The good -- the ambience in general, the food(!), the pool, the carpeted hallway and room floor, the cable tv (was able to watch the Wimbledon) The bad --Don't assume that all guests are foreigners, and treat everyone the same way if you do have locals (I'm somewhere between: A local working overseas and just visiting); also keep a liberal amount of loose change/bills, just in case the guests needed them... The in-between: Wifi could be really good if it's good, but if it's bad, "pray for rain"
If my child likes it, I like it!”
My kid did like it in the one day that we stayed there. My only comments perhaps are sometimes the aircon gets noisy in time, and there were intervals of time when the wifi didn't want to show up. The food and the pool, though! Very nice.
Always clean, and friendly
Better than I thought”
It was much better than I thought it would be. Was surprised that no maid came to clean my room though! I would stay there again. Was only there for 1 and a half nights though. I stayed in the VIP room.
I visited many hotel and find the this hotel give good service cheap cost excellent staff and has a good pool Have stay here many time and been happy each time and will stay here again when i am next in Philippines
the owner was very accommodating and even reserved a parking space for us. The hotel has a good location and it is very clean and we had a comfortable stay. It us indeed a value for money hotel. The only thing maybe that they should improve on is providing bidet on the toilet..
Still a great place to stay........”
Great value for money if you want to drink at the Perimeter bars. Nice foods at the restaraunt. Lots of friendly staff and guests to chat with at the bar. Room clean comfy and quiet. Good wifi and full range of cable channels available. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water. This hotel is an oldie but a goodie! Hope it is around for a few more years.....
good value clean and friendly ”
been walking past this place for years and never stayed there . its a very good budget hotel in a good area give it a try if you havnt .....staying there next time for sure its basic but good ...clean tidy ...but dated which was fine
Good for an overnight stay”
We booked two rooms and both rooms have cockroaches, alive and dead. I asked for a change of room for the other one which had more than 5 dead roaches and 1 alive roach as soon as i opened the door. As for the other room, I only knew of it when I saw my friend the next morning. I hope they clean the rooms and do some renovations.
Stayed in the vip suite. the staff was very nice. Food was very good
This hotel I have stayed at many times because it is Friendly the management and staff are very helpful. The pool is well maintained unlike many in Asia. The restaurant is available 24/7 which is great and the room service cost is same as in restaurant. The plus is that it is expat owned and run and virtually all the guest are expats or vacationers so you feel at home here and very safe. I would be happy to recommend this hotel I wish them a merry Christmas and happy new year
This is one place where they treat you like a friend and it does not feel fake. The food is some of the best in town. They are a small older place but they are one the best places for a budget and quiet location.
A clean and quiet place in Malabanas”
To reach the so-called 'Walking Street' - the center of nightlife there - you can flag down one of the numerous jeepneys, stopping in front of the hotel (the fare is 10 Pesos), or it's just a healthy walk of 15-20 minutes along the Field Av. The location of the hotel is safe and quiet, the staff - including the owner - very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, all equipped with cable tv, aircon and refrigerator. The kitchen (same as the bar) is opened 24 hours. The prices are moderate or even low (SMB 60 P, some brewed coffee). The restaurant offers any kind of food (Filipino as well as western food), but is specialized on a long range of Indian food, from mild to spicy. If you feel hot, just jump into the swimming pool! Because most of the customers are eager to watch sport events, the restaurant has 3 big screens for different programs. One mostly is reserved for world- and nationalwide actual news (all in English). Daily 3 English newspapers are available to read for free inside the Restaurant. So, this hotel with about 30 rooms from standard, luxury to VIP level is to be recommended (and even fully booked during the season).
I have stayed in many differant hotel in this area but this one really suited me had all that i was looking for and the staff could not have been more helpful The pool was always clean and the resturant open 24/7 good food good price and as hired a motorbike was able to park inside so very secure at night So YES i would highly recomend this hotel it is not the most luxury but by far the best value I have had in Clark area. When next i am in Philippines i will be staying at the Phoenix.
We are group of 16 and enjoyed our overnight stay :-) I sooooooo love the Beef with sautéed mushroom and even it's pricey but it's worth it (Rice per cup is P60.00) Ms. Myrna the one serving us in the pool area is very kind lady she's always smiling and we love her 😍 (unlike the old cranky woman in red she's so "masungit" 😠 Phoenix Hotel must replace her because she's liability) Just a suggestion to the management; Please put a sign "uneven floor" in front of the door from reception area because I sprain my left foot badly yesterday upon check out. Overall we had an amazing Stay and will sure be back again soon. I also like Ms .Raiza and Ms. Jas 😘😍😀
Great Price and Great Staff”
This is an older hotel. The glory days are gone. However, the staff and the price makes this a great place to stay. The food they serve is some of the best in Angeles City. Helpful and protective of their guests they treat you like family that they like, not family they have to like! A short walk to Garfields Last Stand, a true old fashion bar without the hustle found in loud newer joints!
Great Bargin Great Small Hotel”
The staff, including the front desk are the best! The food they serve is fantastic. The rooms are showing their age and a little should be spent on upgrades. However, for a safe, friendly no frills place to stay you won't find better in Angeles City. Will stay again!
Excellent value for a quiet clean hotel!”
Stayed at Phoenix late January 2016 and I will do so again. Great value, clean, quiet, amazing friendly staff. I was shocked to never see a cockroach the entire week. The pool is just ok. Resto/Bar was nice- they had a great turkey meal. Only a short 7 peso jeep ride to margarita station and the main action.
Oldie but a goodie”
The staff and the hotel do a great job of utilizing what is there and making it an awesome place to stay. I have actually stayed here for extended stays and enjoy the privacy, the pool and the breakfast. Not a new hotel but the staff do a great job maintaining it. No complaints, would only recommend that they include breakfast with the room charge. But that is not a deal breaker here.
Home from Home”
I love this hotel. It is not for everybody and it won't meet 5 star standards but for me that is not important. What is more important to me is the genuine warm welcome that I receive when I return. Sometimes I almost forget that its a hotel because the staff are so welcoming, they feel like real friends. But even if you have never been there before why not give it a try. You can show up in Angeles without knowing a soul in town, check in to the Phoenix and go sit in the restaurant / bar. Within 10 minutes you will have a room full of friends with everybody happy to advise you where you can go to find whatever you are looking for. I just wish there was more water pressure in the shower!
