Can be compared with the good 4-star European resort ”

We stayed at Phu Quoc Dragon Resort and Spa in the end of March beginning of April 2016 for a week. Phu Quoc Dragon Resort is a new modern resort with all the necessary facilities you need: spacious wooden bungalows, large and clean swimming pool, excellent buffet breakfast, free transfer to the city centre and amazing Ong Lang beach in 5-minutes walk. The Resort was opened in December 2015. To cut the long story short, Phu Quoc Dragon Resort can be compared with the good 4-star European resort and deserves 10 points from 10. And we want to give the Resort manager Mr. Anh Tran the credit for this high level of services. Every day (even when he was supposed to have a day-off) from early morning to late evening Mr. Anh Tran was watching after the stuff, give them valuable guidance and guaranteed the comfortable stay for the Resort guests. We lived in Bungalow Garden View where everything inside and outside was made from wood. The staff cleaned the room every day and left plenty of fresh towels. Dragon Resort provide free transfer to Duong Dong town twice a day in 14.00 and 16.30 (back at 17.00) and it was really convenient. We went to Day market in Duong Dong practically every day to buy different exotic fruits and souvenirs at the town market. We also visited Long beach area in Duong Dong town (very popular among tourists travelling to Phu Quoc) and Bai Sao Beach. But Ong Lang beach that is next to Dragon Resort to our mind is the best one to stay in Phu Quoc. We usually prefer to have dinner out of the hotel. In this respect we were happy to find many small restaurants with good rate in tripadvisor.com near the Resort. Most of all we liked Sakura and Mango Bay restaurants. And we highly recommend to try an exotic seafood at Night market in Duong Dong, you will have unforgettable memories about your dinner! For us it was a special journey because of some family events. The Resort manager assisted us with all our requests. We want to tell him speci

Excellent value”

At the price I paid on Agoda, CDN $61 per night, this was excellent value for the quality of the accommodation and service. Everything is new, spotless and well maintained. The staff was hard working, helpful and generally charming. Two exceptional beaches were within a 5 to 8 minute bicycle ride or 9 to 15 minute stroll and, in the case of the nearest, a complimentary shuffle service from 7 am to 6pm. In my view the beaches and in particular Ong Lang beach were magical and one could easily find good and inexpensive food, including of course fresh and plentiful fish and seafood. The cuisine was not exceptional by Vietnamese standards, but it's almost impossible to eat badly in this country. I expect I would have paid at least twice the price for this quality of hotel on the beach, but except for the sea breezes and the sound of the waves, I did not miss the proximity of the sea, and would probably stay here were I to visit Phu Quoc again.

Beautiful resort, great location”

Very new resort, Set only five minutes walk from a beautiful quiet beach. Very nice rooms and bungalows. Large beds and bathrooms, well equipped too. The main accommodation is laid out around a large swimming pool and gardens with palm trees and shrubbery. The place is very clean and tidy and very well staffed. There´s a restaurant by the pool and that´s where they have the buffet breakfast which is very impressive. The staff and management are very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay there very much. Will definitely return here when we next visit Phu Quoc

Great location for rest and adventure. Beautiful new facilities.”

The resort is brand new and beautiful. There are other resorts nearby but we really liked the character of our bungalows and the AC. The resort is not on the beach but you can buy a beer on the nearest resort beach and stake a spot so it doesn't matter. The pool is fun and refreshing and was a great place from which we met fellow travelers. You would be missing out on Phu Quoc Island if you just stayed put while here. The resort rents bikes so we zipped around and saw other beautiful beaches. Bai Sao will take your breath away. The beach near the resort is quiet and beautiful. The breakfast buffet was great. Like most restaurants on the island the seafood bbq is a disappointment as it is overcooked.

A new and lovely medium-sized resort”

Positives: New and very attractive (as you can see in the photos) Beautiful pool with comfy deck chairs Excellent buffet breakfast 500 metres from the beach (resort has a golf buggy and takes you there and picks you up as often as you want) Beach is clean (very unusual for Phu Quoc) but is only 300 metres long. It has some small rocky reefs you can snorkel close to shore Negatives: Walls between bungalows are thin and NOT noise-insulated. Unfortunately, this means you can hear your neighbours a bit more than you'd like to! Restaurant prices are a bit inflated and meal sizes are small. For example, I ordered fish one night and it was very nice but only 150 grams. Bed was a bit hard. Resort advertises boat tours but they don't tell you that the boats spend about 2 hours visiting the resort's local beach for some snorkelling.

An Excellent spot!”

The Dragon Resort was A-1! We had a great breakfast, with omelettes each day for the four of us, along with, on a few days, at any rate, sausage, and great fruit. The place is several km from the more 'happening' spots on Long Beach, which, if that is an issue, then it's merely a taxi ride to Long Beach (where prices are definitely higher!). But what is "happening"? If, like us, you want a more relaxing stay, what with an excellent pool and at least three restaurants just outside the hotel to choose from (excellent (!) food at all three, btw), the opportunity to rent motor-bikes (or use free rental bikes), the ease of getting a taxi or waking to Ong Beach, then, yeah, Dragon is your choice. Right now the weather is fantastic! How is it, in every review I read, that no-one mentioned the dichotomy of what weather apps say and what the reality is? Every day--this is June 7-13, we're talking--was amazing. You won't regret a stay here.

Fresh Resort, great facilities, great staff”

We booked for 3 nights, but stayed for 8 in total. Dragon resort is very new and fresh. Our room was large, clean and nice equipped. Wifi worked very good. Breakfast is a buffet with omelet, pho and pancakes made on your request + choice of fresh fruits, rice, noodles, salads, vegetables, cereals, bread, tea, coffee, juices etc. It was really good and if can eat once a day it can be enough for a whole day:) Pool is clean. If you're staying in a rooms then I recommend 109 on the ground floor, or any of two above (can't remember numbers). Some people complained about kids at school near by. It might be an issue in the first 2-3 bungalows, but in our room we couldn't hear nothing. Resort is not at the beach. But you can get a free transport to the beach, or you can take a free bicycle (less than 5 minutes ride), or just walk (probably around 10 minutes) There is no big choice of places to eat around, but just next to the Resort there is great and cheap small bbq restaurant. Better than night market in town. In general the area is not the best bet for partying, but it's good for relax. And we were very happy with that. There is also a restaurant in the Resort, but I must admit we didn't try it. We liked the place and if you don't need to stay in hotel at the beach it's a great place.

Great spot on Phu Quoc”

Dragon Resort is a lovely bungalow-style resort north of Duong Dong, near Ong Long Beach. We loved it. It is unpretentious and comfortable. It is a good distance from town - about 10 kilometres, which was what we wanted. No clubs or night life but a lovely little village of resorts and restaurants with a stunning beach.

nice resort, pity about the location”

The resort is small but very nice, the breakfast was good & the staff very friendly. The room we had was excellent. The location however is not so good. I was disappointed with Phu Quoc in general as the whole place is very dirty with trash everywhere even on the beach which for this resort was a good 15 minute walk away . I would however highly recommend the Vinapearl resort & Vinapearl World, we had an excellent day there with the water fountain show & the aquarium a must see there. I would go back to Phu Quoc but this time pay the extra costs & stay at one of the big resorts like Vinapearl & just stay in the resort. Phu Quoc city has very little to offer the Western Tourist.

Very good”

The place is quite, 15mins to the center if go by motobike, 5 mins to the beach with free bike. The staff are ok, the breakfast is really simple, and the dishes are the same everyday, and not so many things to choose from. Worse thing is they keep breads for days, they were hard as rock (literally). The swimming pool is big and clean, because I'm the only one using it, seems like everyone else were busing exploring Phu Quoc. The room is perfect, big, clean, cosy, I got free upgrade to pool view, the bed is really comfy and the toilet is big.

Very cosy little resort with very helpful and sweet staff. The bungalows are incredibly cosy!”

I wasn't sure at first as we pulled into this resort in a taxi. It looked different from the glossy photos and the overcast sky didn't help much. We were told we couldn't check in until 2pm (we arrived at 10am) but as they had room, they upgraded us to a slightly bigger bungalow which we could move into straight away. We loved the wooden bungalows. They are spacious and very cosy. The beds are big and comfortable. The only thing is the lights were not sufficient for the bathroom so you can't see yourself very well unless you are a few inches away from the mirror! One thing i would say which i was concerned about when booking was the distance to the city and/or the beach. In fact, the resort could take us down to what was the beach of mango bay resort in a little buggy when we wanted (about 10 min walk). You're not missing a whole lot in the city as it is understandably touristy. Overall would stay here again because of the cosy bungalows and the helpful staff.

Very good stay for the money”

We stayed three nights in the ressort. The pool is nice and the rooms are big. Due to the excellent reviews the place is also a bit crowded and if you don't get up "early" in the morning you'll wont have a seat and towel at the pool. We tried to stay longer but there was no room left. So the manager send us to a brand new Greenland Ressort (same owner), one kilometer south of the Dragon Ressort. Greenland is just extraordinary. Everything is brand new, the staff is really nice and the facilities are just great (Pool, Gym etc) Next time we'll go directly to the Greenland Ressort

They also gave me a late check out when I asked with no problem. They have their own shuttle to the beach and to the town included which is very helpful. Just opposite the hotel and down the road you have local shops where you can buy water, snacks, coconuts etc from tiny shops so very convenient. I went on to stay in 5* hotels after staying here while travelling the rest of the island but this was the best stay I had on the island. It felt more authentic and homely.

Customer Centric and Nice Rooms + Very Accomodating”

First of all, I have to say the receptionist (Mai) was extremely helpful before and during my stay with organizing airport shuttle to room setup and tour information etc. Once we checked in (room 101), with bungalow garden view (~$50USD with the promo), we realized that in the morning that it was right next to a school with very very loud school children that were screaming at like 6am! Not very relaxing stay away from the right side by the reception. I complained and they were able to switch our rooms for us and book some tours last minute - though one thing I wish is that they'd try to save their clients money rather than try to get as much out of them as possible such as when booking tours (charging USD rather than VND), and shuttle costing 350,000VND, when Mailinh Taxi is only 210,000VND! I found out for myself when I asked a taxi man and booked with him directly. Breakfast was fine - omelet station is good and fruits were plentiful but very western style breakfast as most guests are from Russua or Europe. One thing that is annoying is that if you leave the room, the power supply shuts off as the key is attached to the power slot - which means very hot rooms upon your return. I prefer USA hotels where you can leave the AC on so your room is always nice and cold. There was one time we left our room with out the key and I think the assistant manager saw us and went into our room. I had specifically closed the door but when I returned there was a lock I between the door, so we figured someone tried to enter and flow the door but hadn't noticed the lock. Anyway that's the main drawback and that the beach is a bit far off. The free bikes were great but rusty and old. The brakes don't quick work very well either which is needed on the dusty dirt roads. The staff were extremely friendly especially front desk - I can't thank them enough for being so accommodating! Such friendly service and really made us feel welcome even if it felt like we were difficult to please. The

Nice place , clean room , friendly staff.”

We had great 3 days here , wake up in the morning you can see a green garden and nice pool next to you , great feeling . The breakfast is ok , what you can expect from a 3 stars resort . Would be 10 out of 10 if it located next to the beach , but the price would be double i guess . So 9.5 out of 10 in my opinion :)

Lovely resort”

I had a great couple of days chilling by the pool and enjoying the local beach. The hotel compensates for not being on the beach by having a great pool, offering free bicycle hire and shuttle services. The local beach is clean. Staff were helpful. This was a good compromise if you're looking for somewhere a bit cheaper than the beachside resorts.
