Cute bamboo huts! ”
I loved this hotel. The people who work there are friendly! They were at the pier when I got off boat and led me up the hill to the hotel and carried my bag. Super helpful! Hotel is about 15 min walk, not too bad but if you are not into walking in the heat it might not be for you. Huts are cute but made of bamboo so you hear everything from the others staying there. You also hear the music from koh phi phi but it shuts off at 2am and its in the distance so not too bad. Wifi is kind of slow and does not reach room, but if you sit on patio by office it's good. Free coffee and tea. Great place for the price!

We had a great time in our bungalow!”
This resort in Phi Phi is very nice and quiet place. 10 minutes walking to the port. Not crowdy. Free coffee or tea in the morning. Staff is really willing and kind. The price is not bad during the season (Christmas).

Clean bungalows and very friendly staff”
You do have to walk about 5 mins up the hill which can be hard work, but when we arrived with our backpacks, the staff immediately took our bags off our backs and handed over cold water for our efforts. Throughout our stay the staff was really friendly and provided free coffee and wi-fi and some freshly chopped fruit for us when we were using the internet. The bamboo bungalow was quite large compared to others we've stayed in, the room, sheets and towels were nice and clean, the mosquito was net already set up over the bed and the toilet and shower room was also clean and larger than others we've been in. The bamboo huts lets a little breeze through at night and with the powerful fan, you're not too hot at night. There is a fair bit of noise at night from the pumping parties on the beach and ear-plugs are a good idea, but if you want to be close to the beach this is likely to be the case in all the bungalows in the area. All in all very good value for a nice relaxing location

friendly owners, nice location”
The phutawn bamboo resort at ko phi phi is a very nice resort with very friendly owners. the owners tried to learn us some thai-words. It is located on a hill and it takes about 6 minutes to the party beach.

Great for nature lovers”
The resort is great if you're into nature. The bamboo huts are set in the gardens up quite a steep hill (not as bad as some people have said in my opinion) and they're very basic - a double bed, a fan and a small bathroom. The bamboo is pretty gappy to say the least in the bathroom, and we actually had a frog in there on our first morning! We had no hot water but I don't know if that was because we didn't turn it on because noone else seemed to have that problem reading through the other reviews. It is VERY noisy at night until around 3am so I'd stay somewhere else if you're a light sleeper. Generally the hotels in Phi Phi are quite expensive for what you get and this is nice for a couple of nights but if you love all the luxuries of hotels then this isn't the place for you.

Awesome! ”
My friend and aunt loved phutawan! Everything was clean, the staff was super helpful, and the wifi was decent. The only thing we weren't crazy about was having to walk up the hill to get to the bungalows. All in all though it was a great place to stay!

Nice idea, but a ridiculous amount of bugs!”
while i really liked the idea and price of the phutawan bamboo resort, my experience here wasn't the best. mosquito nets were supplied here, but even so i got completely eaten alive by mosquitos and who knows what other kinds of bugs. the accommodation is very minimal, though comfortable enough if it weren't for the bugs and crazy club music that starts way too earlier(i think it started at 7pm one night) and continues late into the night. the staff were incredibly nice and helpful, but if given the choice, i would have spent a little extra money for some place a little more enclosed and closer into town.

Bamboo hut ”
The resort was quite well situated and seemed to be the lowest proce on the island. However, it was a bit of an uphill walk from the beach but not to strenuous. BUT it was really loud at night and other epeople in our resort came back at 3o clock in the morning and started playing their crap music really loud, However, can't complain for the price and if your going to stay in this area on phi phi then I suppose you have to expect a lot of noise. No restaurant or food on site, 5 minute walk to bars and restaurant and nearest beach

perfect place to stay”
Very nice bungalow in bamboo, people very helpful telling you about the island what to do and giving nice tips without being pushy. Speak english and french perfectly. Small inconvenient is the noise until 1:30am as if a disco was right next to us. Not the fault of the place just the sound from the party beach that is more than exagerate and that sounds over kilometers. We still recommend it warmly!

value for money”
At night, there is usually a pandemonium at beaches of phi-phi. All the bars play loud music which I fear every resort at beach can hear. So, it's better to stay away from the main beach so that you can sleep. Phuttawan bamboo resort is uphill hide from view hut like resort. The rooms are made of bamboo. The rooms are non-A/c but it is simply what I was looking for. A budget trip to phi-phi. I learnt some Thai phrases, thanks to hotel staff at resort. don't forget to buy mosquito coils if required.

Clean but very basic bungalow out of town”
Although the bungalows are a little out of town it is not as quiet as you would think! Actually at night you hear the loud music from the beach as if you are staying right next to it. It's clean but very basic, they didn't even try to make a bed. It's just a mattress on the floor and very thin bamboo "wall" with wholes in it everywhere. At the time (during low season) it was the best value for money though, as most of the accommodation at phi phi is overpriced anyway. And the staff was very nice I must say!

Bamboo Huts”
The hotel is situated on a hill at the end of the beach with all the loud bars. This meant a short hike up the hill, which for me in that hunidity meant i was breaking out in sweat by time i reached my room. Also of a night you could hear the music blasting from the beach. However for me this wasn't a problem as i went for the party atmosphere. Bamboo hut was basic with own bathroom and double bed but for the price i cant argue. Also the staff were very nice and welcoming.

Mixed feelings”
There's an incredibly steep stretch of road/track for the last 200 metres, with some stretches even being over 45 degrees in inclination. No mention of this in advertising, nor suggestion to call and arrange for driver to pick you up from bottom of incline (tiny Daihatsu ute, still barely small enough to squeeze up narrow track with mere inches to spare), still, we arranged the driver for the rest of our stay. Found out a small number of bungalows had A/C once we got there and upgraded to the $1000/night rate, still a bargain. Once we got there, the Bar was closed, because, "The man who had the key was 'away' that day." This resort is the absolute last one on one of the radial tracks from town centre, with a killer hill, and with the thought of having to come up that hill again tipsy (it was bad enough sober) just made 'Mister bar manager's' absence even more irresponsible. I liked the fact that there was no TV, no hot water and was just simple bamboo lodges. I was just looking for an authentic bamboo bungalow experience with a bed and a shower. Most facilities were good: The shower was fine; They had toilet paper for westerners including a little bar of soap and a shampoo bottle, there was a power outlet to recharge phones etc. BUT (it's a big BUT) the bed was easily the hardest bed I have ever slept on.... I like firm beds but there has to be a teensy bit of give for everyone's bony bits. This had none whatsoever. I woke up so much sorer and stiffer than ever before. it was harder than those punching bags swinging in the gym. We weren't the only ones thinking this. Several nearby bungalows had blow-up pool 'li-lo's airing on their landings during the day, and I talked to some of the longer-staying residents and they said they put them on the bed under the sheets so they could get some comfort when the slept.. The other thing that scared my companion, (52 kilos) was the landing of the bungalow. The bamboo framework needed some maintenance. There we

Cute bamboo hut”
New experience for me and my family. We have never stayed in a bamboo hut. The room even though small its very clean. The staff are very friendly. A few of them cant speak English but they try very best to understand and help us with our request. The only down side is that its very far from the town.

value for money. nice simple bamboo bungalows”
Very good! It is true that the last part walking to the bungalows is not easy, but is ok for the price, comparing with other places in phi phi ( yes expensive comparing with other places).. We listened the music from the beach at night but I think that this happen in all phi phi

Best and cheapest bungalows on phi phi”
Best choice to stay here. It is at the top of a big hill but they take all your bags and give you a lift when you arrive. Afterwards they give you a lot of lifts but its not that bad, you get used to it. The location is much quieter than the main town Staff are incredible, so kind and helpful. Genuinely nice people. Free water tea and coffee :) Bungalows are basic but you can't complain for the price. You get all you need plus I found the beds really comfortable. Cold shower but I was to hot for anything other than that! The bungalows don't look like much but the place is safe, the people lovely and the price is cheap... was perfect for us. Was supposed to stay 3 nights and stayed 8! Check out reggae bar at night :) so funny and best place we found to eat was called tom yam - cheap but great food

A trek from town but worth it for me!”
This type of stay isn't for everyone! It is a bit of trek to get to the bamboo cabins that are your rooms if you are heading in from town, having to go up quite a steep hill before you even reach them. Luckily, there was a man holding a sign waiting for me when I got off of the ferry on the island or I would have been totally lost. If you are worried about security this is not the place for you. A simple bamboo stalk through some holes is the lock for this room and the bathroom has a permanently open window area, which I loved because I found a local kitty basking in the sun there one or two times. I really enjoyed the jungle feel of the this place and it is was a nice change to the hectic and sometimes dirty island life. You can hear the music from the beach at night, but it was nothing I couldn't sleep through!

Nice place to stay ”
This is a bamboo bungalow, so you have to expect a bamboo bungalow. The staff is amazing, very friendly and helpful. The location is 10 mim walk from center, what is good because it's far from the night noise (and you still can hear) I recommend this place.

You pay for what you get”
Phutawan Bamboo Resort was honestly a nightmare! after spending over an hour walking around in the rain and asking for directions from locals who didn't even know this place existed, I finally arrived in the middle of nowhere on the other side of the island. It's a trek up a fairly steep hill which in flip flops is a pain. The staff were a bit clueless and took over half an hour to find my booking but even so, they were very nice people. The bamboo huts are extremely basic. Literally a mattress (with a mosi net with holes in) on a soggy wooden floor, with a shower, toilet and a fan. Nothing more. You can barely sleep if its raining as its so loud on the bamboo roof and it is full of friendly mosquitoes. It's in the middle of nowhere and is a good 20 mins walk from the pier (if you know where you're going). The only good thing about this place is that its extremely cheap and being a backpacker low on funds, this is the reason why I stayed here. But for a couple of extra pounds a night you can get a much nicer, cleaner and more comfortable place in town closer to everything you came to Phi Phi for.
