Great hotel but is starting to show its age!”

Good location, good food, main operational staff are very helpful and friendly (but not so much with the managers)
Starting to become runned down - the building is not being maintained e.g. large chips in the hallway tiles, bedroom side tables removed and not replaced after becoming damaged, stains on walls not removed, etc

the phnom penh hotel was the best hotel in phnom penh went i first went there in 2006. it is a well located hotel with good food and amenities. the main operational staff are very helpful and friendly (but not so much the managers). unfortunately, the hotel is starting to become run down i.e. the building is not being maintained e.g. many large chips in the hallway tiles, bedroom side tables removed and not replaced after becoming damaged, stains on walls not removed, etc. despite this, i would still recommend it for the time being with the deals through agoda being attractive.

        free breakfast was especially good.
garbage place next to the hotel building

Most of all, I liked the way of making reservation for the hotel I needed in Phnom Penh through Agoda. I think it is the easiest and fastes way to do so in the world. The service and cleaness of the Phnom Penh hotel was quite good and surpassed my expectation. The hotel was at the center of the city, so you can easily reach any place you want to see within 30 minutes. The most fascinating thing about this hotel is that the free breakfast they offer is fantastic. Now, I recommend you to try this hotel. Good luck!

        Security and comfort

I showed up to Phnom Penh Air Port and picked up a $9 taxi ride to the hotel. Everyone knew where it was and the path to the hotel was main roads in the City. Point to be made, there was easy, simple access to the hotel. Upon arrival, the hotel staff couldn't be any more accomodating. They were professional, knowledgeable and coureious. My check-in was smooth. The room was wonderful; it was comfortable and had all the ammenities one could desire. Additionally, the facilities in the hotel made my stay even more enjoyable. A beautiful pool with a poolside bar, a workout facility for my fitness needs, and several resaurants in the Hotel to satisfy my taste buds. Lastly, when I wanted to venture into town, I received great assistance on transportation and advice on places to go. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

One of the better hotels in Phnom Penh with business centre, pool, etc. Rooms are decent sized, well kept and clean although a bit dated. Good buffet breakfast. Close to my work, good tuk-tuk drivers, comfortable

I have stayed in the Phnom Penh Hotel on eleven business trips to Cambodia since October 2008. It is close to my place of work and less expensive than nearby hotels. Making a reservation is easy; check-in is efficient; and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very good and the staff in the Zenith bar is great. On the one occasion that my room was close to refurbishment activity I asked for a room change and got it within a couple of hours.

        Phnom Penh Hotel”

Great pool to relax during the day. Always some shaded area if you dont want too much of the Cambodian sun. Spacious clean rooms. Nice bar. Good breakfast buffet.
The band in the bar is deafening. They could turn the volume down a little.

Phnom Penh Hotel is a fine hotel in a good location. Far enough from the river to be quiet and also set back from the road. There are two types of rooms, facing pool and facing out. Neither are noisy. The pool is a welcome respite. (Some other hotels dont have.) Service is warm and competent. Food is good. Housekeeping are discreet and do not disturb. My favorite place in Phnom Penh.

        Lovely pool and sauna/steam room

the place looks amazing as you arrive, a great facade and entrance foyer, smartly dressed and attentive staff greet you and are not intrusive with demanding tips. the breakfast that was provided free with the room gave plenty of choice, the food was plentiful and i never experienced a shortage of anything. the room was well presented and clean with a secure safe provided, the downside was the airconditioning which was very noisy. also while i was staying they were carrying out extensive building work to the fifth floor directly above my room and there was banging and drilling going on all day from 8am to 6pm. i complained and was relocated to the other side which begs the question, why was i put in that room originally? the location is good, a short walk to wat phnom and as the hotel is on monivong (a main road) there are many great local places to eat very near.

Nice hotel with wonderful and terrible service”

        Pool, massage, and breakfast

We stayed at the Phnom Penh for six days with our children; 8 and 10. We had set up pick up from the airport, and a car was waiting for us. We were clear that we had four in our party, but the trunk of the car could only hold one bag; so the second bag went in the front seat and four of us had to squeeze into the back for the 20 minute ride. Same happened on the trip back to the airport. $15 charge each way...why the hotel couldn't have arranged for a larger vehicle?? The room was nice, although the TV is old and had to be turned on and off twice to get it to show color. Nice large bathroom with a fantastic shower; however, the jets in the tub didn't work if you wanted to take a bath. Also, one of the lights by the nightstand would not fully extinguish, so we had to unscrew it each night. Also, one roll of toilet paper for a family of four each day isn't enough. We had to call for another roll each day. Service was very prompt with all requests. Breakfast was very good, with a variety of asian and western foods; although they did insist on charging us half price for each of our children; even though breakfast was supposed to be part of the room. The pool was wonderful, and the pool staff was there to assist with anything you needed. Prices for food and drink are not bad; not cheap as you'd expect in Cambodia but not too too expensive. $3-4 dollars for a beer or fresh juice. The spa was wonderful. Cheap for 90 minute sessions; around $30. Ladies were from Cambodia, China, and Vietnam. All attentive and well trained. We also booked a couple tours with the Business Center. Not bad, but we think quite overpriced for what you do. And they charged the full rate for our children, didn't give us a receipt; so when we toured we ran into a couple times when a charge was attempted, and we had to explain that we had already paid at the hotel. No big issues though. Tuk-tuks are available if you want to head into various parts of the city; $3 to most places

        good location with clean room”

not far from the airport and the city
waiting for 45 minutes as the room was not ready upon check-in

Phnom Penh Hotel is close to the airport and the business district and the room is nice and clean however the room does not have sufficient lights for reading purpose. Upon checking in the hotel, my room was not ready and I have to wait at the lobby for about 45 minutes with nothing to do.
