Great resort but not the best beach”
The resort is really beautiful and well maintained in a great location but there is not much around it and you need a motorcycle to move around. The beach is not the best as the sand is coarse and depending on the tide there can be a lot of trash in the ocean. The water is dirty and dark, not the clear version you have in other parts of the island. Most of the food was quite good and the service is quick and friendly. About 50% of the guests are locals, so it can get a little noisy
Two of us: Me? I loved it and would come back. My wife? Not so much. So I'll try to offer both points of view. Location is idyllic between the beach and a river, but it's out of the way, so there's nothing around, you might feel a bit trapped if you don't hire a scooter. The staff's lack of English results in customers not getting any information on activities unless you ask for it, again isolating. Food- Vietnamese dishes are tasty and well prepared, but stay away from western food (even that deep fried breakfast omelette). The gardens/facilities are beautiful, but there are things stored in sight, it lacks good management. The room is beautiful and so is the outdoor bathroom, but a bit inconvenient and so dark, it's a pity that the constructions don't let the light in. Loved the beach and the pool and the hammocks here and there, what a pity that the swings were broken. The tables and chairs at the beach that could be used for having drinks/meals are not used by the guests due to lack of parasols or set up at night. The area around the hotel will be developing very soon, so I'd say, go now!
Beautiful rooms, rubbish restaurant ”
Not worth the money, but the river view bungalows are lovely, we loved the bed and stone bath. The pool is nice but only a few sunbeds that are only in the sun for about an hour each depending on the time of day. Beach is private but dirty, much nicer beaches down south. The food is rubbish and over priced with littler
A bit time-worn resort in a remote paradise”
The place is just one of the best beaches on Phu Qouc. The resort is the only one on the entire flawless beach of white sand. The territory is well-maintained and looked after. Comfy sunbeds (although there could have been more of them) under nice coconut palms. Good breakfast, small pool, free kayaks, etc. Great views from reception. Downsides are: The place is a bit pricey by Phu Quoc standards. Most of rooms seen better times and although being clean, are quire worn-out. The place is far from village/activities/shops. So you'll either need a taxi or a bike if you want to go out. All in all - it is a small piece of quiet and relaxing paradise if you are looking for secluded shelter from resort island crowds.
because of the nature-friendly location and interior, some worms and birds could be with you. the swimming pool and beach side location was good and also close to the Vin Pearl land(10 min by car). the food was not bad and you can use room service only before midnight. some people feel no privacy because of see through window.
Beautiful peaceful resort but a little far out”
Pros: -Beautiful resort that is peaceful (not rammed with other tourists) -Lovely beach -Great bungalows - very clean, good size, nice bath and toiletries -Restaurant serves great Vietnamese and western food and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Perhaps cheaper than most restaurants in the town and better quality too -Chocolate, the resident teddy-bear looking dog, will be your sidekick for your stay if you give him attention. Cons: -Far from the City, even if you hire a motorbike (there is a free shuttle bus every other day) -Staff not very attentive. Linger at the back of the restaurant and do not provide good service
A great site with an amazing large beach just for the resort”
Location is great, it's isolated from where most of the resorts are so you are really avoiding the crowd. If you want to go anywhere on the island you can easily get a cab or rent a motorbike. Rooms are simple and clean with a nice touch. The bungalows on the river are particularly nice with their private terrace over the river.
Great Resort far from town”
The Chez Carole Resort is a fabulous find for those people looking to get away from the bustle of down town Phu Quoc. The rooms are unique, the staff very helpful and friendly, and the decor well thought out and lovely. The ocean view bungalows have private verandas and an outdoor tub. Although the resort is situated on a hillside, the access to the beach is very easy and the altitude gives most rooms an ocean view. The beach is typically Vietnamese, but the resort is situated on both the beach and a river outlet so you have a variety of water experiences you can enjoy including kayaking. Food at the restaurant was very good and the staff very friendly.
very nice place to relax”
The hotel is nicely located, our room and bathroom was dark, but big enough. For breakfast a small selection of food and fruits. That's bad that nobody speaks english except restaurant manager - Ahsan and girl from reception - Lan. We spent a very pleasant time there.
A little bit of paradise”
Came here in low season and the resort was very quiet meaning we had the beach to ourselves, which was lovely! The Seaview room was exceptional, with nice balcony, huge comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and etc. The resort is located out of town which is nice. They provide free transfer to town in the evening providing you eat at their restaurant, which is fine for one night or two... The restaurant serves delicious reasonably priced food, however the live music was truly awful.
Great little place off the beaten track and away from the tourist buzz of long beach. We have 2 small kids who loved it- staff was really helpful (and toleramt). Stay here bit only if you dont mind being imobile in a resort as it is in the middle of nowhere and you will be stuck eating and drinking there ( food is fine and reasonably priced). The beach is clean and the suite was big enough for the 4 of us.
Great. Staff more than friendly, good restaurant with decent variety of fresh seafood for a reasonable price. Room was great, spacious, well decorated (sea view deluxe) with a balcony and bathtub on the balcony (although it should have the option to pull blinds on all the extension of it). The location is very calm and pleasant, the rooms are well laid out and all of it feels very well designed. There's a pool that looks great but the sea is 2metres from it, so I didn't really try it. I think it's very reasonably priced for what you get and a perfect location for some unwinding. You have to rent a motorbike, have a car or call a taxi if you intend to leave the place to explore, but there's not really any need for it... It's calm and in the beginning of December fairly empty, so if you're looking for some more action look other way, otherwise it's a great choice and very good bang for the buck.
Peaceful and beautiful”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chez Carole. Amazing view, peace and quiet, friendly staff and great service. We loved the pool. Wish the tub on the veranda had hot water, but other than that we wouldn't change a thing.
Nice resort with the nice view of sea”
This resort is nice place. It get for itself a nice view of the sea and Phu Quoc's centre. From this resort, you might be able to see central town of Phu Quoc (Duong Dong town), and watch sunrise on the beach. However, this resort is a little far away from the central town of the island. It take approximately 25 mins to ride a motorcycle from the central town to this resort.
The most beautifull place I ever stayd on”
We stayd 3 weeks in Vietnam in many different hotels, this was the nicest one! Both the Suite & the surroundings are the most beautifull I have ever visited! There is one thing they should improve however, the plase is a little far from resturants & the menu was wery boring, so this great place should have a much better resturant!
Lovely resort with new management”
Had the great fortune to be rebooked to the " presidential suite" due to a online miss understanding. But I got a marvollous vacation in a awesome resort! The new manager had a lot of ideas and wanted to have every detail commented so that hi and his staff could improve. The changed their menu while we were there and that is never a smooth transition, but never the less we got what we ordered (more or less) and the staff really tried to out do them selves to perform to our satisfaction. A great resort with room for improvement!
Good location, quite and peaceful place.
Very nice hotel wz big swimming poor”
Staff so friendly n useful when y need more info. The place is so large
A nice place for rest and lazy”
Nice place and beach Quiet but far the central places
The rooms were old and run down! It feels the owner has given up. The staff are really good they seem happy and very inviting to the guests. The door locks on the bungalow were hard to use and most lights in room didn't work. The beach and landscaping were spectacular. The swimming pool was so heavily chlorinated it was uncomfortable swimming. Restaurant was really nice and the staff again were amazing. Food was fresh and quite yummy although it seems he poor chef was working with cheaper ingredients. Overall I doubt I'd ever return to this hotel.
