The location of this hotel is lovely, set on a hill just outside the town with amazing views of the town and surrounding mountains. The hotel is quite new so our room was very comfortable and in good condition. The staff were all fantastic, particularly the general manger, and they went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Despite the level of English varying between staff, all our requests were dealt with very promptly (perhaps because the hotel didn't seem particularly full while we were there) and they were very happy to assist with restaurant reservations, arranging tuk tuks for day trips etc. We didn't use the infinity pool as it was a little cold (and there is so much else to do and see in Luang Prabang so we didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel) but it looked lovely. The gym was small but well equipped, and wi-fi was provided free in the rooms. The free shuttle bus to town was very handy given the hotel is a little out of the way, however the last shuttle bus returning to the hotel leaves at 9.15pm, which made it a bit rushed when eating dinner in town - a bus leaving at 10pm would have been ideal although it was easy enough to get a tuk tuk back to the hotel. The food at the hotel was decent, although not as good as equivalent hotels in other countries, and food and drinks were very expensive (same price you would pay at 5 star hotels elsewhere in the world, but when compared with top restaurants in the town it seemed a bit overpriced for Laos). As there are a lot of fantastic restaurants to choose from in Luang Prabang we didn't end up eating at the hotel other than breakfast. All in all we had a great stay - Luang Prabang is a fantastic place and we would definitely choose to stay at the Shinta Mani again if we return to Luang Prabang.

This is a beautiful Resort Hotel with well-maintained garden and lily pond. It was wonderful experience to have breakfast in front of the lily pond and garden. Breakfast provided was good and adequate. Buffet breakfast during high occupancy and a la carte breakfast when low occupancy, but very sufficient to start for the day. Staff were friendly from front desk to restaurant, Housekeeping, even the gardeners. They greeted us whenever they saw us. Room is big with balcony, good toiletries and Housekeeping cleaned up room timely. The only setback is the hotel is a bit far from Luang Prabang city centre with 30 mins walk. However, they provide free bicycles for the hotel guests. We were okay to walk since we love to enjoy watching the neighbourhood while walking back to the hotel. Our 3 night stay happened to be the Buddha Day where we were able to see the alms giving ceremony near the hotel along Phu Vao Road. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone who loves the resort feel hotel and away from the bustling city. I would say this is the best hotel we stayed during our Laos trip with good value for money.

many of my friends had stayed here and raved about this luxury hotel, but i was always reluctant to stay at a self-contained resort outside of town because i so enjoy being in the centre of luang prabang. on this holiday my friend and i chose the best of both worlds -- three nights at the three nagas right in the centre followed by one night of total pampering at la residence phou vao. it was the right order, because nothing can top la residence phou vao and indeed we never left the grounds because it was pure heaven. i can hardly wait to get back. absolutely everything here is perfect. the suite itself had me giggling at all the lovely touches -- flowers on the toilet and the toilet paper holder??? the spa was perfection and the food was absolutely perfect. one could run out of superlatives here. just one tiny detail sums it all up: i travel with some small dolls that my little niece gave me to photograph all over the world. when i came back from dinner, the person who had done the turn-down service had arranged them sitting up on their own little seat made from a linen towel, complete with a red carnation. now that kind of attention to detail spells a great hotel!

First time visiting Luang Prabang and it was an amazing stay at LE Sen resort. Booked a private villa and was blown away. Entering the hotel on a small street with a small entrance but pass the entrance, it was a totally different vibe. Staff were always smiling and giving their best to Ensure guest were treated with the best hospitality. Although it was a very small resort, it was cozy and it was well equipped with a pool, gym and restaurant. The villa was amazing with an outdoor shower and jacuzzi. Tv channels was aplenty and in room dining service was top notch. Cleanliness was never a concern at this resort. Shaun

staying at this hotel was the highlight of our trip. it is absolutely beautiful, and the staff are very helpful and nice and always there just when you need them. it has one of the nicest pools we have ever been in. the suites are in villas spaced around the grounds, and are very nicely done, with very high quality materials throughout. it feels very luxurious and unique and the staff make you feel very pampered, without being overbearing at all. the hotel is a bit out of the center, as it takes about 25-30 minutes to walk to the center, although you can take a tuk-tuk into town easily. we had planned to switch to a hotel in the center in order to be right in the middle of things, but we loved being at the luang say so much that we extended our stay there and stayed for 5 nights, and would have loved to stay longer! the hotels in town do not have the views of the mountains around, the huge pool, or the sense of calm that is so relaxing to come back to at the end of the day. the breakfast is delicious, with the best eggs benedict ever! the croissants are delicious too, and the fruit plate well presented and delicious. i celebrated my birthday at the luang say, and the staff went out of their way to make me feel very special. i would imagine that they are excellent with any special occasion and would make your day extremely memorable, as they did mine. we cannot recommend this hotel highly enough -- especially during the next few months, as they have a special lower price as an opening special. it is a great great deal! i have stayed at five star hotels around the world and this one is at the top of the list in my book, as it is so special and unlike any other hotel!

Sada Hotel only opened at the end of December 2012 and we were apparently the first Agoda booking they'd had, as we booked the day the hotel appeared on the site! The room was very comfortable and tastefully furnished, everything in the room from the bed to the chairs to the intricate bedhead to the floors and stairs had been beautifully handmade by local craftsmen. We found the room facing the busy road to be too noisy so they moved us to a quieter room with absolutely no bother. Breakfast was gourmet and excellent. The landscaping was beautiful and I understand that there are plans to install a swimming pool in the plot adjacent to the hotel next year. As you'd expect from a brand new hotel, there are still some teething issues (such as no room information re wifi and how to operate the safe,when breakfast times were, info that there was a restaurant headed up by the chef from L'Elephant, some accessories missing from the rooms etc) but rhese were all very minor and I have no doubt will be resolved very quickly as they find their feet. The staff bent over backwards to provide us with excellent service (maybe they thought we were from Agoda?!) and were more than happy offer to provide an airport transfer in their brand new hotel van. Would highly recommend this place despite the location being a little further out than other similar hotels (15-20 mins walk rather than 10-15) but the quality and the great price point make a stay here very worthwhile.

The Sanakeo Boutique in Luang Prabang is one of the best hotels I have stayed at in a long time.The hotel is well run, clean, in a great location (it is only a short tuk tuk ride away from the main part of town), has great facilities (loved the pool), and the service was amazing too. From the moment I was picked up from the airport to the moment I was departing from Luang Prabang, I was very well looked after. Paul, the general manager, has turned this hotel around. You might notice the reviews of this hotel were not that great until a few months ago when Paul took over as General Manager, and he has completely turned this place around from the looks of the reviews on Tripadvisor. He is very personable and even came with the airport pick up driver to meet me. He knows Luang Prabang like the back of his hand and has great suggestions for whatever kind of traveller you are (trekker, partier, or quiet type, he knows the best places). The staff is excellent as well and they look after their guests, including the employee Song, he was an excellent server in the restaurant and attended to all of my needs. Stay here. You will not be let down. I will definitely be back there to stay again when I return to Luang Prabang in a few months time.

The hotel was wonderful. It was a few kilometers from the Old City but they'd arrange us a free ride into town whenever wished to go. The breakfasts were tasty but get there early because I'm not too sure that it gets replenished if a dish empties and it's not kept very warm. However on our 1st morning we overslept and they provided us with freshly made breakfast without charge. The pool area was very nice. The front desk staff was the best, always helpful and spoke English. We were there for 6 nights and would return again.

the rooms were simple and relatively small. the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, helping us organise tours. the breakfast was good and had several dishes. on the first floor there was an extended balcony/living area with multiple wooden chairs and tables. the rooms had air-conditioning but unfortunately there were still some mosquitoes in our rooms. wi fi was not available in all rooms. the hotel was walking distance from the riverside, and there were several good restaurants on the same road.

I'm happy we stayed there, first off. But there were some glaring oddities/negatives that could easily be fixed for future guests. We booked a standard room (no balcony) only because the rooms with balcony did not offer a double/queen, only 2 singles. However, upon arrival, the standard room was boxed in with no view or sunlight (main building is 5 feet from the window). I asked front desk about upgrading, explaining that I booked the cheap room ONLY because of the double bed issue; they were terrific, allowing us to pay the 10 USD extra to upgrade, even moving a queen bed from our original room to the upgraded room with a balcony! I was happy with the new room, but these may be personal issues that others may not worry about: 1) There was 1 English television channel, CCTV America. 2) The free wi-fi in the room did not exist. I had to sit on the balcony to get a signal, which even then was very slow! This wouldn't be too much of an issue normally but the temperature during our New Year stay was quite cold and it wasn't easy to relax on the balcony for very long...particularly due to the terrible television options. 3) The water of the shower was horrible! The rainshower was barely dripping and it was a chore to rinse the soap/shampoo off! No kidding, it was really bad. I just felt that a 75 USD room in Laos would produce better wi-fi, which is advertised on the website (if the wi-fi doesn't work, don't say you provide it!), I assumed satellite/cable TV would have more than 1 English channel, and I feel they should offer the double/queen bed in the upgraded balcony rooms during booking because it doesn't make sense for a couple to sleep separately in 2 single beds if a balcony is coveted.

We were promptly greeted by Kevin(" (manager) who told us to relax while he made us a drink- a banana shake- while he showed us a map of the popular tourist & local spots! We then checked into our room, it was VERY clean, comfortable bed and the best A/C! The location is a 10 minute walk to the night market, but they provide bicycles for FREE! The boss took us and a couple other guests bowling & we had a couple drinks, it was a lot of fun!! Not to mention The Boss was gracious enough to pick up the tab! Apart from the boss's generosity he is also an incredible cook! We had lunch & dinner multiple times with everyone, big family style dinner...the food is authentic North Chinese cuisine and really cheap for how good it is. Not only did we extend our stay here for a few days we also came back to stay here again after Vang Vieng. This place needs to be higher rated than what it is! Kevin is also one of the nicest people out there and will help with anything you need! Thanks again!

Hi i enjoyed my stay at Haysoke Hotel, though it was a little far to walk into town and taxis are very limited. It was only about 1km out but after doing it several times a day it gets a bit tiring. The rooms where comfortable and the breakfast was ok. The hotel was very quite and very peaceful. Overall it was a good stay. Though next time i will look for a close hotel in town.

because i want to experience different guest house in lp, so i have booked different accomodation, the villa muang swa guest house was the best price one. the guest house is a bit far from the old town, but it is not hard to find it, many of the host of other guset houses would able to tell u the location of the hotel, and it is located nearby the road to the waterfall. i think the hotel is valuabe to stay one night. there is no breakfest in this hotel, anyway u could try some more local food now. there is a night club in the house, but i have not found any noisy during my staying in th hotel

Very clean and comfortable room with private bathroom, airport and balcony. Breakfast was enjoyable with daily fresh food. We stayed at Phongkam Residence with friends, booked for 3 nights and ended up for 4 nights. The owner Wan and his wife are very friendly and helpful. As a former guide mister Wan can inform you about trios, places to go etc. Despite the temporary construction work (they are extending the hotel and the construction activities will be finished within 1 month) we had a great time. The hotel is in a quiet street, 5 minutes ride with the tuktuk to the night market or 20 minutes walk. The hotel is offering mountain bikes for free use! Excellent value for money. Highly recommended!
