Two nights in Phu Quoc”

The staff, the pool, and the view!!

Our stay at Phu Quoc was wonderful. The staff is very welcoming and provided excellent service. The hotel grounds are beautiful and well maintained and from every part of the resort the view is simply breathtaking. The restaurant and bar are both quite nice and there is a spa right on the sand that provides cheap and enjoyable services. Our morning massages were so relaxing and set the perfect tone for our two nights in Phu Quoc. Bicycles are available to borrow from the front desk and the resort is neighbored by some really quaint restaurants such as Jenny's and Sakura... were the food is inexpensive and delicious!!! I highly recommend travelers to Phu Quoc to stay at the Eco Beach resort and if I am ever lucky enough to return to the island I will certainly stay here again. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality!

An awesome Hotel hidden from the crowd”

Good location, nice and clean rooms, small private beach, excellent food, good staff and service

Alright so here are my two cents contribution back to the community. First of all, my trip to Phu Quoc Island was a last minute thing indeed; the day before I got there, it occur to me that it would be nice to check out the island. That week my brain must have been a bit slow, right?. Anyway, as it was during the Tet holidays, the chances to find something acceptable at the last minute were like searching for a needle in my home desk (meaning, difficult but still feasible). I did my quick research and I found this small new Hotel (Orig Resort) in Agoda. Honestly, if I recall correctly, I had only 5 choices and three of them looked ideal for a Halloween night, the other one was out of the question (extremely expensive) and my last option was “Orig Resort”. I read the reviews and some of them were not that good. I also checked out some pictures and read a bit about the Hotel location. After some fast thinking I decided to give it a try. Was it a good choice? Sure it was. The Hotel was awesome; NEW (I even got the feeling that nobody slept on my bed ever lol). Talking about my bed, it was a huge bed. I sleep on a king bed but this one I think it was from the real King itself ;-). The bathroom was “interesting” as it is inside your own bungalow but without a ceiling so you get the feeling that you are taking a shower right in the forest with the birds peaking at you. At the beginning it felt a bit awkward but I quickly got sold to the idea, and I end up embracing the architect for thinking outside the box. In the room you will NOT have AC. I did not care much about it because I didn’t go to Phu Quoc to spend my time in a Hotel room. They do have a big fan in the ceiling; one of those taken from Humphrey Bogard’s Casablanca movie. It is alright, it’s a big noisy when is on and if you are a bit neurotic, you may worry that the fan will fall down the ceiling and cut your throat.

Just amazing ”

We fell in love with this place !!! Stunning beach , pool view just amazing! Especially the sunsets ! The gardens and all the surroundings beautiful, well maintained . We arrived here after staying in 2 other parts of the island in a 5 and 4 stars resorts and Turned out that Phu Quoc eco beach resort was the best . We liked it the most ! The resort is Located in the forest that’s why is so quiet and always fresh air . Still you can walk down like 10 min to some restaurants . But we actually liked the food here . All dishes were available ( COVID times ) fast and very tasty ! Also all the stuff speaks English , all people very nice , friendly and helpful . The resort is a bit remote so if you want to go to main city you have to call a taxi .We will definitely comeback ! Thank you !

Beatiful setting with super friendly staff”

Great beatiful beach, very helpful staff, and very clean and spacious rooms.

Amazing resort! Best value I've ever had in my life. In America this hotel would probably go for 3 - $400 per night during regular season, even more over Christmas when I stayed there. The beach was perfect, Cua Can is probably the best beach of Phu Quoc (very big and clean) but there's not hotels there. Of all the resorts we stopped at (we rode to a lot ) Eco Beach had the best. Very clean and totally big enough for all the guests to be laying out in hammocks or chairs and still have plenty of room. Oh, and if you don't like the sand they have a great infinity pool overlooking the ocean! The food was very good, not amazing but as good as we had for Hotel food. And a short walk (10 minutest) down the road there is a Great restaurant. Everything in the hotel was very clean and the outdoor bathroom was Awesome! Great to take a shower with the sun and island breeze coming over the wall. And the Wifi worked everywhere, even at the beach, never any issues (unfortunately I got a lot of work done). THe staff was super helpful and friendly. Not perfect english but good enough to sort out everything we needed. And very helpful in getting us on a motorbike which neither me or my girlfriend had ever ridden before. Can't recommend enough!

So nice that we Extended our stay!! ”

Eco beach resort was one of the main reasons we extended our stay by an extra 2 nights on this great island!. The staff were very attentive and helped us a great deal when it came to tours, and doing last minute money exchange for USD for our cambodia visas. The resort has it's own private beach and the restaurant and pool had amazing views of the ocean. Breakfast buffet was great aswell. We hired scooters from the resort to make it easier to get around but the grab app still works here although little more expensive comparing to on the mainland of vietnam. Still the area is nice and plenty of cafes/ restaurants and bars around. All round 10/10. Will come back again if I return to phu quoc!

Clean and complete hotel”

We were greeted with detailed explanation by the reception on our stay once we check in. Check in process was swift, and it's like you had the one-to-one treatment from the staff. Hotel room is over expection, clean, spacious and very very eco. Almost no plastic is used - wooden toothbrush, wooden comb, ceramic shampoo bottle etc. Beach and pool is clean and easily one of the best beach on phu quoc, though quite small. Please support this kind of eco concept resort more.

Dream-like hotel and location”

Private beach, english speaking and friendly staff

the orig resort is a beautiful place with room to relax and enjoy the phu quoc island. before i went i saw mixed reviews and it made me concerned about my choice but honestly i have no idea why anyone would not love staying here. as i arrived by taxi i was welcomed by a gorgeous sea view and at reception the staff brought us iced watermelon juice freshly made. dont worry about drinks with ice here they are perfectly safe. as the english speaking staff were checking us in and asking us how our journey went i looked out from reception over the sea, the beach and wondered how many fishing boats were out there. it turns out the private beach has a bar that serves drinks and food (not overpriced) to your sun lounger. try the margharitas they are special. there is a vollyball court that the staff rake the sand every day to remove stones etc. so that you dont bust your toe. we went at a busy time and there was always plenty of space for us to get a lounger where we wanted. the beach is rocky in places but believe the pictures you see as it is truly magnificent. in fact photos do not do it justice as being there is much better. the bungalows looked nice but i stayed in the 'presidential' building at the top of the hill. there are 5 single rooms in the building and it is a bit of a trek to get up there every time. but my mum is 70 and she did not complain about the distance, she did complain that there were not enough lights though so they could improve that. we only paid £16 a night for these single rooms though so it was excellent value. things you need to know: 1) there is no hot water in the single rooms, dont know about the bungalows 2) height of the shower room is 6 foot, anyone taller will have to stoop 3) electricity goes off at midnight so the fan stops working. makes it very hot and this was probably the worst thing about the hotel. hope they get it fixed. 4) the hotel is in ola beach 15km from the airport. be ready for 20 usd, long taxi rides

Absolutely Fantastic”

The Staff, The Isolation, The Bathroom/Room

We went to Phu Quoc on a recommendation from a friend and so glad we did (we were on our honeymoon) as it certainly lived up to and passed any expectations we had. Getting to it was a easy as we organised an airport pick-up (worth it). We wanted to totally switch off which was exactly what happened. I also treated myself to a massage which was Amazing in itself but it was the staff which made the stay so very very enjoyable for us. Even the uneven snooker table was fun but the open-air bathroom was the 'icing on the cake', very romantic. We are from the South Coast of the East Coast of Australia so it was lovely to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. The staff's English was pretty good and they were very helpful. The only thing we would have wanted ... a longer visit as we weren't aware of the history of the place. You really need a minimum of five days there (not two) so you can alternate sight seeing days with relaxation days. The island is much bigger than we first realised. We totally recommend this place.

Hidden gem!”

One of the best resort I have visited till now. Did not know this gem was hidden way out by the coast. From the room window, I could view the sea and feel the cool breeze. It felt like a private beach, very clean and clear water, a very good place to relax and chill. The scenery was beautiful and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment. The view of the sunset from that point was mesmerizing. I must say the location of the resort is at best place of Phu Quoc, the perfect place to get away.

great place to chill”

quiet, clean, friendly staff

orig is chill resort with its own little beach about 20min outside of the main city. if you want a chill relax place when visiting phu quoc then this place is for you. highly suggest renting a scooter and putting (carefully) around the island. staff here was friendly, and the beach was good enough (though not at good as some of the un-explored beaches to the north). just like everyone else mentioned, the food here isn't the best (although they are trying, and breakfast was decent at least). there is an amazing restaurant around the corner called mango bay that makes up for this. enjoy phu quoc!

Beautiful territory and the beach, amazing pool

We really liked this hotel and it was better than we expected (I recommend the staff to add some better pictures on the website). If you are coming to Phu Quoc to relax on the beach, swim in the pool and have romantic evenings, this is a very good place to stay. The hotel is quite far from the city which was exactly what we were looking for. No noisiness, private beach, friendly staff and beautiful nature around you. The room was clean, the territory is very nicely designed, infinity pool is great!

Brand new resort with loads of potential”

Nicely designed rooms, lovely beach and smiley staff

This is a brand new resort (opened on 28th December) with less than 20 rooms/bungalows which has the potential to be amazing. Our room was big and nicely furnished (loved the bright floor tiles) and the open air bathrooms with plants were gorgeous. We stayed in a sea view bungalow which was one of 3 joined together - most rooms were attached so if you do want detached make sure to ask in advance. There is a small but lovely sandy beach with some rocks that make a shallow swimming area that we thought ideal for children. The water is shallow quite far out so it feels very safe for swimming. There are loungers with umbrellas and trees for shade, and the beach is ideal for viewing sunsets. The grounds are newly planted and well looked after and I'd love to come back and see how it all grows up - looks like it'll be very exotic. The food was good and we heard a rumour that the chef used to work at Mango Bay. A couple of times they didn't have what we wanted from the menu in the restaurant, but what they did have was very good - especially the chili chicken with lemongrass. Oh, and lovely mango lassis! The staff were smiley and friendly and keen to help with anything, although it was clear that they were inexperienced. Not many spoke English (yet!) but there was always a manager on duty who spoke English and gave good advice. They were keen for our feedback, and every day something was improved on. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone visiting Phu Quoc. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Tranquility

Hotel is about 25min drive from the airport, about US$18 taxi fare. I don't understand why there's no free airport transfer as I was told by a local guide on my one day island tour. Most hotel offers free airport pickup. Staff are very helpful with smiles. Room was clean, but it's not easy to take a shower. it's like to shower from a water dispenser. However, they have a very nice garden and beach view. For those who look for tranquility and relaxation, it might be a good choice. Budget-conscious travellers, pls think about it before you book it. 10% service charge for food. Upon check out, I was surprised by the total amount I spent on meals and drinks. But Phu Quoc is a good place, Thai is packed with people, why not Phu Quoc? Don't wait until it's well developped...

Paradise!”

Eco Beach Resort was fantastic. The property itself is well manicured and is stunning. I have some physical challenges and must walk with the aid of a cane. The property is a little bit hilly. It’s a bit of a walk from the bungalows to the reception area where meals are served. But because of my physical challenges, they brought my meals to the bungalow every day. It was very thoughtful of them. The staff were amazing. The infinity pool is really beautiful. And because of coronavirus, the resort was less than half full. My airport transfer was complementary because I stayed for a week. The driver was there to meet me upon arrival. And my transfer back to the airport was seamless. The beach bungalows are great and have a balcony with chairs where you can sit and look at the ocean and hear the waves. It was so relaxing. The property is hilly and there are stairs from most of the rooms and bungalows down to the beach. So if you have physical challenges, keep this in mind.

Reasonable price, friendly staff, nice pool

We had a pleasant stay at Phu Quoc Eco Beach resort for 2 nights. The staffs here are very friendly and helpful. The pool is just awesome with great view to the beach so you can enjoy the sunset by the pool. Breakfast is ok, BBQ dinner is great. The only disadvantage is the location quite far from the central and took 20$ for round trip to get to night market. The beach is just ok, a bit rocky, recommend for couple, but not family with small children as they do not have pool for children.

Great location but appalling restaurant.”

Delightful private beach and accommodation.

We were delighted with Orig when we first arrived having re-located from Long Beach which was certainly more popular and more commercialised. The beach is very pretty and quiet although the swimming isn't great due to rocky outcrops. The staff were as helpful as they could have been but spoke so little English repeatedly made mistakes with food orders. With the excepion of a couple of dishes the food was pretty dreadful and breakfasts inedible- even the bread! We had spent two weeks travelling on the mainland before coming to Phu Quoc and experienced some delicious food at very low prices. We spent five nights at Orig and found it necessary on two nights to take a taxi into town to eat at the Night Market. On our last night we ate at Orig because we needed an early night due to a very early start the following morning. We made our order at 7.30pm. At 9.30 my husband eventually received his order. At 9.40 I received mine which was not what I'd ordered. After two and a half hours I finally got fed. We were offered a complimentary glass of awful wine to keep us happy while we waited and the cost of our dinner was reduced by half, but that was little compensation for a really dreadful evening. It was not a happy note on which to leave. The place has lots of potential but really needs someone to educate the staff and manage the restaurant properly. Orig won't survive otherwise.

Little Oasis”

We stayed in a superior room but my daughter had a hill side room which did have a larger tv by far and bed just slightly more in the trees - so not much in it for the extra price. Staff were so helpful, breakfast had a great variety, the beach was kept really clean and fine if you want to snorkel or swim with plenty of sandy areas. Many people were fishing or playing darts. Sun beds and plenty of hammocks on the beach. Happy hour cocktails from 4:30 for 2 hours. Within easy access of Ong Lang beach, restaurants and shops to buy drinks and beers if required. Great taxi service picked us up from the airport- complimentary. I would recommend this place having stayed in Hanoi and HCMC as it was pure relaxation.

Great hotel and nice staff”

quiet location, nice beach, very new bungalows

I stayed in Orig Resort together with my girlfriend and two other friends from Germany. We loved the 3 days here! The place is just paradise on earth! The beach was very nice! To be honest, we don't know why some people complained about it. It's of course not a couple of kilometres long like the main beach but it's definitely big enough to chill out and have a great time. However a bit annoying are the rocks which were mounted to keep sea weed out of the beach. This works in deed but makes swimming a bit diffcult. However you can rent scooters in the hotel and just drive for half an hour to other beautiful beaches which are perfect for swimming. Besides of that the staff was really nice and some of them could also speak quite good English. Don't know why come people complained about that to be honest. However we had a great time and can recommend Orig Resort! By the way, it takes about 20 minutes to downtown by taxi. The costs are approximately 10USD. The guys at the hotel front desk can call a taxi at any time. So it's not a big deal that the hotel is a bit outside.
