PERFECT!!”
This was perfect for our stay in Kyoto. I wished we had stayed here longer. Below are the top reasons why you should choose Piece Hostel if you are in Kyoto. - Clean and brand new showers and toilets with all amenities provided (Towels/Shampoo/Soap/Conditioner/Sandals) - Huge, comfortable and sturdy bunk beds (one bunk almost equal to a double bed) - Individual lockers provided per bunk (One locker can fit two day packs easily) - Hi speed unlimited wifi for every section and floor (This is very difficult to find in Japan) - Literally 2 min walk from Kyoto Main JR Station (Mcdonald Exit) - English speaking Local friendly staff (We interacted with Rob san and Itsuki san) - Free breakfast (Croissants + Scones + Bread + Coffee) and complimentary onigiri surprise in the afternoon. - Safe storage for luggage provided even after checkout. - Clean and spacious overall with a huge lobby and lots of brochures/information readily available) - Very quick checkin and checkout procedure. - They also had washing machines and dryers available for laundry. We did not use them. Not sure if there is an additional charge to use them. Enjoy Kyoto and stay at Piece Hostel Kyoto!

Two Thumbs Up”
My husband and I picked Piece Hostel for the price and what awesome value for money it was! Piece Hostel is just a block away from Kyoto Station (Hachijo Gate) which made mobility to-from hotel and station easier. We stayed for 1 night and reserved a double deck private room (coz that was the only available at the time we reserved) and it's as it was described on their website. Sheets were crispy clean upon our arrival and you are given the opportunity to pick the pillow of your choice (choices include foam, feather, balls, etc). The individual shower rooms were pristine and so were the toilets! Staff was so friendly and they didn't tire of the many questions we had. Great breakfast with rice, bread, miso soup. The all day available cold barley tea was a treat! The only downside and this is not a all the hotel's fault at all is that the there was a tour group when we stayed. When we went to the hotel's lobby for breakfast, the 30 people tour group was also there which made it difficult to navigate the area coz the space wasn't big enough for 50 people plus furniture to be there all at one time. The tour group was also most likely checking out that day so it seemed each person brought to the lobby his luggage for hotel safekeeping. Thing is, the hotel did not have a huge luggage storage area so all luggage were lined up in the sitting area, which didn't leave much room to sit at! All in all, great hostel experience!

Exceptional”
Piece Hostel Kyoto, managed to book a room after reading so many positive reviews on this hostel. Moved to Kyoto branch right after a night stay at their other branch (Sanjo). Hostel is walking distance away (4 mins) from Kyoto train station, located at a quiet alley. There is a 7-11 nearby (3 mins). Common area is at the ground level of the hostel. Travelers get to mingle around at the common area. Hostel is clean and well designed. Breakfast served although is simple but it is delicious, enough to fill up your stomach before a day off sightseeing at Kyoto City. Short stay a night at Piece Hostel Kyoto. Will be back for sure next time I visit Kyoto. Gambateh !

A Home Away From Home”
On this trip i experienced 4 different type of inn - on purposed, hostel; budget hotel; traditional ryokan; and 4 stars hotel. Piece Hostel was one of the best ! Despite its affordable price, it offers beyond expectation hospitality. The building was new and super clean, small room, but comfy bed. friendly staffs and great international ambience. good smell soap-shampoo-conditioner in clean bathroom, well equipped dressing room, and they even served breakfast in its modern kitchen. not to mention, location is just minutes away walk from Kyoto main station. the kitchen and dinning room was my favorite place. It was where people from various background met and interact with the warmth in diversity. Tea & coffee are served for free, next to the garden that functioned as smoking area - and BBQ area when its not cold. they also put valuable information too about the tourist spots around kyoto in big board next to the kitchen. it is soooo homey, that i found it a little sad when i have to checked out. in a brief, its a home away from home :D

Fantastic beyond expectation!”
I had stayed in hostel before with sharing bathroom, and it wasn't a very good experience. I had doubts when I first booked Piece Hostel Kyoto. But I was amazed by this place once I stepped in! The design of the hostel is contemporary and young. There are free flow of coffee and tea. Free usage of the kitchen, good for people who misses home and wants to cook! The whole lobby, lounge and kitchen is like a hipster cafe. They are so attentive that they also have a huge board at the lobby with Kyoto map pinned with places of interests, weather forecast and latest happenings! The sharing bathroom is super clean separated with dry and wet area. They even have a dressing area with mirror, tissues, hair dryer, etc. As for the room, the bed is so comfy I feel so snugged when I slept on it, feels even better than my own bed at home! PIECE HOSTEL will be "the place" for me when I go to Kyoto again!

One of the best hostels i've stayed at”
My stay at Piece Hostel Kyoto surprised me in a lot of ways. Although the location of the hostel can be tricky to find (it being in a small road with no obvious signage), the general area is but a short 5 mins walk away from Kyoto Station. The closest convenience store is also a short 4-5 mins walk away, so getting supper or any drinks for a night of partying is not a problem. The building complex is very modern looking and the interior is clean looking! The rooms are probably one of the nicest rooms i've seen and they have a TV in each room. The bunk beds are not creaky and there was ample space on the floor for 2-3 luggage lined up against the wall. Breakfast provided was good given it was inclusive and had a variety of bread, rice, instant miso soup, beverages and a potato salad. The bar also had a good variety of drinks/cocktails at affordable prices, with a somewhat huge lounge to hang around and meet people from all walks of life! All in all, a very good experience deserving of it's rating!

Best Stay - Location, Very clean, Free breakfast”
Stayed in a private double room for 6 nights. The room is small with a comfy bed,a sink and TV. On level 1 there is the kitchen, showers and makeup room and a bar attended by the staff. Free breakfast was provided with quite a few selections of bread (croissants, chocolate bread etc), also a potato salad, two kinds of Japanese rice, miso soup and standard tea and coffee which is more than sufficient to start the day. Guest can also store their meals in the fridge provided in the kitchen area. Separate bathrooms for male and female guests were maintained very well, spotless clean. Separate toilets for males and females on each level were also cleaned regularly during the day by staff that makes them very clean and spotless anytime you want to use the toilet facilities. Staff is very efficient, friendly and ready to help whenever you have any issue with your further trip/destination , they will try to sort it out for you. For us, they are better than any 3 star hotel that we stayed in Osaka. I give them full 5 star mark as hostel, comparable with a 4 star hotel. I do not hesitate to book to this hostel. We will definitely stay in this hostel next time we visit Kyoto. Thank you Piece hostel for providing such a great facility and standard with a very reasonable price.

A Pleasant stay in Kyoto”
Piece Hostel is a good choice if you plan to travel to Kyoto. It's just a 5 mins walking distance to Kyoto Station. The room we stayed is double room shared bathroom which is big enough for us to pack and unpack our 2 big luggage. The room is clean and comfort. Toilets is located at each floor but the bathroom is only available at the ground floor. Anyway there are quite a lot of bathroom so you don't have to worry about it. The common area located at the ground floor is spacious and there are activities held during every Monday and Thursday. It's quite an interesting activity whereby the traveler can get involved and meet new friends. Overall, Piece Hostel give me a good impression and I will definitely choose this hostel again when I travel to Kyoto.

Superb Hostel”
I travelled solo to Kyoto and was awestruck by the design of Piece Hostel. I made the right choice in booking this hostel. I took the 12 mixed dorms and I felt I have the privacy despite that. The common area is big and there are 3-4 imacs for guest's use. I would like to commend the staffs for the clean toilets and shower room. It is always very clean whenever I need to use these rooms. It is just less than 5 mins walk from Kyoto Station's Hajicho exit. The breakfast is good, not your typical buffet style but its better than I thought. You may want to try the salmon mixed rice. However, the pillows are not good enough. This is one negative thing that I would comment on Piece. Other than that, Piece Hostel is superb.

Wonderful place to stay in Kyoto”
I had an excellent stay in Piece Hostel Kyoto. I arrived on 25th Dec and the hostel was having a Christmas Party for their guests with free flow of beer & food. It's an excellent idea to create an event so that all the guests have a chance to know someone from different countries. The whole hostel is really clean and the staff often clean the washroom & bathroom. The location is pretty neat to the Kyoto station so it's easy to access to most of the places in Kyoto. I'm highly recommend this place for traveler who seek for convenient, value for money and great customer service.

Impressive facilities!”
I've long heard about Piece Hostel from a friend who raved about this place. I stayed in the 18-bed mixed dorm and was initially sceptical about the security and privacy, which eventually proved to be a non-issue. The manner in which the beds were laid gave sufficient privacy to each person. Also, when I checked in, the staff found out that I was leaving at 6am the next day and offered to pack some bread for breakfast for me. The location of the hostel was fantastic, just a 5min walk from the Hachijo exit of Kyoto station. The shower rooms were super clean and spacious! There were 6 shower rooms each for male and female guests and there was absolutely no problem getting a shower room. I liked that the hostel had a 'make-up room' for guests to sit and blow dry your hair after a bath. An awesome stay in this hostel, with impeccable standards. Really wish that they have more outlets around Japan!

One of the best hostels I have stayed in.”
I have stayed in countless hostels over the years and Piece Hostel definitely ranks as one of the best. I would stay here over a hotel despite the fact that it is cheaper than just about every hotel in Kyoto. The rooms are Japan sized but everything is so well-designed that we had no problems whatsoever. They really have thought of everything and the hostel includes coin operated laundry facilities, cheap bike hire, communal apple macs, and fantastic kitchen facilities. When we checked in, they down played the included breakfast but to our pleasant surprise it was great. They also provide free tea/coffee. I haven't covered everything but you can be sure that you won't regret staying here.

A wonderful stay for the price and sleep”
I really enjoyed my stay at Piece. I was in an 18-person dorm room. The nature of a dorm room isn't something I like, but of course I booked it to keep the price down. For the price and even with all the people in it, the bed was comfortable, the curtains helped with privacy, a small lamp provided light, and a diverse selection of types of pillows to sleep on were amazing. Food came in the form of many types of bread with condiments and potato salad. They have plenty of leftovers, too. The girls at the desk were polite, helpful and spoke English well. My room was hot the first night. I told them, and I didn't have the problem the rest of the stay. The only downer is that it's a little out of the way from the main parts to sightsee in Kyoto, but it's about 10 minutes walking distance to Kyoto station. So overall, not bad. I definitely recommend this place. Truly, I enjoyed the hostel!

A budget hostel with good amenities in Kyoto”
It was great experience stayed in Piece Hostel kyoto where it offered breakfast and all the facilities such as laundry service, money changer, laundry, PC and also kitchen. The staff could speak good English and some even speak Mandarin. They also had wrote those tourist information on the board where you could easily plan your schedule. It was a great stay there. However, based on the location map stated in the website, initial it was hard to find it as you need to cross over the kyoto station (located behind the kyoto station). But, overall, it was a great experience.

The best location next to Kyoto Station”
Piece Hostel Kyoto locates near Kyoto Station, and it's very convenient to those who travels between spots via Subway and JR Lines. Staff of Piece Hostel Kyoto is very nice and there's a Okonomiyaki Party when I stay here. The staffs cooked delicious Okonomiyaki that is a unique cuisine of Osaka / Kansai Area in West Japan. To sum up, I will stay Piece Hostel Kyoto in the future with my family.

Highly Recommended! ”
I love Piece Hostel Kyoto. The location is near Kyoto Station about 500meters. Near KYOTO AVANTI (terminal of kosoku bus) if you plan to ride the night bus going to tokyo. They allowed us to leave our luggage on the day of check out up to 12mn. They allowed us also to take a shower the night before we leave for tokyo. We have peaceful stay for 3nights. Staff are very accomodating and approachable. Unlimited coffee and Barley Tea. Bed was so comfy and can fit for two people. It was an amazing stay. I will recommend it to my friends and I will surely stay here again soon.

I salute the cleanliness of this hotel. Really great value for money! ”
I’m a solo traveller from Singapore. Honestly, I didn’t expect much from this hostel since it’s cheap. But lo and behold, I was amazed by how professional the staffs were, how clean the entire place is, how near it is to Kyoto station and how the staff were so friendly and polite. Man, they know how to speak good english! I also appreciate the fact that they have a common area/lounge to socialize and they even have a bar for you to drink if you want to ease the night away. I checked in on December 29, 2017. I definitely would recommend this hostel. So far, this is the best hostel for someone who’s seeking for value of money with amenities of a 3star hotel. Not exaggerating, but it’s true. Keep it up, Piece Hostel!

Homey hostel with fun group activity/s for a nightcap”
Piece Hostel is in a quiet neighborhood near Kyoto Station. I love the hostel's color pallette (monotone!) and the big, bright and homey feel of the receiving/common areas. Breakfast was simple but they have more options that your usual hostels. They have ample tables and sitting areas for guests. My friend and I stayed in a twin room with bunk bed. The only downside was the room was at the 3rd floor and shower rooms were on the ground floor (they have an elevator!). The highlight of our stay was the mochi night which you can join when you buy a drink (Y350). Great staff -- friendly, helpful, and engaging. Kudos to their 'onboarding' of their guests -- what an extra mile!
