"One of my all time favorite hotels. I loved the understated simple elegance everywhere, the absence of so much hotel paraphernalia and noise. I loved the old palace of Prince Phetsarath Ratavongsa, so beautifully turned into a museum to his memory (look for the photos of our hero with Ho Chi Minh and Zhou En Lai, and the fabulous view from his desk up the river). I loved the water buffalo, rescued from the abattoir, and now grown fat on the rich grass of the hotel lawns. And best of all, the tranquil views of the mighty Mekhong. If you want easy access to the bars and restaurants downtown, stay downtown. There are lovely hotels there too. If you want peace, quiet and magnificent scenery, stay at The Grand. A couple of suggestions: (1) the shuttle bus into Luang Prabang could run a little more frequently - we ended up hiring the local tuktuk man, Mr. Ton, more often than not. Good for Mr. Ton, but not so cheap. (2) It’d be good to have more fruit, seeds and nuts for the muesli"

"What a wonderful resort! We absolutely loved our stay at the Pullman. The service was exceptional - everyone was so thoughtful about even the smallest details. We were upgraded to a large and lovely room. The rooms are new, clean and comfortable - we loved the large shower and bathtub. The hotel has 3 different pools all with beautiful views. We appreciated the quiet of the adults only pool. The restaurants and food were delicious. The hotel was offering a great deal for the spa and we were impressed with the quality of service. Although this hotel is not in town, it is a short van ride away. The setting of the hills and gardens is peaceful, relaxing, and exactly what we were looking for! I cannot wait to come back! "

" I booked this hotel online because it was one of the less expensive options at $80 US/night. I was picked up from the airport and take them to the property which was a beautiful sprawling complex. Amazing pool tucked in the hills. Part of the property gave way to private villas which I saw and were just splendid. My room was located on the second floor overlooking the pool from the private balcony appointed with chairs and a table. The room has a king size bed and ensuite bathroom including every complementary amenity possible. There were English channels on the television. But the view, the view was magnificent. The staff were warm, friendly and inviting. I have lived in Asia for sometime now and the food I had was hands-down some of the best. I would highly recommend this property at twice the price. "

"We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were clean and spacious. The pool was refreshing and had a great view. The central courtyard was great for hanging out and playing cards. Neil, the manager, was really helpful. You could really see that this place used to be more grand. Large wooden courtyard and walkways that really stayed cool, despite the heat outside. But things are definitely getting rundown. The pool area especially. There was 1 umbrella and 1 lounger with no cushions. There were several nice chair and table arrangements, but it didn't feel set up for lounging. We really enjoyed this hotel. We appreciated the trolley transfer to town (15 min) for the night market. The Ock Pop Tok weaving centre and cafe is very close and a lovely setting. The big Pousy market is also close, but nothing else. If we could pick this up and move it a bit closer to town it would be fabulous...but then of course the price would increase. "

"Excellent 20 rooms hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Large, very clean and nicely decorated rooms with private balcony, private safe, etc. Good quality buffet breakfast (if enough guests). Nice and clean outdoor pool with sunbeds; pool-towels provided by hotel. Excellent and fast WiFi connection for free. Although situated a bit out of the city center, it is only a 10 minutes ride by bicycle, which are provided for free by the hotel. For the more lazy guests they also provide a free shuttle service. We much appreciated the pick-up/ drop off airport service provided for free by the hotel. The only negative point we could mention is their water-pressure pump, which cuts off about every minute and then turns on again, which causes the water to be very hot and then very cold for about 10 seconds every minute. They told us they would work on it to solve this (minor) problem. Tip: if you arrive by bus from Vientiane, the hotel is only 300 meters away from the northern bus station. Just turn left on the main street and take the first street on the left. You will find the hotel after 200 meters on your left side. No need to get ripped off by the local Tuk-Tuks."

"Place turned out to be a bit outside luang prabang. The fact that they offer free Bikes compensates somehow for that. It would however be great if they could offer scooter rental to the guests for two reasons : 1) rentals tend to be very expensive in LP compared to other places close by 2) rumours say that there are scooter rental scams. That said we really enjoyed our stay in this small hotel. Rooms are nice with big balconies and the food is great quality although relatively expensive. For LP price value for the accommodation is very good "
