms were in need of repair, while others were fine (we were 2 couples staying, so walked a bit around the resort). Our bathrooms needed a good clean and a new/rinsed shower head would have done wonders (we ended up unscrewing the shower head to get any water out), and as everywhere on Phi Phi, the water is a bit salty. In general, the resort area could use a good clean up. It seems that some waste is left lying around in various places, which is really a shame as it could be a much nicer place if standards were kept a bit higher. Breakfast is pretty average, so it is worthwhile going somewhere else, even though you would then pay for it (but hey, prices are good, so no big deal). Location wise, in order to get into Phi Phi town from the resort, you have to walk through/over an open sewer which was really disgusting. This has nothing to do with the resort though, but a general comment on Phi Phi Island, which could definitely need a bit of a cleanup in general.

Phitarom Paradise”
The Phitarom PP Resort is located on the side of the hill leading up to the view point on Phi Phi. It's an ideal location far enough away from the madding crowd but close enough to be just a short stroll from the action. Lovely rooms built on stilts on the hillside and a nice pool to relax around. The only negative point is the steps up to the room (although worth it for the view!)

Phi Phi Phitharom Paradise”
we were really pleased with this place. if you read lots of reviews and compare price ranges of other hotels on the is the common theme is that phi phi is comparatively expensive for a lot less, sewage/plumbing is primitive and people generally have a lot to complain about. i booked and arrived at this place with low expectations however we were really impressed. it is not 5 star and is aging and could use some overhauling but the rooms were really comfortable, there were almost 100 stairs to our room but the view was good, you could sit on the balcony naked and no one would really see you, the music from the clubs was really nothing to worry about. the location was slightly outside the main club scene which was nice, however the whole wee town is about 5 min walk from either side. the hotel was at the pier to meet us and carry our luggage to the hotel and up all the stairs for us. the bathroom worked and the slightly salty water didn't matter at all. as its a very small is things like electricity and fresh water are at a premium. drinking water is cheap to buy. sewage and bad smells are a common theme anywhere on the island, so don't let this put you off, it is the same everywhere and really just depends on which way the wind os blowing. i would really recommend this place as a great place to stay for a couple or even a group. this is not the location on the island for a family trip. thanks a lot phitharom!

Spacious rooms in a great location. Amazing views from the high rooms, friendly and helpful staff”
Large spacious rooms to stay in with a good sized bathroom and brilliant large balcony with table and 2 chairs. Incredible views from our room (it was very high up and you could watch the sunset) daunting to look at the amount of steps to get there, but staff were brilliant and carried our luggage up all the way! Really friendly and helpful staff for directions and escorting you and your luggage to the pier for the ferry. Close to everything in Phi Phi. Could hear music on a night time from some of the bars by the beach, but think you would have that no matter where you stay.

great location, nice room”
phi phi island is busy and lacking customer service but the management and staff at this hotel were very nice and accomadating. the rooms were clean but needed some repair and for my taste hotels can never be clean enough but this one overall was pretty clean. again, the two gentleman in the lobby went out of their way to make our stay as good as possible. i would stay at this hotel again considering price, etc. overall 7.5/10. ps- don't send the owner icewine :)

Good location!”
I had a pleasant stay at Phitarom resort. The location is very good if you don't mind taking a few stairs up to the bungalow. Nice and clean rooms with great view over phi phi. Very nice and helpful staff as well. Bit the pool is not good at all bit it's close to the beach so it doesn't matter that much. I can really recommend this hotel!

Great value for money”
The rooms (or the bungalows on the side of the hill) were really big and comfortable. A definite plus is that they're pretty quiet compared to most parts of Phi Phi. Great views and good service as well.

Pleasant hotel with incredible staff”
I was pleased with my stay, but can't say that there was anything fantastic about this resort. Overall, I'm rather neutral. It's the 2nd of 3 places where I stayed in Krabi (the only on Phi Phi), but it was my least favorite. I can say that the water pressure in the bathroom was great, and the staff went out of their way with kindness. Also, there were no mosquitos in the room, a huge bonus for me. Unlike others, I didn't mind the walk up the stairs to my room. The walk to the resort was pleasant - just far enough away from the craziness of the bars, but close enough to not feel isolated. The room had few bells and whistles, but got the job done. The room/resort needs to be updated, but it was fine. The pool was small, but nice. During the time I was there, the level of chlorine in the pool was off the charts. I couldn't stay in the pool for more than a few minutes without it irritating my eyes. (The water was also too warm and not very refreshing.) The breakfast buffet left much to be desired. Although on my second day, rather than putting eggs out with the buffet, they asked me what I wanted and prepared to order. I still feel like it was probably a great deal for Phi Phi, but not when compared with other Krabi beaches.

A room with a large area and with a beautiful view. Large comfortable bed, large bathroom.”
A room with a large area and with a beautiful view. Large comfortable bed, large bathroom, large terrace. It is not as loud as in other locations, but it is also not quiet. Night silence on the Phi Phi Island start at 2 am. We were on the Phi Phi 3 times in different hotels, but this hotel we can recommend in 100%.

Good value for the cost”
phi phi is a great island and the phitarom is a very good hotel. we were met at the ferry by someone who carted our luggage for us and they did the same back to the pier when we left. the people were very kind and helpful. the breakfast wasn't great, the meats looks unappetizing for example, but it didn't feel very important to us. i was traveling with my 23 year old son, and he really enjoyed the pool (i preferred the beach). i would stay there again.

Fine hotel - for 1-2 nights”
Nice hotel, we stayed there for only 1 night. We got 2 rooms connecting by a door and it was very convinient. Staff is very nice. When got into Ko Phi Phi, they waited for us, and took us with our logage to the hotel and it was a very nice suprise. When left, also took us to the boat. Hotel is good. if you have problem with climbing the stairs, it is not for you.

Review of Phitarom PP Resort”
I spent two nights at the Phitarom PP Resort, and was met at the pier by a staff member who took my bags and accompanied me to the resort. There I was met by the manager and had my bags taken for me up the 98 steps to my room. I didn't mind the steps as the higher up, the better the view. The room was great, staff great, and the overall experience at the resort, great. The one thing they can improve on is the breakfast. There is not much variety, and the food is cold. (i.e. cold eggs, french toast etc). The food is kept in the metal heat trays, however without any flame under the trays to keep it warm, the food goes cold. I experienced this at both breakfasts, and they were at different times. All in all, I was very happy with my stay there.

Lovely Treehouse”
Hotel is a very nice one, because of the location of the hotel which is on the mountain this means that it is away from the noise that could be an issue with staying closer to the town. While this is somewhat outside of the town center, because the small size of Phi phi island, from the hotel it is easily walkable into town where the action is. Only issue are the numerous stairs that need to be walked each day.
