Best hostel for Backpacker !! ”
Really love here ! The staffs can speak English very nice , smooth and clearly, and also have service mind :) The room is clean and comfortable. Happy to stay here. (If I go to Myanmar again, I pretty sure to stay here.) However, it is quite far to walk to Shwedagon Pagoda. PP, Thailand

Exceptional”
The showers had the best water pressure compared to the other places I stayed in Myanmar. Staff are friendly and helpful. I arrived on an early morning bus and was allowed I to check in right away and they organized my taxi to the airport. It's close to Shwedagon Pagoda, eateries, banks and supermarket. If you need anything in downtown it's a short taxi ride away. I stayed in the 4 bed dorm and the beds are very spacious. You can keep all of your stuff in your area without getting in anyone's way.

Clean But Needs Improvements”
Clean place. Location is out of downtown, but in a very lively locals area. I liked that, but the taxi bills added up. Needs some work though -- laundry is RIDICULOUSLY expensive, no shared ride boards, extremely small social area, no social or cultural events for guests. Rooms are really nice though and staff is super friendly. When I was there, the internet provider went out of business, but that's not the hostel's fault.

The best little secret in Yangon, that is soon to be a secret no more!”
Of all the hostels I have stayed in all over the world, this is my favorite. The staff are fantastic, epitomizing the kindness and friendliness of the people of Myanmar. The front staff's English speaking skills are also very good and they are very knowledgeable about Yangon and helpful when directions are required. The surrounding San Chaung neigbourhood is very interesting also, and the Shwedagon Pagoda is a mere 10 minute walk away. The morning breakfast is a real treat, as it is fresh, local cuisine but minus the heavy oils you often find at street tea shops. The beds are super comfortable; the showers are great; and there is a decent amount of privacy in the 4 person dorms. And on top of it, it always felt quite quiet at the PTH and relaxing, which is nice for the more 'mature' traveler. I can't say enough good about this place. My only regret is that with such outstanding service there is little doubt that getting a booking here currently and in the future will become harder and harder as I don't think there is much comparable accommodation in Yangon for the price.

Nice hostel!”
I spend this hostel for nine days. Stuff are very kind and room is very clean. This hostel's breakfast is traditional meals of myanmar. Location is also good. There are some restaurants and shops and small local markets in around here.

Perfect Single Room”
I was so pleased and surprised by the Single Room I had at Pickled Tea. I had read so many terrible things about cramped dirty single rooms in Myanmar on line that I guess I was expecting the worst. Instead, I got the best! The pictures online do not do the Single Room any justice. It is tucked away in a little alcove, but the ceiling is very high and there is access to a balcony. It is not cramped at all. The bed was comfy enough for Southeast Asia and the shared bathroom was always clean and available. Pickled Tea is walking distance from Shwedagon Pagoda, but you have to cab it to downtown. This was not an issue for me. The staff is helpful and there is lots of information in the lobby to help with your activities. Breakfast was an interesting array of Burmese treats - both savory and sweet. I really enjoyed my stay here and recommend it to other solo travelers!
