Biggest disadvantage is they it is far from town with no shuttle. So you need to pay 150000 each way or eat in the hotel or buy tour tickets at a premium compared to pricrs in town. Large rooms Poor internet in room 6. Stayed 3 nights. 1st night noisefrom party in property next door. 3rd night party in the hotel. Both till 11pm. Ok food. They were adept to our requests Some staff are helpful and speak good English. Some staff are useless and have no idea what they are doing.
Nice quiet beautiful location on an awesome lake. Close to phong nha town and caves. You are restricted to the restaurant which is quite good but it's easy to get a cab to go to the town if you want something else to eat you stay here in February and it was a little cold and drizzling but if you stay when the weather warms up I'm sure this place is stunning. Highly recommend it
The staff were the nicest, most helpful people I've ever encountered in the service industry, no lie. Resort is beautiful, peaceful and the food at the restaurant is fantastic. A bit of a drive into town, but scooter rental is reasonably priced and they will deliver right to the premises. Totally worth renting the scooter and doing a drive around the national park. Would absolutely stay here again.
Nicest hotel in town!”
We stayed in one of the bungalows right on the lake and it was beautiful. The room was huge, with a lanai and great bathroom. The hotel has free wifi, a restaurant, bar, pool, and billiards table to keep you entertained. The restaurant has many food choices and they are delicious and very cheap! Unfortunately, we were there from Oct 13-15 when we were caught in a major monsoon, which killed 21 people in the area. There was so much rain in a 24 hour period, but luckily our hotel was on higher ground. We lost electricity the entire time we were there and unable to leave to sight-see. The staff was very accommodating. We ended up spending the day in the restaurant/bar area. Because they had generators, we still had wifi and they were able to serve us food and cold drinks. The owner of the hotel came around and made sure that everyone was comfortable and did whatever she could. The next day when the rain settled, knowing that we were leaving soon, they hired us a car to take us around town. They also booked a boat and called the Chicken Eco-Farm and they opened up their restaurant to cook for us! The entire staff was great to us through this unfortunate situation. Because there was no electricity, they even let us check out at 5:30pm instead of 12pm and booked us a car to the airport. If I ever decide to come back to the area, this is the only place I would stay!
Good base for exploring the caves. Very mixed customer base though”
We stayed one night and had booked a double room. Unfortunately the window was broken, so heat and noise from Vietnamese family staying in the room next to ours (had to walk by that window to get into their room) came straight in. We were then upgraded to a bungalow. Would book a bungalow directly if I came back, it's worth it if you want some piece and quiet. The double rooms are all facing the pool, so you need to keep curtains closed unless you want ppl to peek in.. Bungalow was new and well equipped and had a balcony oberlooking the lake. Hotel also houses backpackers in dorms and had a Vietnamese bus group when we were there. So would recommend bungalows if you want quiet. Food in the restaurant was good.
Great stay best place around Phong Nha”
Really enjoyed our stay - view of the lake spectacular, location away from traffic noise, facilities top notch, food very good. Should have stayed there more than the 2 nights we did (getting to Phong Nha and back plus both caves is tough to do in such a short time).
I had booked for 2 nights to see the Phong Nha and Paradise caves but was able to see them both the first day which left me little to do on the second day except hire one of their bicycles for a bit of a look around Phong Nha which is about 6km from the resort. Note if you go to the Pub with cold beer be aware the road deteriorates into a muddy track after rain and you would be better off with a mountain bike. The staff at the hotel were excellent and as there weren't many guests they were happy to talk to me while I had a beer and waited for dinner. Once the new buildings and swimming pool are complete it will be much nicer as there was building going on during my stay and access to the lake was not possible even though the view over the lake was not compromised.
Great location, nice staff”
Great stay - the owners were fun, made our trip enjoyable. The location is right near Phong Nha-Ke Bang park so we stayed here for easy access. The countryside here is spectacular, the hotel was on a lake with a great deck, very relaxing. All in all it was a pleasant stay, we'll stay here again.
We loved this place and lots to do for the kids like canooing , pontoon to jump off and lovely pool .. I would book lakeside rooms .. and just note this resort is not in town but you can get a taxi to and from town or ride pushbikes ( which is what we did but about a 7km ride ) .
Staff at front desk are extremely friendly, helpful and responsive. Food are very good at the restaurant. We had our dinner and breakfast there every day during our stay.
Alec and staff were amazing in meeting all of your travel requirements
Very nice and friendly staff”
The place is clean, cheap and super friendly staff. Great value!
Great place for couple and honeymoon”
We had a surprising night at restaurant of the resort for honeymoon day by their preparation with champagne, cake and lovely musics. Great time with nice quite place to relax. I fall in love with the view of balcony of bugalow room. We enjoy playing kayak in the river. It's totally recommended place when you want to stay at the resort/hotel nearby Phong Nha Cave.
The Lake House Resort - best of the area”
The resort is beautiful and tranquil. The view is magnificent, and the staff/management team is top notch with many members speak fluently English. I highly recommend this resort if you plan to travel and explore the cave systems around the area.
A Brilliant place to stay ”
We visited this area specifically to look at the wealth of caves/nature. This hotel is ideally situated for this. We had a room by the lake which was beautiful and immaculately clean. The staff were relatively young but very competent and nothing was too much trouble. Being independent travellers they picked us up from the railway station and took us back there when we left. The meals we had were lovely. Small but pretty grounds. They arranged a private car/driver for us, which was reasonably priced and we had a lovely time. Hotel is built into a hill side so maybe not easy for elderly or infirm as there are quite a few steps. Although not child free there were no small children so it was a lovely and peaceful hotel. Sheer Bliss. It was lovely just sitting & absorbing the sounds of the natural life and beauty of the area. We would stay here again. Thank you all for looking after us so well.
Beautiful facilities and rooms! Friendly staff and very clean. Make sure to stay in the bungalows as they are right on the lake and have nice little decks to sit outside on as well. The only negative is it is a little outside the towns but they do have free bikes to use and will get a motorcycle brought to you that you can rent for 200,000 vnd for the day.
Beautiful lake views”
Beautiful lake views from just about everywhere in this resort. If you want somewhere out of the main town, this is the place for you. It is on a busy corner where trucks do come around honking horns but if you’ve already spent time in Vietnam you will be used to this. Spend that little bit extra and stay in a villa on the water, I’m kicking myself I didn’t know this was available. We had a room that was right in front of the pool but underneath the Restaurant and there was a fair bit of noise from the chairs scraping. The food was ok and plenty to choose from. The wine selection is pretty good, beware of the warm beer though. Tony is an Aussie ex pat and is very welcoming. More rooms on the water currently under construction and no problems with noise. Kayaks are available for a paddle around the lake free of charge. They can organise tours for you and the cave adventure tyre was fantastic.
Beautiful location ”
The Lodge’s setting is beautiful and the staff very friendly and helpful. The menu was varied and catered to foreigners, their local dishes which were excellent. The first night we didn’t notice that a pool table was directly above our room, the second night we went to bed early as we are older and travelling by motorbike and had a long trip the next day . We were awoken by the activities at the pool table. Room 5 is not quiet. We mentioned at check out and they advised they would have tried to move us the previous night but we were undressed in bed so waited out the noise.
We had to cancel the last night because of short notice flight schedule change, this was no problem and we got a full refund by the resort even it was not their fault. Very nice and helpful!! We can 100% recommend their service .
The best place to stay in Phong Nha”
My girlfriend and I stayed here two nights in their lake view bungalow and had an amazing experience. It was great having such a cozy environment to relax to after long days of motorbike rides and cave exploring. Pros: The room was spacious, clean, and had a great view. There were mosquito nets but we didn’t even need to use them because no mosquitos were in our room. The customer service was very good. Alex was extremely helpful. They organized our rides into Phong Nha. The restaurant had surprisingly good food, especially for how remote Phong Nha is. It is also very reasonably priced. Con: The location is along a beautiful lake but it is a 10 minute drive into Phong Nha town. Booking a bus through them is more expensive than going through town.
