Great family run hostel!”
We loved our stay at Picardal Lodge in our bayview room! Each room has a balcony with some place to hang out. Free WiFi works pretty good in all rooms - but at the upper building the reach of the WiFi is best on the balcony. Long Beach is only few minutes away on foot and some other nice beaches like the Capari beach can be reached in 1hr walk or some minutes by motorbike. The staff was very friendly and helpful and they even created their own maps of the area to hand out to the guests - superb! Many thanks to Francis and his family for the unforgettable stay in their Guesthouse!

Cheap and convenient”
If you're looking to explore San Vicente on a budget, Picardal is a great place to stay. It's near the terminals and the staff are helpful in giving you directions to places you want to go. It's about 15 minutes away from San Vicente's main attraction -- the 14 km stretch of undeveloped sand bar called Long Beach. It's also right across the shuttle and bus terminals, the passenger boats, and the main market, where you can buy fresh fish and have it cooked there. The room is spacious and mostly clean, with a big bed. A nice breeze also blows through the room.Screens are also in place to protect you from Palawan's notorious mosquitoes. Since it's a budget hotel, there are not many frivolous amenities. There is wi-fi available, but it's only available at the lobby of the hotel. The stairs are a bit steep, especially if taken in the middle of the night. The hotel doesn't serve any meals, but it has an adjacent convenience store that sells some snacks and bottles of water. San Vicente itself cuts the power at midnight, and Picardal has no generator of its own. Over-all, it's a no frills budget hotel with a good location.

BUDGET FRIENDLY (GOOD FOR BACKPACKER OR FAMILY)”
This lodge is perfect for backpackers! Especially if you are looking for a nice and cheap lodge to stay. They have clean cozy room and cr. Veranda was a plus plus! It's perfectly located across the public market where there are 2 carenderias available for you to eat and I believe they closes at 6pm. For dinner you can go to the resto beside the lodge or you can drive 5 mins from the hotel and go to the food court. I believe the lodge itself only offers breakfast. Sadly, they don't offer free water. It's also around 10 mins drive to the long beach and 45 mins to bato ningning. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Staffs were very accommodating. I highly recommend this lodge.

Good for Budget Travelers”
We needed a place to stay between our time in Langogan and Port Barton and Picardal Lodge was one of the more affordable places we could find on a short notice. The lodge is situated in San Vincente - home of the famous Long Beach. The town itself is very peaceful with an amazing town square where you can dine on local food. My wife and myself enjoyed a liter of Red Horse (by far the best beer we’ve had here in the Philippines) and an entire grilled Mackerel. Yes you have to be careful around the bones but the taste of a freshly caught fish coupled with a tasty beverage in the late afternoon was nothing short of paradise. And that is where paradise ended. Picardal Lodge looks very inviting from the outside. The staff are welcoming and friendly and answered any and all questions we had. The room we stayed in wasn't as welcoming I’m sad to say. The pipe from the water supply to the sink leaked constantly and created a puddle at the base of the toilet. The shower curtain and surrounding walls was home to some type of mold/mildew. Our outside door had an issue closing fully and resulted in an invasion of sorts. At night the light we had on in the room attracted a swarm of flying ants which I quickly dispatched using my wife’s sandal. After that it was lights out for good. The trifecta of the leaky pipe, moldy shower, and ant invasion was proverbial straw on the camel’s back which resulted in this less than positive review. The upside, Picardal Lodge is extremely affordable for budget travelers. Perhaps we had a bad room. An exception to the rule if you will. The wi-fi in the room was also the best we’ve encountered thus far on our journey in the Philippines. There is also an internet cafe and separate wi-fi signal in the lounge/reception area of the lodge. Staff are friendly and helpful and the town and Long Beach are chill and fun to visit. Cost: Budgeting? This place is for you. Better than a hostel but nothing to write home about. Accessi

My San Vicente Preference”
The hotel is directly across from the market with stalls where you can get a full meal for under 100 pesos. Walk from the mini van drop off point in 2 minutes. But it's at least 5km to long beach on a dusty, rocky road. A tricycle will cost you around 150 pesos 1 way. American breakfast was 120 pesos with instant coffee, eggs, toast, spam. Wifi wasn't the strongest, but worked every day. I stayed at a place 2x the price for my first couple nights, and I preferred Picardal.

A beautiful location: a very short walking distance from the van terminal & eateries by the bay.. Very convenient. Will stay on this lodging when we go back to beautiful San Vic. Staff and owners were also very helpful and accommodating.

Value for money”
Good place to stay for one night for early morning flight in San Vicente Airport. Excellent location, in the town poblacion and very near the airport. Not for luxury travellers, but excellent for backpackers.

Good value for a backpacker trip”
Good value for an hotel in San Vicente. Rooms are simple and clean, beds hard as wood but I'd say it's a good deal for small budgets. If you want to arrange trips (island hopping) or transports (van, motorcycle) to El Nido or Puerto go to Peace & Love, dont ask there!

Very nice hotel and staff.”
From the minute we arrived we were offered check in even though 9am. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends. In fact today I gave very good reviews in person to 3 of my friends. We felt very welcome there. It is the type of place I would feel very comfortable leaving my kids and grandkids.

very nice hotel”
very nice hotel, the family that run the hotel are very nice people, the hotel is very good if you are on a budget particularly if you stay in a fan room, i thought the room was very good for the price i paid for 2 people, safe and secure and handy for local food options, overall a nice place to stay and good people to meet, wish them good luck for the future,

Ok for one or two nights”
Not a bad place to stay for one or two nights but probably not ideal for a longer stay. Price is more than reasonable though so if you are on a tighter budget this place is suitable. Francis and his family are lovely people who really made my stay enjoyable Stayed in the middle room on the top tier, good size room decorated in interesting shades of green with two single beds and own bathrom. Sadly the room wasnt that clean, previous occupants rubish still in bins, weird black dirt/dust around the sink and there were a lot of ants in the room which i kept at bay with bug spray - I didnt make an issue out of this though as ants seems to be a regular issue here. Bed was incredibly hard, picture a yoga mat in a wood frame - didnt bother me i slept like a baby but some might struggle! Wifi was patchy at best, worked ok first thing in the morning on the balcony but seemed to fizzle out by lunchtime. Long Beach is about a 15/20 minute walk away but there are plenty of bikes/trikes that will take you there, just watch out for the sand flies I got eaten alive. Very little options for food though so bear this in mind as San Vincente is a tiny place!

Good value accomodation”
the picardol had nice basic, clean rooms, however, the location was slightly misleading as the 'private beach' is actually several km away and the lodge looks over the bus terminal instead. i also found the reception slightly unhelpful - but if you are just looking for a cheap base to explore the surrounding area then this is a good choice.
