Nice choice
Location, breakfast,staff
The hotel is a very good choice for visiting Siena. Location is excellent for visiting the sites. Do not try and walk from train station to hotel-take the #7 or #77 bus which will drop you right in front of the hotel. Breakfast was very good and the staff helpful. One problem is that there was a lot of street noise due to the fact that the hotel sits right beside a small square and bus stop. If that might bother you request a room away fro mother entrance.

Good position but noisy and could be cleaner
Position, breakfast and room size
Bit disappointed here, even though we believed that there was limited vehicular access within the walled city, there were buses and motorcycles and street sweepers traveling through on a regular basis, making it hard to get to sleep or sleep in. Our room, as was our travelling friend’s, was very noisy. The rooms were large but not the cleanest with dusty floors and were not cleaned daily. The continental breakfast was quite good with a Cappuccino machine and a choice of cereals and meats. Wi-Fi was fair but slow. Not very good value in our opinion, but there are so many tourists there the supply and demand aspect means they can charge more for what we would think they are worth.

Convenient location
Near train & bus stations and short walk to city center.
Staff was very helpful & courteous. Breakfast was sparse even by European standards. Our room was modest but ok. Best thing about this hotel is the location. Our room was on the ground floor & very noisy early in the morning.

5 min walk from main square; Nice breakfast
The hotel is at the centre of Siena which is closed to the bus terminal at Gramsci Square. Breakfast was set like buffet and self-served. You have no pressure about eating how much until you are full.

wonderful place to stay in Siena
The receptionist at this hotel was the most helpful we came across. Nothing was too much trouble, she was friendly and spoke to each guest separately about their own experiences/tours etc. Organised tours, taxis, etc and even helped out with a missing camera.
The hotel was once a monastery, and the rooms re quite simple. It is very conveniently situated with bus stops outside the door, and walking distance to the centre of Siena

Historical Siens
The Piccolo Palio Hotel is close to the centre of town. The room is very large and comfortable.
The bathroom is tiny and the room is very noisy once the traffic starts moving (8am) with buses just outside the window. Has a tiny breakfast area.
The Piccolo Palio Hotel is well positioned for quick access into old Siena town. We found the room quite comfortable but the bathroom was tiny and the room quite noisy once the traffic started flowing so no sleep-ins here. The staff were friendly and helpful and assisted us with sightseeing recommendations. We enjoyed our stay but would have enjoyed it better had we been able to get a better rest during our visit.
